We started stocking up in 2020. We had roughly 9 months for 8 people stocked up. But like you are saying prices are crazy, so we have been going through some of the older stock to supplement the grocery bills. Then when there are some great buys at walmart, HEB or Kroger, we stock up again here and there.

@@americafirst9144 I have gotten quotes from other companies and only a few dollars less. I have no accidents or points. The only thing is I'm afraid that if I change to save a few dollars, I will have an accident and lose the accident forgiveness benefit.
We are definitely in a "Silent Depression" and its only going to get worse before it can get better I'm afraid. My advice is a solid NO on HOA's. Ive been looking to move more rural for the past several years, and I'm now thinking Ive missed my chance because everything and anything rural has went up even more than in town. I keep praying, and honestly that is my best advice to all, is to strengthen your relationship with God, because folks, we all need him now just to keep on keepin on.
Not much more. We are having to cut back. I thought initially, that prices on clothes had not gone up the way food had. I've been getting started on school clothes for my daughter. I have to buy clearance now to get pre- pandemic prices.
I have started buying school clothes for my grandson. I found last season things on clearance. We are out of state staying with grand baby and dil. I went to Ross , Burlington, TJ Max and found him shirts for 4.99. Found shoes on sale. School starts super early in Texas.
Since Joann Fabric filed for bankruptcy, their Gildan tee shirts have been on sale for $2.50. Both adult and youth sizes. They are very nice heavy shirts in many pretty colors. I live in them. They are starting to get picked over now though. You could decorate or tie dye the white ones.
I work all summer long in my garden. I can, freeze, dehydrate as much as I can. People ask me where are you going on vacation, we’re not. The price of everything has gone up and everything keep breaking. The quality of food, parts and everything else keeps getting worse
Great video! Thank you for voicing the frustration that most of us are feeling. When it comes to car insurance I can’t really gauge how bad our rates are. We added our then-16 year old son in 2022 and our rates tripled and have gone up steadily ever since. It’s becoming a real problem for our budget.
Family, friends, community comes first.Food, water, medical, security, keep preparing all as best you can. Chaos looming, prepare accordingly. Thank you Danno. Enjoy your videos.
Agree that July 4 sales will be the last of the current “sales”. My car insurance went up 40% over two years. Never had a claim, drive an older high mileage Toyota Corolla.
We bought our house in 2012, and one of our absolute NO's was an HOA neighborhood. You have fees, they tell you if you can or can not paint your home and have to get the color approved as well as fences, fence colors etc. They are absolutely ridiculous. Good foe you, stick to it something will come along.
The only way prices are going to drop is if the government stops spending more than it takes in. This is what happens when a countries debt is larger than its GDP..
Wrong. Corporate America is beholden to their stockholders. Be a stockholder. Average Americans are paying more to keep the stockholders happy. Learn the game.
@@rn87mom94 Not wrong, inflation is created by government spending and money printing. Corporations follow, don't listen to Democrats and unions so much
Well, we are moving out of CA and to Nevada. Already switched car insurance and registration. Can't begin to tell you how much cheaper it is! I keep looking at my policy to make sure I set everything up correctly!
Here ya Danno! Just two of us retired folks here, our car insurance doubled! So we sold our car to the local dealer and got 4000 over what was owed. Thank God! Couldn’t find anyone who wanted it otherwise. So now we have just the truck, but will make it work. The bad storms here in Arkansas do not help the rising insurance. Then you have to have full coverage even if no loan these days. Hoping for better years to come.
Insurance agent here, been in the busyness for 30 years and it’s the worst I’ve seen. However, the insurance commissioner in your state is responsible for how much rate increase can be taken each year by the insurance companies. At this time, they are allowing double digit increases nationwide and it will be that way for the foreseeable future. Yes cars are more expensive to fix now as well. All this to say, be kind to your insurance agent, they are struggling too, they are having to pay high rates like you and they are getting yelled at daily for something completely out of their control.

I was talking with my neighbors about their recent trip to San Francisco and their ecperience with the driverless electric cars. That btought up my question as to how far can a car go on one charge. They didn't know, but said that charging stations were everywhere and most were full of people charging their cars most of the time they were out (they only used the driverless one once just for the experience). That brought up a conversation about the impact on the power grid and the possibility of rationing electticity. Then, of course, I immefiately thought of the "15 minute cities", which I haven't heard much of lately, but have a feeling we will after the selection, depending on how it turns out. The more electricity we are forced to use, the more they will charge us.
A friend of mine just got a new motorhome and insured it with progressive… A week later she had a flat tire on the highway and, going through her insurance, no tow truck was coming. She later found out that progressive would only pay $300 for the tow which was worth $700 so tow truck drivers ignored the call. This is a warning not to go with the cheapest car insurance.
I live in Indianapolis. I have noticed a lot of houses for sale recently. My brother was trying to find a house for his fam of 6 maybe 3 months ago and couldn't find anything. Now I'm seeing houses for sale all over. Hopefully that will help prices go down.
My grocery bill, plus a tank of gas a month, used to be about $300.00. But as you say everything has doubled. Plus rising utility bills, property taxes and insurance. Rediculous interest rates in every category from cars and homes to credit cards. I've never seen so many men grocery shopping with their wife or family members. Lots of discussions before items are making it into the cart, if at all. In the past automotive repairs happened with cash or credit cards. Recently, our local repair shops are carrying customers on store plans so they can pay for repairs over months. Great if you have a desperate need. But I can't begin to guess at what interest rate. Love your show.
I spent $200-225 per week on groceries before the pandemic. I spend $175-225 now. Nothing has doubled. I know I am not getting the same amount as before, but it hasn't doubled. I do buy beef by the half & have been doing that for over 20 years.
Time is the one thing you can never get back. Landlords will bleed you dry, keep raising the rent and in the end, you will have nothing. Housing prices continue to rise and people keep waiting... for what.... meanwhile life keeps getting more expensive and you just keep getting older. Make lifestyle changes, do whatever you have to do to come up with a downpayment. Buy a HUD Home or some kind of fixer-upper. At least your money will go into equity. We all want the pretty stuff, nice new home, nice yard, etc. Go for a safe neighborhood, buy an older home, retired folks sell homes to downsize, find one and modernize it. People in apartments are in zero position to protect themselves. Condos are nothing more than buying an apartment with a mortgage. Dumbest idea ever IMHO.... Look honestly at your situation people. When it all goes south, what shape will you be in. Shelter is your number one priority, water then food. Sadly, I see a lot of homeless, hungry people in our not so distant future. Start making hard choices.... do you really need a $1K+ phone? Does my family really need multiple cars and the cost of keeping them fueled, insured, etc. or it it just a convenience? Do I need to pay to listen to music all month long? Can I really justify a gym membership for each family member when there are ways to exercise that are free? We feel used to these things but they are EXTRA. Add them up and see what you pay in a year for all them, If we don't change, change will hit us hard when it happens.
You will own nothing and like it. How does that happen?, Insurance. Home insurance has gone OUT OF CONTROL, over 110% in the last few years for me. Car insurance also but not to the same extent but much higher. The last couple months i have received 2 letters telling me that Credit Card Interest rates are going to rise, one of which to 37.99%, the other to 32.99%. That is Loan Sharking!! Depression 2.0 if we aren't already in it we can definitely see it from here.
Our homeowners doubled last year (and the coverage was not the same, much less covered by the insurance co.), my car insurance doubled 2 years ago (12 yr. old Hyundai that can get stolen by USB cable). Our property taxes are being reassessed this year, I'll find out in a month how much more we pay for that. We have no mortgage, thank God, but now it's like a mortgage payment for just taxes and insurance. All this on a fixed income.
Funny that you mentioned butter. I normally have a ton in the freezer as I only buy when it's on sale. Yesterday I said darn, it better go in sale soon, I'm almost out.
I’ve noticed people only use the small carts. One of my local grocery stores has almost all the large carts strapped together on the sidewalk. Most people don’t buy more than 4-6 bags anyway. Those small thin plastic bags that don’t hold much. So, the big grocery carts aren’t used anymore. I’m thankful for the store employees, it must be hard to keep up with the increases.
Car insurance is high because of so many accidents, pricey vehicles with every luxury item imaginable in it. Spectrum needs a cap put in their raising prices all the time.
Clothing prices (particularly undergarments) are the usual things. Schools are done for this school year, so parents begin to go through kids stuff and prepare for the next school year. That's when stores drop their prices and sell larger packages.
I bought my house in 2011 at the bottom of the market and paid 115K. It's worth about 450K now. I can't sell because it would cost me more to buy a similar house with the same amount of land. 2300sqft. on 2.66 acres. I would need to downsize if I moved. The housing market is out of control.
I am in a predicament with forced depletion to move having found a house to downsize to. I lucked out and found an estate sale property before it hit the open market. I was stocking up on some stuff but now I am trying to reduce my freezer stash. What do my fellow long-time viewers think I should do to save money if the July hunch spoken of comes to fruition? My current house is going to hit the market in August once we get moved out and re-paint/clean.
Good meeting you his morning. Was interesting watching how you do the videos! For car insurance: mine went up about 30% last year. I called, got them to do a review on my account and got about 20% taken off. Just had to pay it again and it’s even less! Definitely not complaining but it’s all over the place. Give them a call though and ask if they’ve reviewed your account recently, may find some reductions.
Healthcare , Another area which is getting stupid expensive. Out of pocket and co-payments just keep going up. Hospitals in this area (Northwest Indiana) want co-payments out front before any procedures (X-rays, CT scans, ect).
Check Shelter Insurance, hubby’s insurance actually went down this year. Also, if you’re not using your car to drive more than 50.00 a month, you might be able to classify your vehicle as PLEASURE, and not for work.
What you don't understand is, credit is to blame. When people spend using credit, why wouldn't they ask whatever the hell they please?. So long as they know the bulk of the population is using plastic, it's WHY prices are so high on everything. When CASH was the main source of spending, prices were forced to be at the level of what people could ACTUALLY AFFORD.
When our whole debt based economic system was created, it was created when the standard form of credit was walking into a bank and consigning for a loan. So the creation of money was slow because most people only took out debt for things like a home or business. The rise of CCs has been a disaster because now people just take out huge loans for frivolous things, more money is minted into existence at an alarming rate.
We like keeping an eye on sales … yesterday we saw 80/20 hamburger on sale for $0.99 per pound … by the time we got to the store, they were sold out. Good thing we have our home canned hamburger 😊. Our auto insurance went up 10%. and we’re safe drivers. Keep up the great work, Danny. We’re just north of Anchorage Alaska
If there is a Home Owners Association involved, READ ALL OF THE RULES. We had a townhouse and my HOA WAS WONDERFUL. We could not have managed without it as they were all reasonable people and just made sure all of our property was maintained and no one tore the complex down and harmed the buildings. Now they often seem to be silly and run by petty tyrants, but good HOAs really protect those who have condos or townhomes. They are essential.
I lived no HOA neighbors had junk in yards, fixing cars on weekends welding on hot dry summer day heck a fire ready to start. HOA some are strick or not too much but it protects the home owners. When a neighbor decides to paint glow in dark paint their house next to you enjoy. I lived many houses those crazy neighbors no way. Weeds no lawn mowing I am HOA person. Just too many lazy neighbors let the HOA take care of it
I’ve never had any problems I have a HOA. I’ve never heard of any rules being applied to anyone 11 years & love it. Always planting beautiful flowers & every things so nice. 1 increase of $10 bucks in the past year. Michigan
Property taxes in SE PA only go up with the yearly expected rate increase. The increase in value doesn't affect it except if they do a full reassessment. Last one here was in 1994. Even when that happens, your taxes can't increase more than 10% in 1 year so they have to decrease the rate.
The reasons people want to sell and move can vary. Maybe moving closer to family to help with daycare. Small town prices are cheaper but then there is a trade off. Less to do. Fewer places to shop.
My Geico car insurance keeps going up. I called and asked why since I have a good driving record. They said everyone’s car insurance goes up now. Since I am over 50 the agent said if I take the online safe driving course then I can get my insurance rate reduced.
FWIW, I had an Auto Accident Claim with Progressive a few years ago. They were not very Polite and were kind of demanding when they wanted information, etc. They would not send an appraiser to view and Total the car and got kind of pissy about sending my check. They delayed payment until exactly 30 days after the wreck, which is my States Time Limit! Unprofessional, Petty and Arrogant. As soon as the check cleared I cancelled my policy. Cheap isn't always Best!
Thank you for this and for your updates on supermarket sales. We’re stocking up when we can; prices will definitely increase after the holiday. Brace yourself, Gracie!
All I can say is everything has gone up in price. Property taxes, home owners insurance, car Insurance, health insurance, Rx's, gas for the vehicle, utilities, the water bill, NETFLIX, TH-cam premium, and food. We got rid of Netflix and ytp. We shop only on sale items. I can, freeze dry and put stuff in the freezer. We grow as much as we can, which helps a lot and we have chickens for eggs... and we feed the chickens with the veggies from the garden and cooked lentils. We don't go out to eat nor do we order delivery. I gave up getting my nails done. We have several hundred pounds of rice. Started making bread at home and pizza dough. Everything is prepared at home. We bought filters for the water and we don't buy bottled water or any soda. Can ypu believe the price of soda? They can keep it. We have been in depression 2 for a while now. If it gets worse, we are going to have a lot of people that will go hungry or without their meds. How pathetic is this.
I saw a video on TH-cam about a lady that learned OnStar had been spying on her, collecting data about how she was driving, and sharing the data with data brokers that work with insurance companies. Apparently there’s a class action lawsuit now. Pull your Lexi’s Nexus consumer disclosure report and see if that’s what’s causing your insurance rate hikes. Video was on WSB-TV channel.
I'd never live in an hoa either, but i gotta tell you, i used to live in an area where people were literally allowed to do whatever they wanted. They had flipped over rusted out cars in their front yard, they had several burn barrels creating smog clouds that go right into your windows, and then there the drunk idiot plinking beer cans in his back yard. And it was all normal in that area. Do you want to live in that either?
We are buying more expensive cars because the base price of the cars are wayyyyy more expensive. Its not that we are buying "fancy or high end vehicles" I bought a 2024 Kia a few months ago. It was more than $15,000 than the same type that I bought in 2016. Yet the options were nearly the same.

I just wonder how much more people can take of this inflation. 😢

Yes. I love my garden and the wonderful produce from it. Whenever I've taken a vacation I've always wished that I was in my garden.😊
Katiejo. You have your priorities straight!

I haven't vacationed since 2000, so what?
Great video! Thank you for voicing the frustration that most of us are feeling. When it comes to car insurance I can’t really gauge how bad our rates are. We added our then-16 year old son in 2022 and our rates tripled and have gone up steadily ever since. It’s becoming a real problem for our budget.
Family, friends, community comes first.Food, water, medical, security, keep preparing all as best you can. Chaos looming, prepare accordingly. Thank you Danno. Enjoy your videos.
I love your rants. Someone who thinks like me. Great job

Well, we are moving out of CA and to Nevada. Already switched car insurance and registration. Can't begin to tell you how much cheaper it is! I keep looking at my policy to make sure I set everything up correctly!
Thank you Danno for sharing today. Blessings to you all ❤

My home owner insurance went up $250.00 for the year! Car insurance going up constantly. State Farm
It'll go back down again. I've got SF too and mine had gone up then, this year, back down.
So many uninsured 'visitors' over our borders. Who is gonna pay for the havoc they create. Hence, higher insurance costs.
@@daveb-d4t That is the problem for sure. Q or Fox News?
State Farm is the best insurance out there. That is NOT that much of an increase.
Climate manipulation makes certain richie riches more rich.

I hope we have the same deals!
That will stop when Frys takes over soon.
4:39 more expensive cars means, people are most likely FINANCING, which means….. full coverage is required. Idk, just a guess
Went to buy crumb cakes at krogers. Just two. They wanted four dollars. United dairy farmers had them three dollars, this morning before work.
AAA is the same way! Waste of money.
I live in Indianapolis. I have noticed a lot of houses for sale recently. My brother was trying to find a house for his fam of 6 maybe 3 months ago and couldn't find anything. Now I'm seeing houses for sale all over. Hopefully that will help prices go down.
car insurance doesnt just pay for uninsured, it goes toward the aggregate for the disasters in all states the insurance company operates in.
That makes sense if they offer several different categories of insurance. I hadn’t thought of that. I don’t like it, but it does make sense :/
Amazon Prime Days will probably be July 10-11 this year. It is a great time to save on canned foods, specialty foods, prepping items, clothes, etc.
People shouldn't even push a cart at store, because they don't have many items to pick up.😮
You will own nothing and like it.
You need to tell your insurance company to run a new insurance score. They don’t unless you request it.
Who pays interest on credit cards?
Our homeowners doubled last year (and the coverage was not the same, much less covered by the insurance co.), my car insurance doubled 2 years ago (12 yr. old Hyundai that can get stolen by USB cable). Our property taxes are being reassessed this year, I'll find out in a month how much more we pay for that. We have no mortgage, thank God, but now it's like a mortgage payment for just taxes and insurance. All this on a fixed income.
I thought it was just me, I just moved and now my policy is going up 40 dollars. So sick of this greed because that’s what it is period!!

The Greater Depression. What’s the difference of not having a few pennies to buy food than having a wallet full of money and it’s not enough.
I always use the large carts; I use my own bags that are filled full.

Silent depression!!!
Avoid HOA -- fees are crazy and keep going up

I bought my house in 2011 at the bottom of the market and paid 115K. It's worth about 450K now. I can't sell because it would cost me more to buy a similar house with the same amount of land. 2300sqft. on 2.66 acres. I would need to downsize if I moved. The housing market is out of control.
Don't get that HOA
I totally agree. They just keep raising it, every year😬
I know a lot of people who are driving without insurance and praying. To and from work or the grocery store and that’s it.
Many thanks for your report,

Healthcare , Another area which is getting stupid expensive. Out of pocket and co-payments just keep going up. Hospitals in this area (Northwest Indiana) want co-payments out front before any procedures (X-rays, CT scans, ect).
Check Shelter Insurance, hubby’s insurance actually went down this year. Also, if you’re not using your car to drive more than 50.00 a month, you might be able to classify your vehicle as PLEASURE, and not for work.
I had upgraded my car last year because it would not pass inspection in Pa. Went from a 2005 to a 2017 fully insured It went up $500.00 for 6 months.

We've been in a depression for a good while by true stats but when this thing ends it will off the charts!!!
Who spends on credit? I haven't for 40 years.
An HOA is like the Gestapo. Many many HOA horror stories out there. Even people losing their homes due to the HOA.
We live in a non HOA area they are few and far between but keep looking they go fast
Just too many lazy neighbors let the HOA take care of it
Forced "Associative" = turmoil in ownership paperwork= trouble = devaluation. ..
I’ve never had any problems I have a HOA. I’ve never heard of any rules being applied to anyone 11 years & love it. Always planting beautiful flowers & every things so nice. 1 increase of $10 bucks in the past year. Michigan
You are saying the same thing I have tried to talk to my husband 😮😢 Thanks for sharing 😃👍🏻🇺🇸
I had a similar experience with Progressive. Very rude and impatient when speaking with them on the phone.

I refuse to live on an HOA, which is why I wait.

My moms ac and furnace went out and 5 years ago it was $ 2 ,100 now it's $ 3 , 500 + . Its ludicrous how things are getting harder to obtain !
Gardening has become more expensive. Soil/ Compost always seems too high, fertilizers as well.
My soil came with the yard & is supplemented with chicken litter. Buy one shaker of fertilizer a year. A few bales of straw. Now we have heat & drought so better luck next year, Did have a bumper crop of sour cherries.
Yes day to day is hard . Trying to get out of it
