A big A for interpretation, you are exactly right. They aren't speaking against the use of technology, they are speaking against the addiction to technology in society.
So much in this. You got the general idea in the first minute. There was the hypocrisy of the tree hugger, Tuomas, bathing in the oil that feeds his phone. Floor, the mother living her dreams through her child. Empuu got red pilled and beaten and Kai recording it. Troy's throne being in reality his toilet seat. Marco the "fat pills" salesman and the model putting herself through the pain of plastic surgery for her looks. All the while the beauty of nature is so close if only we look up. I've watched this a few times and see something else each time. Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year!!
I first interpreted Empuu's red light as someone commenting online and saying a single thing 'wrong,' opening himself for the slaughter - as everyone does when interacting online. And after the fight continues it's no longer a metaphor, and Kai is a bystander more interested in getting attention than helping.
Not wishing to contribute to the endless noise but heads up to anyone not aware of the Virtual Nightwish concerts in March 2021. Tickets on sale now! Its a great video and nice reaction.
This is one of those songs and videos. That you could watch and listen to 100 times and still find something new. Then spend a hour per minute breaking it down.
One cool thing about the video is all the "noise" that is trying to get your attention. You can view this video multiple times and still find something you missed, just because there's so much going on. Just like we have in our every day lives. So many layers on this song AND video.
Extremely allegorical, indeed. Very strong message, which makes it haunting, despite the "noise" .... Great reaction, Sean. Love, warmest regards, Wim P.S.: I finally caught up with your Floor, Nightwish, and Beste Zangers reactions :). On to the next ....
Ya know... its obvious he was selling snake oil... but I didnt catch that he’s behind the pop-ups and stuff. Not sure if that was how they intended it, but its my head canon now
As you get into the Human :ll: Nature songs, gotta check out the short 'Countdown' intro videos to each song that members of the band take turns doing. While there isn't one for 'Noise', there is for all others. Great to hear the perspective and informative videos from the group, (Troy's of course for "Harvest" is the most humorous). Just put " Nightwish Countdown # " in the search bar and they'll come up. (to note: the countdown numbers are not in order of the album so will have to match up manually by title) Highly suggest you do the songs in order as there is a theme running through them, and the Masterpiece Album itself is a continuation from the "Greatest Show on Earth". Doing a great job, Enjoy!
Hallo friend, i love this great Artwork from Nightwish. But, i see you on YT. Mmh, but i love the real Nature.. here, where i live,by me is it Moor. Great reaction 🤗🥰stay safe ps the man in red light was Emppu, and the selfing man Kai
You nailed it, once again. I recommend reacting to shoemaker (official). Also from the new album. Visually there is not so much going on as in noise. It's a tribute to Eugene Shoemaker.
People don't record accidents or trouble for proof, they record it to share and get their 5 minutes of fame, sadly. I'll just point out something you may have missed about Tuomas role. He was the tree hugger out being an activist in public (also with his phone, to show his dedication to the world)... and then in the "privacy" of his tub, it was him bathing in oil with the face mask on with the factories on the background, worshipping his rubber duck. (you could see his clothes on the stool next to him). Something we're all also guilty of (me included).
I totally missed the mark on that one, I noticed it a couple times but I didn't get the message from it. It was kind of bothering me as everything else had a meaning to it.
Nice and rather accurate react my man. Technology on itself and the use of it ain't that bad. The way and reason of usage is what is criticized. Very significant word in the song: Egoland!
Yep, this was the first video published from the Human Nature double cd. If you want the full impact of this masterpiece play it order. But I wouldn't mind if you would react to separate songs 😀
A lot of people take a heavier message from it than Tuomas says he intended. Tuomas said: "It's a reminder. It's some food for thought. I see it more as an optimistic video than pessimistic. Especially the last 10 seconds of the video, when you see the beautiful forest and the landscape, it should fill you with hope the real world is still out there." I know the Finnish are kinda melancholic and have a dark or nihilistic sense of humor. That might explain how he views this different than most of us.
Thats probably very true, every culture has their own take and standards for what is normal to them. I might have gone a bit too far into the darkside on this one. But I think I did at least see that they were constantly trying to say, we can do better, there is more to see outhere that what is on the screen in front of us.. Srry for the late reply, I took a few days off, and lot of comments came in.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts You're actually one of the few reacters that comments back most (if not all) in the comment section. So don't feel guilty if you can't comment on all. I hope you're doing better after taking the time off.
Merry Christmas for you. The next song is released today, from Floor Jansen sings Ave Maria, (not the one with Marko) but her own special version on youtube.
She`s Finn-Swede, so born in Finland to a swedish/half-swedish parents. Jessica Edström is her name if anyone was wondering and she`s an instagram model.
You picked quite much of the data and scenes of this video...well done ; ) and yes...the music is great. By the way...it is Tuomas in the oil with the poor yellow duckling suffering of the pollution by humans without any protection like Tuomas has a mask.
When I watched this video for the first time I got the basic message of course, or maybe that's not of course because I've seen some people/reactors beeing totally lost about the message of this song. But I missed half of the things you noticed. You are very perceptive.
it is Tuomas in that oil bath, what ever his character preaches in this song doesn't mean anything, his character is still taking oil baths no matter what that character is posting. so his character is still main character in this video.
The first part shows how they think they are or pretend to be, in the second part you see what they really are. The selfie woman is a well know social media poster in certain groups. Oh and Tuomas was the guy in the bathtub. He as a tree hugger is also guilty by polluting through use of tech.
I interpret the Marko/pills imagery as being representative of all the ads one encounters imbedded in the social media and search engine platforms. Many promise things they cannot deliver, thus the "snake oil" portrayal Marko gives us. Just as with snake oil, once people figured out it didn't work, they quit buying it. The whole setup was Matrix-esque. People are given this fictional fairy tale life to live, but behind it all is putrid and corrupt. You might be king, but your throne is a toilet. You might pretend to be the most beautiful creature in the world, but the price you have to pay to achieve it just may be too high. You may promise miracles, but if you cannot produce them, you will be shunned. You seem to have a life of royalty, but it's all an illusion...it's really a prison. You just want to conform, but society is out to get you. In the end, it's all lived via a neural implant of some sort. Humans in this video are living their lives, never knowing of the beauty and vivid nature of their surroundings. But that's the only way they can live the idealistic life lifestyles. Because if they weren't in the "happy" Matrix, they would exhibit in their "real lives" seen in the "bad imagery" version (bathing in petrochemicals, being victims of violence, etc.).
The picture was of the US Capitol building... not sure if that's an actual view from the White House, though. But yeah, definitely a dig at Trump tweeting from his personal "throne"!
@@MsCatstaff really just politicians in general. Hence using the Capitol and Troys crown being oil rigs. Trump is FAR from the only politician more concerned with social media clout than doing their jobs, but def one of the worst offenders. Just look at the BS in the stimulus bill for example Also, the amount of people who don’t know the difference in the Capitol and the White House really saddens me.
@@LeglessWonder Oh, I'll grant you that! But between that 2016 meme that mis-identified some other terminally rich person's gold toilet as belonging to Trump, plus the fact that when he bought the old Northeast Shuttle service and rebranded it as the luxurious Trump Shuttle back in the late 80s, he redecorated the airplane bathrooms with gold-colored fixtures, the gold toilet definitely screams Trump.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Easy enough to miss on the first viewing, there is a LOT going on in this video. One thing I probably didn't spot until at least my tenth viewing was the bit where Floor and the girl are sitting on the floor in the gray room, with what looks like a carnival in the window, the girl is crying, but when Floor pokes her to smile for a selfie, she uses her fingers to force the corners of her mouth up into a smile despite the mascara running down her little cheeks.
We were wondering if perhaps the young girl in the white dress in this video might be Floor's daughter, Freja. We don't really know, do we? BTW - we've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.😉
She is a young actress named Emma - Floor would never use her own daughter and is very careful to screen her from media attention. Emma is named in the closing credits, as are all the others involved. BTW, if you submit your resume here, we can search for better opportunities than selling car warranties online :-)
I saw another comment mentioning that it's not her daughter. But I've been up now for about 30 hrs straight and my brain isn't working at full speed. Srry totally missed extended warranty bit.
You pretty much nailed it - too much done for appearance sake with no substance, do what it takes to get clicks and follows (model gradually showing more) and all the other its others have mentioned already. A big A for interpretation, you are exactly right. They aren't speaking against the use of technology, they are speaking against the addiction to technology in society.
yeah I agree, it would be hard to argue against tech with all the benefits it brings to everyone, but the way we use it leaves alot to be desired.
