  • I'm not one of those people who hop on "hate" trains, I listen to music and give my honest opinions on it, obviously I'm always gonna respect the artist as a person, but the art as a whole can be critiqued. I could care less what anybody says because it's my opinion, but BTS is a good group and make "good" music overall.... it's just not something I can really get into and lost in, purely because I can't understand what they're saying... if the music was absolutely amazing to me sonically, it wouldn't matter, I'd add them to a playlist, but to me, they're just decent-good... still talented, because hit-making is in itself a talent, but nonetheless..... HAVE A BLESSED DAY !!! more content otw.. Peace and Love.

Hey there, I appreciate your honesty and what you are trying to do with your channel. Straight up with it. You heard what folks said, lyrics are EVERYTHING to the song. Kpop is all about visuals, lyrics, production across lots of genre. BTS is big for a reason but there are others to explore like Stray Kids, EXO, NCT, and Shinee. BTS' fanbase is millions, Dynamite is a trojan horse but if you really take the time and listen to the albums, read the lyrics...you will be shook Please, journey thru other kpop bands, you will find many are good. If you looking to grow, just be consistent and honest with your reactions. Good luck 💜💜💜

Hey. Love your reaction. You should redo this with the visuals and lyrics because Kpop is all of it. Koreans are doing what we used to do, give you actual content that is sonically and visually stimulating.

It doesn’t mean much if you don’t take the time to know what the songs are saying... SUBTITLES are there

You mentioned language barrier and you didn't understand what they're saying. You should watch the Music Videos and turn on the English captions. Or play the lyric videos of the songs. BTS is the whole package. Sing, rap, dance, choreography, deep meaningful lyrics, Music videos and live performances. Watch their music videos with english captions and live performances and you'll see the difference. Kpop as a whole is about the full audio and visual experience. Audio is only half the experience. Thank you for checking out BTS. Hope you check out more of their songs. I recommend Mic Drop, Dope and Ugh.

One thing you should know, bts are lyrical geniuses, so no checking out lyrics is quite disappointing because their following comes from their heartfelt lyricism, despite the language barrier. The thing with BTS is that the only song that get radioplay is Dynamite and the it's also the only one with charts longetivity. Life Goes On might've debuted n1 but it got blacklisted from radio so it fell out the second week. And it's so unfair because the music industry only support their one english song when their other songs are way better, both lyrically, production, input, art....ect the comparison with Drake is not that great cuz he HAS INDUSTRY SUPPORT, he gets tons of radio, tons of playsiting... ect while bts doesn't. The success of their music only comes from how huge their fandom is, which is why i feel like they are more organic in a way where it's only people who love their music that listen to their music, not someone who just opened the radio and heard it but doesn't necessarily like it. I also don't think majority of the songs you chose actually showcase their best songs. Only Blue and Grey is REALLY amazing out of all, (it's the LYRICS, and the production, i also really love slow passed songs so if you don't like ballads you are obviously not going to like it much)
even though i like all of them, but on a different degree. If you listen to a full album with lyrics you will understand. Here itt doesn't feel like you do and it's ok.
Their Hip-hop and RnB songs are the best to me. None of them where in those 5 songs you listened. BTS started off as a hip-hop group, unlike what most people think. They were basically underdogs and debuted with a style that goes AGAINST the kpop norms and kpop Industry. Kpop isn't a genre of music, it's just a music industry. BTS does pop, edm, hip-hop, trap, rock, neosoul, rnb, jazz, Orchestral music, ballads and more. Songs like louder than bombs, disease, pied piper, house of cards, UGH, rain, hip-hop phile, Ddeang, Still with you, Black Swan, the entire D-2 and Mono mixtapes are my faves from them. Most of them are hip-hop and RnB, and most of them have really amazing and genius lyricsm, which is quite Rare in kpop or in boybands in general. The website DOOLSETBANGTAN translation accurately their songs and gives language context like the worldplays and stuff.

I think the issue is that you are too focused on not understanding the lyrics instead on the sound and instruments. Most of us don’t understand, but there are lyrics in English. Maybe you should check out the rap lines. They have hundreds of songs cover all genres.
