Forgot to mention that once you launch the game with F4SE you can verify it was properly installed by opening "settings" in the main menu and it should have F4SE where the version number is.
I got it off gog for several reasons... drm free, once installed, don't have to open the gog galaxy program to play it ever, and you can turn off auto updates right in the software and third and most importantly, was able to create 2 instances of the game so when fallout london came out, i was able to just make a second copy of fallout 4, just for FOLON, the only caveat being to run FOEdit, you do need to change the install directory registry key to the version you want to use it on. Also they still don't even have the crap next gen version yet to begin with :P oh yeah and it was $10 when i got it.
Yeah that certainly sounds better, but since I got the updates disabled already all I have to do is create a new profile in Mod Organizer for Fallout London and I'm done. Works better for me because I have so much crap on my computer I couldn't actually fit another copy of FO4. :P
@OrionDakota the gog version does have one huge issue but with a very easy fix. The problem was it took hours combing through reddit to find it. When using it with mo2 and f4se, you have to do the additional step of adding in the arguments for the f4se link in mo2 -forcesteamlauncher or it won't find the plug-ins. Don't ask me why it works, it just does. Also, I have like 12tb of disk space so no anxiety there lol
If I already have a few mods installed from the games main menu, am I required to move those files into the mod organizer? Or can I just leave those be and only do it for any future mods I get from nexus from here on out?
Yes you will be just fine. I believe you will see them in Mod Organizer as "non-mo" as in they are mods that are currently installed but not managed by MO. Same way the DLC files show up and any manual installed mods.
It will not pop up my DLC's on the left side like it does yours when I connect my FO4.. It says something about it being in a special folder? I cant find the actual came in my folders though because its downloaded through Steam, and I am just all kinds of confused rn xD
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues. Sounds like you may have the MO2 configured incorrectly. I believe the default Steam location is under C Drive/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Fallout 4. You may have to restart MO2 for it to recognize changes to the settings. I believe you change the game directory from the "instance manager" in MO2. Let me know if this helps at all.
