The grooves in the aluminum tubes for the rails and bimini top are not for stability, they're there solely for aesthetics.
As someone else mentioned, aluminum doesn't rust, so no, the rails are not dipped into any anodizing solution. The welds are not going to rust, they're made with aluminum welding rods.
Just picked up my 2021 DLX about 10 days ago, ordered beginning of March. Was at Lake Okoboji all day first weekend and when booting the bimini top I noticed the starboard side rear support bar was bent a little at the part where bar attaches that goes to the side railing. Got it bent back somewhat straight and was able to boot the whole thing. It got bent again somehow the very next we took the boat out, but not the time after that. Not sure what's causing it, but I'm keeping my eye on it close. Nobody touches it, it doesn't get stressed at all, even at full speed with the top up. If I ever figure this out, I'll share. Other than that, it's been a fantastic boat so far. The 150 has nice power and the wife and I with our cooler can fly at 35. I like to cruiser at 28-ish, but it can move. Pulls skis and tubes enough to catch them some air. Splurge on the ski tower/frame, it's worth it. Storage is so awesome everywhere we have all our stuff packed that we had on our previous '19 Bass Buggy 18 and there's nothing left lying around! Nice not to see any clutter. Captain's chair and couches are super comfy. Very nice boat for the money.
Good to know about the Bimini top. That’s always a concern for me when deciding from one brand from another. It’s an important part of a pontoon boat and the last thing I want is to by a brand that goes cheap on that part!
I have a 2020 Party Barge 24 XP3. Bought it last July of 2020 and had it out a lot last season. So far zero issues except there was a recall inspection by White River. It’s at the dealer now having the pontoon underpinning inspected. Other than that it’s been a great boat for the money, super comfortable, very smooth even in rough waters, the Merc 150 actually moves the vessel pretty quick. Quick enough for our family. You wouldn’t guess it was a "budget" toon based on the number of compliments we get about how beautiful of a boat it is. We will see what happens in season 2 with this boat.
I have had my Sportfish xp3 for a year now. Love it. No problems. They delivered it and we took a ride showing me do's and don't. Didn't buy a trailer. The boat has more storage than a lot of boats I have seen.
From what I have seen and learned from your channel and other videos, Am I correct in the assumption that there really aren’t any “bad” pontoon or tritoon boats but instead only better pontoons. What I mean by that is that one boat isn’t necessarily good or bad. One is just better than another boat. I haven’t seen any video that states we should probably stay away from a particular brand of pontoon/tritoon boat.
The welds are tig welded and it’s aluminum. It may corrode if it’s not treated but it won’t “rust.”
Just ordered the 2023 22’ XP3 Fishing Barge with Merc 200, 36v Minnkota terrova riptide trolling motor . ETA is August. Boating and Fishing will be in Saltwater. I live on Perdido Bay in Lillian AL. I will put this one to the test, and will give updates. Love your channel.

Just finished the paperwork finalizing the deal on a 2023 year model, which happens to have the 40th Anniversary badging. We were able to turn the value “savings” into a complete electronics package. We though we had plenty of time to buy, but the incentives were really good at the time. We feel we got a great deal and we definitely feel that we are building a great relationship with the dealership. I “interviewed” at least five dealerships and went with the one that is not as near to the lakes where we will boat, but definitely feels to be the best fit for our needs. So far they are the right dealership and the came with high recommendations from an acquaintance. They are the nearest dealership to our home and that was the exact boat that we were looking for with the 200 HP motor.
We a ordered 2023 fishing model last week. They told 2/5 months to get it. We’re hoping to get around October to take it out before winter!! Good info!!
I just bought a 2021 Party Barge 22 XP3 with the 150 Mercury. Just received it last month. I'm happy with it so far and the price. I really love the storage including the headrest storage. I haven't seen another manufacturer with that type of storage.

Suntracker has stopped taking orders for 2021 models
We ordered ours in Jan. Have had it three weeks! I just love it! We have half fishing, half party barge. I can’t remember all the details! So much bigger in person. I’m looking on how to do the Bimity top, I have problems with that!

[edit] Still no boat... End of October is the new delivery date. Had high hopes of getting it on the water this year. Just not be be 😭

Ordered mine in March 2021. It's the 2022 model. It is now September and it just came in. They now come with a stainless prop (150hp) and an electric automatic bimini top.
I find the exposed wood on the under side to be scary.
@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon The under pinning (skin) kit from Sun Tracker is about 600 bucks. Dealer installs it in about 1 day. Definitely a must have option to check off in my opinion. Reduces drag and noise.
I really like this model and the Harris 210 Cruiser, not a huge fisherman but love openness of the fishing models.
