I started listening to Bee Gees four years ago and I was so amazed. This is one of the most important groups of all time. The three guys are brothers, but the guy in the middle (the oldest) is the only left living. He has written something like 16 Billboard #1 songs. This week that guy (Barry Gibb) released a new album called Greenfields which for many days was no. 1 at Amazon on all LP/CD sales. But I think it is already sold out. I would love to hear your reaction to: Bee Gees - Wind Of Change - Spirits Tour (good audio)
I guess if you grew up during the disco era, you knew he was a man. But it's great to see a new generation of people discovering and loving their music.
Oh man, you made me almost pee myself!!! I've heard many people say, I thought they were black, but never heard, them say they thought it was a woman as well LOL 😄 ***YOU MADE MY DAY***
I'm so happy it made your day !!! The Bee Gees are fantastically talented. They are (plural) three men, so they are not "a woman" but "three women." The woman/women confusion is widespread since our population is rapidly losing basic reading and writing skills. Keep it up with the responses - I'm not criticizing anyone but trying to save you from embarrassment.
BTW Jai, Barry is using a 'falsetto' voice. It's a technique that raises your voice an octave. Nice reaction. These brothers were born to sing in harmony.
They're brothers. Middle guy is Barry, born 1946, on his left, Robin, right side Maurice, fraternal twins, born 1949, which have sadly past. The last man standing is Barry, so also their younger brother Andy is gone. But how Barry is alive, is clear to hear on the album 'Greenfields' which saw the light of day in January 8. 2021! There he does sensational duets with awesome musicians.
The Bee Gees wrote and preformed their songs from the 60’s until Maurice died in the early 2000’s. They also wrote for other singers. Barry, the middle one, sang with Barbra Streisand. They wrote songs that Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers sang as duets and singles. This song is disco. They also wrote R&B, pop, rock, western. This song and 5 others were in Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta.
THEY'RE FOR REAL...THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL SINGERS AND WROTE THIS SONG THEMSELVES...THEY ARE BROTHERS - BROTHERS GIBB = BEE GEES AND THEY HAVE A YOUNGER BROTHER WHO HAS HIS OWN SOLO CAREER.
I grew up listening to them and was along for the ride when they started singing in falsetto. They considered themselves R&B. Critics labeled them as Disco but they did all kinds of music. Too Much Heaven is at the top of my favorites list of their songs.
They are Brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb , They had been singing together ever since they were little kids, Don’t worry there were a lot of people who thought that they were black so you are not alone, This Genre was Disco and the Bee Gees were a huge part of it in the 70’s.
The Bee Gees were one of the greatest rock groups in that fantastic era. They had great hits in the sixties and seventies. React to any of their many hits!
Been listening to The Bee Gees since the 70’s .... so glad your generation is listening to them also .... Barry the one in the middle is the only one left ..... his twin brothers singing with him have passed away even the baby brother Andy Gibb which he was a singer also in the 70’s he died when he was 30 from a heart virus do to Cocaine so very sad .... you should look him up he’s worth listening too ... he looks so much like Barry ....
You are never too old to be surprised are you? When you said you thought it was a woman, a black woman, I nearly fell out of my chair! too funny! Thank you for your honest and fun reaction to this great old song!
I was born in the 70s (1974). I was only three in December 1977 when the movie, Saturday Night Fever was played. At first, I thought they're black. But, these brothers know how to kick some funk with R&B, pop and rock. The Bee Gees are the Gibbs Brothers (or most people called "The Brothers Gibbs".) been performed for more then 50 years. Barry (The breaded one in the middle) is the oldest of the group. Robin (In the red) and Maurice (in the white) are fraternal twins. They been performed since as kids. They also got a younger brother, Andy who also a singer as well. Sadly, Andy, Maurice and Robin passed away. Barry is the only one left. You should check out their other songs including You Should Be Dancing, Night Fever, Too Much Hevaen, Jive Talkin, and my personal favorite, Boogie Child.

This was part of the backtrack for Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. The BeeGees did the entire backtrack for the movie. It was considered as part of the Disco Era. Barry is the eldest of the brothers. He is the main vocal. The other two are twins. Robbie and Maurice. Maurice is the one with the dark colored hair. They started out as children and spanned 5 decades. Barry Gibb is the only surviving brother and is in his mid 70's and still rockin' it.
It's an awesome day when you have a young black man discovered that the Bee Gee where not only not black and not a woman and still loves it and groves to it. You learnt something today! All the love from you white sister!!
