No not all kpop is like this
New Jeans are VERY Different to the general vibe of most of todays kpop
They have an early 2000s UK House and Garage sound (house and garage incorporates elements of r'n'b, hiphop, drum and bass amongst other dance music)
No one in kpop has ever attempted this sound.. it was a big thing in the uk but unheard of in kpop before.
I dont know if you have heard the likes of Craig David, Miss Dynamite, Artful Dodger, Misteeq... but thats the sound they have.
Its generally a slow r'n'b or soulful vocal (or rap hip hop even) alongside a much faster synth and drum electro offstep beat... they shouldnt match but they do.. and it sounds awesome.
Newjeans fans exaggerate, their style is almost the same as the old kpop bands, Hybe just positions themselves as if they created something new, but this is not the case. Also, each group has its own sound and there are groups that are really doing something new

I suggest you haven't as your comment is very vague. True NewJeans are more akin with 2nd Gen sound because of the softer vocals and dance beats but the likes of T-ara, SNSD and Girls Day just for example had tracks that were more EDM which is entirely different from NewJeans sound... it was a far more european type of dance music... I disliked kpop since 3rd gen but heard 'Super Shy' randomly on some youtube shorts video or something and couldnt beleive my ears.. i'm a long time fan of kpop and lots of other music genres in general.. UK house and garage being one of my favourite growing up with it in the UK.. I recognised the sound straight away and it was the first time i'd heard it in kpop... Just because something might sound 'similiar' to your ears doesnt mean they are the same... you even say the sound is 'almost' the same.... i disagree but even your argument of it being 'almost' the same means its still different lol. also hybe havent created anything new at all... no one is saying that.... just using music styles that haven't been used in kpop before... so yes.. new in kpop.. but not new if youre familiar with the sound they are mimicking.

newjeans was introduced OUT OF NO WHERE. one day hybe dropped their pre-debut MV "Hype Boy". Everyone was so confused but it was such a breath of fresh air for kpop that everyone started to LOVE newjeans. From their pre-debut stage to now they have been trending every day and with every song. its incredible how fast they have grown but you can probably tell that they deserve it!
They dropped attention first then Hybe boy was released as like intros to them😊

i accidentally discovered newjeans about 5 minutes after they dropped their first video because i was checking bts music video counts lmao. been a fan ever since, and I mostly listen to classical music. they are just so good and so innovative

They debuted under 1 of the big 4. Their debut was highly anticipated bcus of their director Min haejin, who also worked on other very famous groups before, like Fx shinee EXO and Red velvet. I believe 3 of the girls had early childhood predebute exposure. But other than that, the girlies worked very hard and DELIVERED.
I got into kpop in 2018 because American music just made me feel down and haven't turned back. Enjoy the good vibes!

i love when people who doesn't know newjeans react to them coz you'll know they'll give sincere and genuine reactions without any prejudgment about the group. Thank you for ur reactions! ❤ just to give you some context about newjeans, they are currently the TOP girlgroup in korea and kpop in general. it's crazy because they've only debuted more than a year ago. they are also well loved by locals who don't really listen to kpop so they have a lot of song entries on billboard, spotify and apple music because their songs are vwry catchy and listenable. I hope you can liste to them moreee ❤

The only song you might find controversial lyrics in is Cookie; that’s a whole rabbit hole. The song itself is good but people have mixed opinions about the lyrics. Of course the girls themselves aren’t at fault for that, though!
honestly its hyein singing it that gets me.... if she was even haerins age it wouldnt be THAT bad... but still bad nonetheless... if all girls were 18+ at the time of recording i wouldnt be that disgusted by it.. weirded a little but not disgusted.. its the fact hyein was what 14 or 15 when that was made... thats why i cant listen to it.. kinda gross

Enjoyed the reaction! I know NewJeans but I only watched their Super Shy and Ditto music video. This is kind of a new experience for me, too. Haha. NewJeans is still pretty new to the kpop industry. Their music is so refreshing and different. I love it when kpop labels take inspiration from other music genres and make amazing music from it. I guess my recommendations would be to react to other groups that came out around the same time.

BUT its really the only song that showcases their full vocal range as they go hard on it.. most of their other stuff they have soft airy tone (which is beutiful but doesnt show you their deeper heavier ranges) also the song is a banger... oh and its entirley in english so you sing along lol

A minor confusion on my part you mentioned listening to blackpink but not really feeling the songs you heard but then said sorry ARMY. Just a quick bit of info ARMY is BTS fandom and BlackPink have Blinks so I’m a little confused as to which group you listened to. Hey bestie 🩵 Oh! I didn’t know blackpinks fans were called Blinks!!! I really didn’t give either group a real chance tbh I never really sat and listened to a song completely through. Back then I never gave new songs or artists a chance my songlist is full of music my mom would play around the house when I was a kid mixed with like mainstream American music. New Jeans makes me wanna be open minded and try to get into new music! Do you have a BTS recommendation for a first timer?!

@@Nicoleboojie tbh before BTS came into my life I only listened to pretty much R&B/hip hop maybe some pop and a lil rock but mainly R&B I ran across BTS on TH-cam watching a dance practice video and was hooked to the dancing first then I found out it was their song they were dancing to and I was intrigued and wanted to know what the lyrics were and if they had more. I had no idea in 2017 I was watching a dance practice video from 2014 lol I just knew them boys could move! As far as recommendations go every song speaks to me differently and has its own unique message but maybe give these a try- Danger (this is the one that got me hooked), Boy in Luv, Fire, Fake Love, Black Swan, ON, I Need You.. those are a few of my favs that have music videos unfortunately my most favorite songs don’t have music videos but they do have live performances and some dance practices like Tomorrow, Born Singer, Run BTS, So What and Attack on Bangtan 🤪 I don’t say all this to get you to listen to them as this is your journey but if you do these are a few of my favs I’m sure other ARMYs will have more. I won’t even go into solo songs cuz there are those as well as songs that are just the rappers and some songs that are just the singers but it’s all BTS. Right now they are serving in the military so we were blessed with solo albums to keep us fed and occupied those are definitely worth a listen. I’m an ARMY for sure but I do listen to other groups and soloists too like XG (Japanese group but on a KPop /global forum), Jessie, TXT and G(IDLE) a few other artists

oohhh newjeans! I love them, they debuted in a time where k-pop was oversatured with girl-crush concepts and "noise" oriented type of music, so "strong concepts". People instantly loved the fresh air they brought back to k-pop. They have more of a laid back type of music, easy listening, I guess that's why they're one of the most popular and successfull girl groups out there right now

New Jeans & XG the 2 most overall talented new groups out today. Watch XG's "Left Right" (was ranked in the top 100 songs of 2023 by Rolling Stone & Spotify), "Shooting Star" (was #1 on a few big YT reactors top 2023 list) and "Winter Without You." Also New Jeans "Hypeboy" and "Omg" are amazing songs.

XG is japanese girlgroup but their song is full english and they promote in south korea. They are amazing girl group that can make u fallin deeply. They're 7 dancer (why I call them dancer? nah not if you like the newjeans sound.. le sserafim are more your standard hard kpop sound.. although given they are better than most its still the generic sound of kpop today... which in my opinion isnt good.. i miss the 2nd gen

@@jaynadiah5498cookie means cd/their songs in the song. baking cookie is another term for burning cd in korea. in the song, they're talking about how their song is satisfying, great and leaves people wanting more. metaphor, slangs, words etc can mean entirely different depends on the country and it just so happened that cookie can refer to something sensual in the west. most of the lyrics in cookie is in korean and koreans themselves have said that cookie's lyrics is just cute and fun even if you watch their reaction videos here in youtube. just wanna put this out there.
