    Regarding the last comic in the Spirou freebie, it's actually aimed at a young audience. The main character is a video game character trying to save the princess and one of them or both always die at the end of the page.
    So basically, the shock aspect is weakened because, just like a video game, the main character respawn constantly.
    This specific page is a bit difficult to show on the internet because the internet is dominated by the USA and mass shootings happen there more than in other similar countries, but otherwise, I don't think it would disturb a kid.

      Aah, so it more like a "OMG I killed Kenny!"-style gag. For me it was the best page in the magazine. I liked the absurdity of it. It was the brain tissue bursting out of the characters skull that made me wonder if it's suitable for children. But you are probably right about kids seeing much worse things on their phones anyway😅

    Never thought i would see "kid paddle" on this channel. Cool stuff. Also kid paddleis what the last comic was known as in English. I used to watch the cartoon adaptation here in Canada as a kid. I recognize that art style anywhere

      Looks very 90’s style which could explain why I’ve missed this character completely.

      I think here in France there were little pieces of Kid Paddle appearing in video game magazines in the 90s

    I see Sylvain Thunberg had another series called "OUTLAWS", which looked like a continuation of ORBITAL. I enjoyed ORBITAL, but it looks like OUTLAWS either was not translated into English after the second issue or it was never finished. Any updates on OUTLAWS? Did you read TOUR with Google Lens?

    • @analogcomics
      @analogcomics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have volume 1 of Outlaws. As far as I remember the second volume won’t be out in English before June. I’m quite sure there is only two volumes out in French too. I don’t know how many albums Runberg has planned for Outlaws.
      Outlaws is a spin-off of Orbital. It is the story of Kristina, Caleb Swanys sister. It’s not direct continuation but rather origin story of Kristina so these adventures run side by side with orbital or even sooner.
      I have read that Runberg is already working on next Orbital album too. As you know last part had a big cliffhanger.
      I read La Tour with Lens. It’s not too wordy. I really need that second album soon😅Also have to get the last three parts for Urban.

      While I was there I did decide to visit Angoulême again. It's hard to get enough days off form work. I'd like to have three days for festival plus two days for travel so it'll require five days minimum. I did put the Festival Travel Application forward to my wife also😜If all goes well my next video will be a beginners guide to that Festival. There's certain things worth knowing to get the most out of it.

    I actually bought volumes 1 & 2 of Orbital yesterday ! They were sold as a pack for the price of 1.
    I had it on my radar ever since the video you made about it in the early days of your channel. Just needed an occasion.
    Did you know that Sillage has some spin-offs called "les chroniques de Sillage" and & "Sillage premières armes" ? I haven't read them though, i'm pretty late on Sillage I'd need to re-read everything.

    • @analogcomics
      @analogcomics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A very good deal! And best to buy in pairs anyway as all missions are two albums long.
      I have one les chroniques de Sillage in Danish. They're short add-on stories from different artists that are best to enjoy after reading the main story. I too re-read Sillage often to get back on track with the larger schemes in the background.

      @@analogcomics now i've got my eyes on some "tirage de tête" limited éditions of Sillage on the used market but they are quite expensive ranging from 65 to 150€. I already had volume 9 and they are pretty cool

    • @analogcomics

      @@roml1289 😱Never heard of these before. Now you have to explain! My quick search brought out Bruno Graff luxury prints. Sillage albums say the print size is around 300 copies. Is that an imprint of Delcourt or how does this work? And what is different from basic albums?

    • @roml1289
      @roml1289 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@analogcomics i actually don't know all the details but here is what i know:
      "Tirage de tête" roughly translate to "head print". They are some limited printings that come out BEFORE the official release of the album. They come with exclusive artwork for the cover, the binding is usually made of fabric. They also come with separate illustrations, one of them being signed by Buchet. During my search yesterday i also discovered that some sillage albums have 2 different tirage de tête with different covers. I've had a volume 9 like that for years and discovered an alternate cover yesterday.
      I ordered a volume 6 for dirt cheap 10€ but it's missing the separate illustrations. I'll at least enjoy the cover.
      Those tirages de tête are of course not exclusive to Sillage

      @@roml1289 Before the official release😮This only shows how Franco-Belgian BD market is like our oceans. Us who don't know French language only know what's on the surface. So many interesting things to learn. And I'm sure that French readers - being too familiar with the subject - don't see these details as interesting.

      @@roml1289 I noticed but decided to wait for english translation. I do hope the english version will sell well. It might give Manu Larcenet the prestige needed to get other works like Blast translated.
      As a marketing idea for European comics having a French artist adapt important work of literacy from USA is brilliant.

      @@analogcomics Why Manu Larcenet is not translated in english is one more of those mysteries i try hard to understand.
