last year was my first year attempting to trap and had moderate success with dog proofs. I had a friend give me 7 Duke 1.5s that are fairly rusty, should I wire brush excess rust off? most seem rust enough that the pan tension is quite high. Or can I adjust tension and boil without excess rust removal. thanks for the videos!
I am brand new havnt even purchased a trap yet. My question is if I catch a bobcat , then I assume i will also need all the equipment and knowledge to skin, flesh ,stretch etc. or do some people just take it somewhere to get processed. I realize this sounds soo basic but I have nobody I know that traps so I am just trying to learn all I can before I dive in. Thanks for not laughing outloud in advance lol.
Hey John my name is Chris I live in West Virginia also and I'm also new at trapping I retired last year and I'm trying my hand at it just kind of wondering what area of West Virginia you live in I live in the Petersburg Moorefield Franklin area just give me a shout when you can text me or reply on this website

Just keep watching videos and let us know if we can help you in your processes. Best of luck. 🐾
Join a trappers association for your district. So you have access to trappers so willing to help you.
No wax??
I don't wax.....I keep them clean and truly feel it's an unnecessary process.
Good deal
Do you wax your traps
👍
A couple pounds of wax in pot wouldn't hurt.
If that works for you OK but I'll wax mine I guess it's a personal preference but I have more confidence using wax...
