Hope this gets you a ton of views. This is really needed seeing how many people are having trouble. Bit of work to get London working, but it's worth it. I find it so much better than FO4 vanilla.
You are a Godsend. I feel like I'm pretty decent at modding with MO2, but was having issues getting the mod to work correctly on the GOG version of FO4 GOTY with MO2. I applied certain Steam-related steps from this video in GOG form (skipped downgrading because, at the very least, the GOG version of FO4 GOTY does not require downgrading) and the mod is working perfectly now. Thank you! The main bug I was having was not being able to select a female character (choosing female would just result in a male character regardless) and, without spoilers for future users looking for help, a certain additional menu after choosing SPECIAL stats and character naming, was also not appearing (research suggests that the additional menu not appearing, for whatever reason, was tied to the bug that prevented female character selection. Maybe that was reliant on F4SE properly loading?).
I also found out through some research that you may need to add a launch argument to the F4SE executable in MO2 to force the f4se_steam_loader dll to load on GOG versions of FO4. Apparently, that doesn't autoload when launching F4SE in MO2 on GOG FO4 installs. The launch argument is "-forcesteamloader" without the quotes.
Thanks for this response...I was about to ask if this Install method could be applied to a GOG FO4 install...I have a many hours A Story Wealth play through ongoing and uninstalling anything is a no go. I might get to play FOLON this year after all :)
My favorite MO2 Bethesda Modding mentor. Like many, first found you modding New Vegas and Skyrim. Thanks for coming back. Much prefer to run FOLON as a mod in MO2 but given how unique it is, wasn't sure how to go about it. Looking forward to more FOLON videos.

Just to add to this you can add Bethini to Executables in the dropdown menu next to the "Run" button then when you run Bethini from mo2 it will not ask to save the ini files in your documents it will know to save to the profile.
Click tools / Executables / Click + / Find Bethini where ever you installed it. / Click Apply / Click Ok.
From the dropdown menu select bethini and hit run.

I really think Microsoft should buy this mod and convert it into a standalone game, so it can be on Xbox and be separate from fallout 4. This is the closest thing we'll get to a full fallout game for a very very long time.

The screen captured showing all the steps is harder te read because I have a 1080p monitor. Your footage is 1440p where smaller text and buttons, are easy to read/see. It's not that I can't make it out, it's just less pleasant and costs more effort for my eyes to follow you while repeating the steps on my pc. Other than that, great video! very useful info
That's good input, I'll see what I can do for the future about increasing font size.
When using MO2 with Fallout: London, once you get the game installed and you're ready to log in make a FEMALE test character first. If the character is still male the script extender isn't loading fully despite what the system is telling you.
The solution I found was to simply install any mod with a ".dll" file directly into the game folder. Yes, this means installing Fallout: London into the game not in MO2. For some reason on some rigs MO2 doesn't want to load .dll files from it's virtual file system.
Essentially, the main mod and any mod that is dependent on Address Library needs to go into the game's "Data" folder directly.
This is on the GoG version of the game, I didn't want to deal with downgrading the Steam version so I don't know if it has the same issue. It may also be a random thing that isn't affecting every player. Lucky me.

@@DirtyWeaselMedia Yeah, it was kind of annoying. I'm still using MO2 despite the fact that this bug kind of defeated the whole point of using a mod manager like MO2. I just prefer the organizational structure.
I'm also installing all my other mods (not many) in MO2 and Address Library itself works find installed in MO2 for me. There have been a couple of mentions of this bug on the GoG forums I think, but it might be rare and related to my setup somehow.
Interesting. Just watching through this vid and reading comments. I had this same thing happen to me. Well, I did not do things "exactly" the same. I used RootBuilder to enable F4SE rather than copy/paste it into the game directory. I had assumed I had done something wrong so started over from scratch 2x. Not only could I not select a FEMALE character, even selecting a MALE character the game skipped the TRAITS dialog screen, so I could not pick traits. The game worked, as long as I wanted a traitless male character. Since, I hate messing up the game directory I installed Vortex and learned how it worked, for the first time, and went through almost the same steps (slightly different for Vortex), everything worked fine. Well I say fine, I had to install Buffout4, and make a couple of other changes to stop 90% of the crashes. Don't get me wrong... I am not advocating Vortex, I love MO2, just could not get it to work on this occasion.
help i did follow yout turorial but i get this:
The failed plugins are:
• PRKF version 1 (PRKF.dll, Fallout London) reported as incompatible during load.
when i look up the internet they say i need to update PRKF but i am afraid to do so what if the game does not functions as it should be ?

PRKF.dll is located at Fallout London\F4SE\plugins meaning that is was supplied with Fallout London.
My first thought is that it was corrupted somewhere along the way. First step is try reinstalling the Data folder from Fallout London, if that doesn't work re-download the mod from GOG and reinstall the new Data folder.
FYI, PRKF.dll is from the mod "LevelUoMenuEX" which is from the FO4 Nexus. It is a version dependent mod, it is likely that Fallout London is using the version for 1.10.163 located at the bottom of the "Old Files" in Files tab for the mod page.
That's all I know right now, let me know if you get it fixed.

The first patch for Falllout London 1.01 is out now, will you be doing a video showing how to update the game using MO2? Is it as easy as downloading the new version of the mod and replacing the "data" mod we made in this video with the new one? Thanks for your videos btw, they are always the easiest to understand
I stopped work on "Essential Mods", and started on "Update". London now incorporates Buffout 4 and XSE, so that negated part of Essentials video. There are other differences that need to be discussed. Overall pretty easy.
This is the best mo2 installation guide for FOLON that I have found. One question though, doesn’t the downgrader revert Fallout in your Steam folder so that it is no longer compatible with your next gen profile? I can see using a vanilla game profile in parallel if it is based on a pre-nextgen set of mods but I can’t see how your nextgen profile can keep working alongside FOLON unless you also have a current nextgen Fallout game root in a second location linked to it.
You are correct it removes files from the main directory of FO4, so if you wanted to go back to Next Gen you would have to verify game files on Steam to restore it. Keeping a profile for NG in MO2 would preserve your modlist for when you do restore.
I thought about discussing parallel installations of NG and London but it would have added too much time to an already long video. (It would require a second install of MO2.)

How can I set MO2 so that it can also download the Fallout 4 London mods from nexus Mods with the Mod Manager download button and not just the Fallout 4 mods?
It is related to an API handling issue within MO2. I just checked with the MO2 team, and they are working on a fix and as of yesterday a new .dll was sent out for testing. In the meantime, we just have to do manual downloads and drop them in downloads tab for MO2. Not optimal, but that's where we are.
Thanks for making this. The other times I have used MO2 has been via Wabbajack scripts, which totally leave the original install folder untouched. I will be attempting an install, more likely it will be 2 or 3 tries before I get it right. I feel your tutorial could have benefitted from showing how to make the initial MO2 installation. It gets a little confusing as the initial directory you were dealing with was the newly installed FO4 directory in SteamApps/Common suddenly the directory you are dealing with is the MO2-FO4 directory in SteamApps/Common. Where did this come from?
Anyway lot's of useful info and I'm sure I will muddle through successfully. I rarely play Flatscreen FO4 (so I'm not worried about messing it up) but I've got about 70 hours in modded FO4 VR.
Looking forward to playing the London mod, have recently got back into playing flatscreen Skyrim so this will be a nice addition to my gameplay.
I had to keep things short (already a long video) I would recommend Gamerpoets channel, he has a bunch of series on MO2.

I created a portable instance of MO2, installed F4SE manually in the downgraded game folder and I'm about to add the London "data" to the downloads in MO2 and will move .ini files. Hopefully that will work, if not I'll try something else. Don't worry I'm not looking for support here ;)

Great Guide! I followed to the end but ran into some trouble. Now, I can launch the game, but it's playing the default fo4 theme music on the main page and I cannot start a new game. I changed the ini files as instructed. Not sure what I am missing. Any help will be appreciated!
Update: I copied the lines under archive in the fallout.ini files to the other two ini files. Now I can start a new game. However, the main page is still playing the fo4 theme music
@@chenmlml Do you have any additional edits in your fallout4custom.ini? My vanilla version shows only about 10 line of code. When I had my full "optimized" version of that ini, London would do the same as your issue. If you reinstalled FO4, you get a vanilla version of fallout4custom.ini in your Documents>MyGames>Fallout4

@@DirtyWeaselMedia Late to the party, but nevertheless: I've installed FOLON without a mod manager (don't play the other versions ), and got the original main menu music as well, so it might be an issue with the 1.01 update and not with modding. Doesn't affect playing and it's the correct music, when I go back to main menu from the game.
Followed this step by step but no F4SE shows up as an option for running the game in Mod Organizer 2

You have to add the f4se_loader.exe from the Fallout 4 GOTY directory to MO2 manually, in the drop down menu where you launch the game in MO2 select and then "add executables" button in the top right of the popup menu, browse to the FO4 folder and add the f4se loader. Name it whatever you want and then in the box where it say arguments add this command without quotes "-forcesteamloader" and save.
You should be good to go after this, you might not need the argument command, for me I'm using the GOG ver. and had to use this line or the game would not load and inject my f4se plugins correctly. YMMV
@OriginalSaku has the right idea. If MO2 does not auto find f4se_loader.exe in the main FO4 directory you can it as an executable (gears icon).

What happens if I'm using GOG Fallout 4 instead? Because GOG hasn't been updated to Fallout 4 Next-Gen therefore, we don't have the creation club content. Can I just go to 21:45 Installing MO2, I rather have a separate MO2 just for GOG version - i.e. standalone version, as this will not conflict with STEAM version of MO2 that's already created for FO4.
My notes on a clean directory should be useful, but the GOG version doesn't need downgrading. (if memory is correct) You are correct, the installation section would work for a MO2 for your GOG version.
@@DirtyWeaselMedia What do we use for an ini that goes with the f4se.exe on GOG? I wouldn't think the steamloader.ini would be correct. I tried it but it doesn't end up showing up in the dropdown on MO2.
The game would complain the xdi.dll wasnt loaded if you dont put it in the fo4 folder so it has to be in the mod and fo4 folder
Can i ask what the actual advantage of using an archive instead of directly copying to the mod folder is? Im always short on space on my drives and wasting an extra 35gb when i already have the Data folder as a backup (plus i can always download it from GOG!) seems like a complete waste of drive space.
That's why I mentioned it as an option, just placing the data folder directly into "mods" does save space.
Having an archive in your download tab allows you to remove and reinstall the mod at will. Also, some people (like me) are hoarders and keep everything... just in case.
My Mod Organizer 2 disappeared and my Mods quit working :/ Not sure what happened last time I played my game crashed and it stopped working.
That's weird. I don't have an answer for that. Is the MO2 folder gone from where you installed it? Maybe Windows just dump your shortcuts.

Not positive I can help, because I ended up using Vortex; but, when you are launching the game from within MO2 are you selecting Fallout4 or are you selecting F4SE? If Fallout4... is F4SE even a selection in the drop down list of executables in MO2?

@@vickylou2424 In MO2. On the right hand side. In the Plugins tab. Do you see the LondonWorldSpace.esm and the LondonWorldSpace-DLCBlock.esp and are both of them activated?
I have tried twice to comment here but, they seem to get deleted. So, I will try a shorter comment. Check within Mod Organizer that the two Fallout London plugins are activated in the Plugins tab.
If you try to download with manager on the specific fallout london nexus page you cant download it with mod organizer 2 since it cant recognize it

Yes, once it's installed in MO2, there is no need to keep all the files from GOG.
baka framework doesn't even appear for me I try to follow these guides to a T and nothing works.
They removed it in the Update.
