    Been running in both. You're pretty spot on with usage advice. For whatever reason though, for runs over 8 miles I keep on pulling the Rincon. It does the job without issue, and helps keep my elite jogging pace respectable.

    Had the Rincon for the past few days, felt amazing with it, trying to train for my 5k to beat my PB before taking more serious distances, and the Rincon is just perfect for me, right amount of cushioning and super lightweight, tried the Clifton, liked it too but Clifton is heavier, so the Rincon is a preferable option

    Nice summary. Just bought some Clifton 6’s yesterday, my first Hoka’s. Have got plenty of lightweight shoes but was sold on the extra cushioning without having too much of a weight penalty with it (I’m talking about you Adidas Ultraboost). Will see how I get on with them and maybe the next time I’m looking for a light shoe it could be the Rincon

  • @baltsu
    @baltsu 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have both. Ca. 400K in the Clifton 6 and ca. 100K in the Rincon. I would say that middle-long and long runs on asphalt Clifton, faster long runs, easy runs, moderate runs Rincon. I am not wearing any of these shoes for recovery or tempo or reps. Rincon is more fun to run but Clifton 6 is good when you want to protect your legs when you run a long one and it's great when you want to push really hard downhill. Maybe it's easier for heavier runners but at least I need to run kind of aggressively in order to get the Clifton work well. It's much more easier with the Rincon. They are both good shoes and somehow the choice is also dependent on the feeling at the moment. If it's hot and dry, I would wear the Rincon and when it's colder and raining, definitely the Clifton.

    Clifton 6 has been great for me on long runs at a moderate pace, as well as my recovery runs. For speed work, tempo runs, and just feelin' fast, the Rincons are money. If I had to pick one, the tiebreaker goes to the pair with the bigger, better pull-tab.

    Took mine to a first spin yesterday. Only ran 1.8 miles due to the excessive heat we have going on in Jersey. Went with this shoe since my epic reacts were bothering me on runs longer than 5 miles(and I love that shoe). So just off my quick first impression, we have a highly cushioned shoe that is extremely light. Really looking forward to see how these react once the heat cools down and I can get back to longer runs.

    I bought the rincon's in septmeber when I started running again. They were amazing but gave me blisters on inner side of my foot anything past 5 miles. Recently retired them for the react infinity flynit. I miss my rincons but may purchase the cliftons for longer runs.

    Strangely enough, Hoka came down to our running store/club today with both shoes as demos for us to try. I got the chance to run a 6 miler in Rincon and I would say for me it was decent in terms of snappiness and speed. However, I can't see myself running more than maybe 10 miles in Rincons because they are a bit firm. Clifton 6 on the other side was well cushioned and soft the way I like it. Both shoes provide a better kind of support in comparison to other shoes like Nike peg or turbo, which I have been using. The Hoka rep told me that Rincon tends to get soft very quickly throughout its lifetime.

    Loved the video. I'm showing abnormal wear on my Rincon only after 24 miles. I've done mostly speed work in them though.
    I'm seeing fraying on the outsole prematurely. Not sure if it'll last beyond 200 miles. I imagine one of the foam sections will deteriorate completely.
