They should make this with a half or full bowl and bubble level, snap locks, then it would be a winner. It looks nice, can’t stand the price of Peak Design travel tripods
I've noticed that carbon fibre tripods have come down in price a lot in recent years. However, the weight saving isn't as much as I expected. I used to have an all metal Manfrotto which I recently replaced with a carbon fibre Three Legged Thing about the same size and I think it's even heavier, although the metal parts are more solidly made.
over many years I have purchased many different tripods and have never found the perfect solution. now with huge advances in stabilization within camera bodies I tend not to use tripods.....but there are times when we just absolutely need to put up with the burden of the darn things. zen billings.
I did the same thing but I had a Vanguard Veo travel tripod. One leg collapsed. The 3-legged thing is a little heavier yet it’s carbon fibre. However, it is far more sturdier than the Veo and I trust it more.
Matti, where did you get that brown leather hand strap? I've been looking for one like that. Also, nice tripod for lightweight travel. I might pick one up as my main tripod is much too big for travel.
Considering this or the sirui 5cx, other than the ballhead vs the video type head, the legs are versy different, the weight is virtually the same. I wonder what is more stable when fully extended.
my needs are to statically record music events or myself dancing with bands, so not much panning, but often i will start a video with hand held close ups of musicians before putting iphone onto tripod to dance with musicians.
however lately i’ve not had access to a lightweight tripod with quickrelease and was forced to use self stick while in Finland eg Finnish Beach Adventure & Buckdance Vlog - Klaus & Miss Moonshine, Vuorisaari, Finland th-cam.com/video/FjjzcSomHbM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with iPhone accessories and I can't recommend anything based on my own experience. I guess almost any small ball head would do and then you could mount a phone clamp on the ball head.
@@mattisulanto huomenta. you would think, but I got this one that in the wide angle shows the actual adjustment button on the attachment itself, which is very annoying. over on the right side of view. But I thank you for your response.

@@mattisulanto ´No, every millimeter you raise the center column, the tripod gets more unsturdy, you do use a tripod to get steady shots (not drinks 😇).
There used to be a lot of cheap and flimsy tripods on the market which were pretty much useless. They seem to have disappeared thankfully, and even small light tripods are well engineered from good quality materials, and therefore sturdy. Obviously though with two different sized tripods of the same build quality the heavier one is going to be steadier but it's unlikely to be of significance to most people.
Love this guy. Really genuine! Thank you very much for this honest review.
My pleasure!
Love the design, materials and the price. Nice find, Matti!
Thanks!
appreciate the review, I used your code.
Awesome, thank you!

With those added features it would probably cost a bit more.

True, carbon fibre is not always lighter than metal.

Thanks,. My daughter made that strap years ago, so it's a one off custom job😀

I think the SIRUI AM-255 +SL-100 Carbon fiber tripod might be a better option for me as it has a photo ball head rather than a video head set up.
Yeah, for photography probably so.

If that is a question for me, I can't help, because I have not compared Sirui tripods side by side.
kiva review. what ball head would you recommend for an iphone pro max for this? (small)

Siellä K-L:Ssä on kiva market täynnä kamera ja valokuvaustuotteita oletko käynyt tutustumassa?
Olen viettänyt pitkiä aikoja KL:ssa ja kaupunki on aika tuttu. Tarkennatko hieman mitä markettia tarkoitat?

I never understood how lightweight can be sturdy at the same time.
It's one of those mysteries😀

Last Sirui I tried was light , but not sturdy.
