    Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel. It is not surprising that the current market sentiment is extremely pessimistic. In today's economy, assistance is critical if we are to survive.

    One of the problems which has to be addressed are organizations like Blackrock (?) whose encouraged gentrification of traditionally black and brown neighborhoods. They're buying up property held by families for year's at a super low cost and flipping the homes and charging super high rents. They are in some cases creating muti-family units from these homes to earn super profits. Some blame also foreign money. 💰 These companies have no "class" they come to families at the worst times generally after a passing of a loved one. They have no problem sending 2 or 3 appeals a week, plus phone calls. There are serveral companies competing. I know this to be true because its our families story. My beloved 👩🏾 mother the "matriarch" of our family was bedridden and with the help of healthcare worker's we kept her in her home during Covid-19, she was on hospice. She was 94 yrs old. They were pursuing her none stop. Our family was angered at their greed, and won't sell our parent's home to them. We will keep the property or sell it to a family. This is why in part people are homeless in my opinion. I've managed food pantries and our organization fed the homeless for years. The trend then was we were beginning to see entire families coming to eat at the end of the month because food had run out. We also gave out toiletries. Sounds much worst now. Thank you for this important conversation. Jesus Christ once said, "the poor you'd always have with you." He expects us to be our bothers and sisters keeper. This isn't happening apparently. Thanks. 🕊

    The issue is that the costs of goods has risen higher than the rate of inflation.
    Adjusting for inflation, Americans today make 1 dollar more than those in 1970.
    Yet the costs of all goods and services have seen dramatic increases around 300% higher.
    How do you expect people to make the same amount of money as they did 50 years ago while upping the costs of everything tenfold???
    It isn’t lack of effort or “a spoiled generation”. It’s an economy which is so volatile that it has killed any chance for future generations to thrive.
    Capitalism is dead in this country. We aren’t a free market anymore. We are a Corporatist society fed lies to hate each other to distract us from the true crimes in our society

    Me, my husband, and my 4 kids are fixing to be homeless. He’s looking for another job but can’t find anything that will pay enough to meet our bare minimum necessities, my newborn is dependent on nursing to survive and no formula for me to be able to send her to daycare so I can work, not that I could afford daycare for both her and my 2 year old anyways… my car broke down last month & we can’t afford to fix it rn so we’re down to one car that can only carry 3 kids at a time. We can afford up to $1,000 a month for rent but have to have a minimum of 3 bedrooms and there’s nothing available & weve been looking since March! Even low income housing is completely full, no resources or help because they are already strained and long wait lists. We live in Alabama too, so we have lower prices here than most other states but it’s still completely unaffordable because wages here are also lower…. I’m terrified right now and feel like no one cares except for others who are in the same position. If it didn’t cost so much just to immigrate we would be gone from this horrible country!

    • @Lillie504
      @Lillie504 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There has been an increase in evictions from the inability to pay sudden rent increases while being legally bound to a contract in which the owner/corporation has the right to change this at anytime.
      While credit scores don’t automatically exclude potential renters, it does cost an exorbitant amount more than what single parents make i which they have to pay twice the amount of what it’s worth.
      Pay has only increased some( and not enough )while we are at 91 percent inflation. So the answer to increase in wages to billionaires is to raise the cost and continue out sourcing for a penny’s dollar.

    Two years ago I could afford rent, bills car and insurance. Last October I had to choose between eating and driving. I chose eating. 7 months out of 12 in Phoenix the a/c is on 24/7. Verizon for no reason upped my monthly bill $10.00. Check the weight on cereal. Same size box but less weight. A one bedroom apartment that is 22 years old with 680sq feet is now at $1420.00 monthly from $900.00 2 years ago. The newer apartments are even higher. This including the hidden charges that can be $50-150 a month on top of base rent. So when they say “starting at”factor in for tax,renters insurance and the maintenance,water,trash,sewer and know water is split amongst all tenants. I am one person paying the same for water as a 3 bedroom apt with multiple tenants. This is professional corporate rental greed that get their tax cuts. Since minimum wage is going up so is everything else. God forbid the rich pay taxes or share holders see less return. Rich get richer and middle class disappears. Still proud to be an American? I mean still proud to be a citizen of the great super power USA? We don’t want to confuse America for the USA. There is a functional country to our north that will need to build a wall.
