It is always a good thing to help out. I am 70 years old. I managed to shovel the sidewalk, and steps in front of my house. I just took my time and did a little bit. I didn't want the kids, or the mailman to fall on my steps or porch The plow hasn't made it down my street. I think they have been busy with the main thoroughfares. It is good that you was able to help people. I hope everyone is safe and warm. From your friend in Indianapolis. ❄️⛄❄️⛄❄️⛄❄️
Reporting here from Los Angeles county about our nightmare fires 😢 The Ralphs store has been destoyed by the Pacific Palisades fire along with many other businesses + all the homes. The Santa Ana winds are so strong that the air fire planes & helicopters cannot fly. Not enough fire trucks to fight from the ground and our homes are so close together that blocks of homes are just burning up...We have many different fires all over southern california right now. The sun rise is bright red rising in the east. I live 10min at the beach south of LAX with a sweeping view over the ocean and to the north the sky is thick dark gray and looking far to the south a medium grey. You can smell the fire air & ash all over my yard. I just saw thousands of birds flying closely together overhead that were so confused trying to find cleaner air that they were swirling like a whirpool. 😮 Prayers to all the victims of losing their homes for strength moving forward ❤
I've been watching the fires on the news...utter devastation! So many homes and businesses lost, people hurt and killed. Makes me cry. California needs to rethink its building codes and its water/wildland management. Taxes going up for sure as well as insurance, if you can even get it. So many people could not get out...what will they find when they can get into those areas? Praying for y'all.
You are an amazing and kindhearted man! Please pace yourself when shoveling snow ( and warn your helpers too) . The extreme cold combined with the physical exertion can sometimes trigger heart attacks. I’m not saying don’t do it but just be careful, take rest breaks, stay hydrated, and take breaks to warm up. You can just assure the person you are helping that you will come back. God Bless you! ETA- I don’t drink coffee but my favorite hot beverages are Earl Grey tea with some generic Splenda and a splash of milk, or sugar free hot chocolate.
Wish it was just snow here to dig out of. I could handle that. We are covered in ice. No power since Sunday. But we are safe thanks to being prepared for anything. Stay safe.
We are completely smoked out here in Santa Monica, CA. The smoke from the Palisades Fire is blanketing the city and is currently burning 3ish miles away from me. I think dealing with snow is a lot easier than a fire.
East Coast under freezing/snow etc...west coast CA on fire....I live in S. Idaho...no snow at all this year to date...just a lot of rain...feels like we are in Seattle instead of Boise...(NOT COMPLAINING)...Praying for every ones safety and that these disasters cease....stay safe...hugs/prayers to all
if you get stuck in snow or ice, use your car mats or keep carpet squares in your car, you place them under your front wheels, and it gives you some traction. Nice to hear you are helping others out, much appreciated! Those fires in CA are awful prayers they get that all under control soon.
My last year teaching, we got an extra week of Christmas break due to two storms a week apart gifting us three feet of snow in Reno, Nevada. The best single storm I can remember was on February 14, 1990...I was 6-months pregnant; hubby had left the day before to go to the Florida Keys for 2.5 weeks to re-certify for scuba, and we got 24" of snow overnight. It took 5 scoops of the shovel to get to the sidewalk. Oldest was 10 and we took turns going out to shovel...10 minutes on, 10 minutes resting while the other shoveled! Then we lost power and were rescued by friends who had a wood-burning stove to cook on and heat with. Fun times!!!
I lived in Cincinnati (Deer Park) for a few years and don’t recall ever having a snow like that! I’m from PA and we would chuckle at people who panicked at an inch or so of snow. I can’t imagine how everyone dealt with a big snowstorm.
Born and raised in Cincinnati and I remember plenty of big snow storms here. When I was in the 3rd grade (Fairview Elementary) 64yrs ago, snow was up to my waist in front of our house in Clifton. Sometimes could not find my pickup truck only by the grill..We had almost 11 inches here..
@@Mustang5458 shortly after we moved to Cincinnati (fall of 1966) we decided to drive back to Pennsylvania for Christmas. The day before we left, we were washing the car in shorts and flip-flops, we got to PA and were snowbound at my grandmother’s. Crazy!
@@Snoopsmom In 1977 when in labor with my 2nd daughter the nurses kept telling me you have the coolest room in the hospital. It was 80 degrees outside..The day we took her home 5 days later we fought a snowstorm from Clifton to Fairfield Oh. Still the same way.
Good morning Danno, Jess and everyone! I’m glad you’re safe and staying home. Being from MN that kind of weather is something I’m use to but I still dislike it lol. Fav coffee is definitely death wish. Happy early bday Danno! Have a great day and stay safe out there. Thought and prayers to the victims of the fire in California. ❤
Bless you Danno, for doing what you can, every one has to work together to complete the tasks, we are in for a doozy our self on Friday ice and snow Its going to be bad so thank goodness it was a Friday for us and it will melt but it will refreeze again and be dangerous . Randy found an awesome Chinese restaurant so we got a lot for a few days .I'm going to try the frozen vegetable lasagna from Stouffer's.next month and see if I like it or making it myself is better . Be careful you don't fall outside now and hurt yourself see ya.
Good morning Danno & Jess ❄️ You’re a great neighbor Danno !! Sounds like you live in a great neighborhood where people help each other. We’re not loyal to any certain coffee brand but we do have our favorites . We’re drinking Kirklands’s medium roast ground coffee. It comes in a foil bag and it’s made with Arabica coffee beans . It’s specialty grade batch roasted . It’s good . On a sad note praying for the people of California! The whole of Pacfic Palisades is up in flames . People abandoned their vehicles to get to safety. The pictures are unbelievable of how much of the area is engulfed in flames. I hope the next storm at the end of the week amounts to only a small amount of snow for you guys. ❤
The people in California are having to escape on foot, because of traffic jams. They can't get through in their car. Terrible fires. I keep praying. They have so many fires.
You guys got hammered. Its been snowing here in PA since I got up early this morning. Roads weren't the greatest coming into work, ugh. I think I'm done with winter for now😃

Hey Danno & Jess! That was really nice of you to dig your neighbors out of their parking spots. You are a good man. I am not sure yet what my favorite coffee is, lol. I haven't tried to many different ones to know. I know that I just need coffee! 🤣 so Happy Birthday early to you. Mine is January 23rd. Not looking forward to turning 56 but glad to be alive and kicking. Age is just a number anyway. Always keep yourself young. My grandmother made it until 102 and you couldn't keep that woman still. She was always on the go! Lol. I sure miss her. Ok, about the Stouffers Lasagna, I had one, regular party size Lasagna that I baked, maybe 2 weeks ago now. They have changed something sadly. The taste was not the same to me or my friend. We actually did a video on it. I hope it was just ours and yours will be good. To me it tasted like the canned chef Boyardee sauce. Their Lasagna used to be amazing, like homemade. Sadly, I can't say that anymore. I don't know if they are doing something different to save on costs or what. I hope that yours will be better than ours. Let me know if you think they have changed something too, after ya'll eat. Just curious what others feel about it too.
It's awesome when neighbors help each other and work together! Our society needs more of that! We're about to have an ice event in upstate SC. I hope it's more snow, but it's not looking good. My household is getting ready for power outages.
Thank God for front-wheel drive cars! I remember 40 years ago when most cars were rear wheel drive you couldn't even get out of your driveway in 4 inches of snow...lol. I had a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with five bags of rock salt in the trunk and would still slide all over the road😂
Welcome to New Jersey and New York east coast weather that's a normal storm for us, we always get packed in by the plows. At least you're in a parking lot complex we are on the street/road with traffic driving. Thanks for helping out.
You and Jessica stay warm and safe! Absolutely the liquid IV is so much better than anything I've ever tried out there. It's a little pricey but it's something that you're not taking on a daily but it's something that you take when you need and it certainly makes a huge difference when you do. Danno you and Jessica are the kind of neighbors everyone could only hope to have! From our Family to yours... y'all stay safe and we love you here in Texas!!
We have snow & ice & freezing rain headed for Mississippi Thursday night & friday!! Expecting multiple inches!! This isn't normal for Mississippi and we don't have the equipment to clear the roads here in Mississippi! So Mississippi will probably be closed until it thaws out!! 😊😊

We knew y ou were a good man! I have been in real blizzards, which are not fun. We got nowhere near the snow you got, but my grandson had trouble getting out of our driveway trying to get to work on the 7th. We are one house off a state highway, so the main roads were cleared. Hoe-the-Husband and I have not left, maybe Feriday to Kroger for sales and Rxs, but I have nothing waiting that I am in need of, (I have tried to stock up). He and Grandson cleared a lot of the driveway, but it is too cold and we have ice. Thank Heaven, the septic clog seems to have broken loose because none of the fellows here could get out from in the country where they lived. It's snowing a bit here now on Wednesday morning. The cold now is what we fear.
Hey, Danno, If your heat baseboards are the kind with hot water, you can put folded towels over the baseboards in your bedrooms only and enjoy the cooler temps. This only works provided your thermostat is not in your bedroom and that controls your whole apartment, which would be strange way but nowadays you never know.
Goodmorning Danno and Jess folgers black silk is my husband and my favorite coffee! We did get the five cans when the had the coupon for 5.99! Could not pass that up! Clearing snow is a hard job by hand! Nice to help people out!❤
Not a coffee drinker. I love the smell of coffee brewing. My fav tea is Twinings Lady Earl Grey OR Nestle hot chocolate drink....delicious on a cold day!
I used to live in New Jersey and I lived in a Beach town. The houses were very close to the street not too many places to put the snow. The plows kept running east to west pushing all the snow on my side of the road . So I called the municipal yard who cleared the roads . I said the fella keeps going from east to west dumping all the snow on my side of the road and I don't have much area to put the snow. The guy says to me ,Lady, we're just trying to get the streets clear. Well he must have radioed into the plowing trucks and they started running west to east,😀😀😀😀
First sweat lodge I went to I split wood with a maul for 8 hours only taking breaks for water. Physical labor feels good. Snow is a kinda different however it is still intensive. Nice.
Happy Birthday, Danno. I'm with you about celebrating birthdays. Today is my birthday, I want to just go away with my husband. He wants to got out to dinner with his family, I don't. I'm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so I'm used to snow. If the snow isn't wet and heavy, I'll shovel the driveway just for the exercise.
Here west side of Indy I periodically went out with my straw broom and sweep the dry powdery snow off into the yard. this older lady sure appreciated that it wasn't wet heavy snow Sunday and Monday. More thankful we avoided the ice-storms
Good morning from Nevada. We only have snow up in the mts at Lake Tahoe. My coffee is from Java House. Cold brew, decaf, sweetener and half n half, alittle cinnamon on top.😊
I like most coffees, but the one that I think is really good is Hills Bros original mild. It is hard to find, so I buy a few when I do find it. Danno & Jess, stay warm and well❤❤
It's 44 here and cloudy. Cold enough for me. I had Stouffer's lasagna for Christmas. It was very good. Stay safe and warm. Hi Jess hope you're not working to hard. God bless. 👍👍😃😃❤️❤️🙏🙏
I went to two of my local Kroger branded stores yesterday, and they were out of SO many things. Tuesdays are usually a shelf stocking day for them, to get ready for the Wednesday ads and sales. We did not get any snow out of that system, but I bet that shipments were held up by that bad weather and they didn't have enough product to stock.
we also cant sleep when its hot but thankfully we are able to turn the bedroom heat off and have the ceiling fan on and keep the door closed at night and we both sleep great
We are going to have snow on top of our ice Friday. People here in Southern Illinois still without powe. Glad you guys are safe and have helpful neighbors.
I live in eastern centrsl Virginia..Now we dont get the snow as some states do. Iam also retired truck driver, and have to go out when we get snow, not alot but still...I FLATLEY REFUSE To clean off my windows/ roof..I get in start, defrost on..AND...PULL OFF THE TARPS, YEP TRAPS..STILL the same for snow even heavy frost...For awhile..Now i just set back and watch the snow pile up..😂 Keep Safe, & Warm.. 🧣❄🧤🥶🔥 .
I bought windshield tarps for our vehicles but they rarely get used. I get blinded by ice, fogging windows and the early sunrise. I started using de icer but it's a greasy film until it dries. Have to toughen up every winter but we don't stay indoors everyday all day..we have to go outside for different lengths of time.
I had to start over . Our cabinets are not full . Our frig either. I will go to a store but i dont want to over buy. Tonight frozen tenders and yams with brown sugar and marshmellows. Anything easy sounds good..😊 last night kraft boxxed mac & cheese and added cooked ground drained hamburger mixxed together.
Danno, SALT only works on ice. Lavazza Medium roasts are my favorite but unless I hit sale, buy-5-get-5 AND a coupon, they won't be here! I like mildly flavored coffees, like some hazelnut or vanilla. Starbucks Holiday blend is nice. If Joe-the-Husband hits a clearance and buys a lot of strongly flavored coffees, like strawberry, , I will mix it with plain coffee, (1part flavor + 2-3 parts regular), and it is a nice change.
I took canisters of salt Sat into Sun morning and poured the contents all over my decks. Snow hit, it melted. It only worked until the snow started coming down fast and furious. The good thing? The first 3 inches that fell didn't have to be swept off my decks. The salt melted it.
My son works outside 3rd shift at DHL at CVG Monday he was mandated 13 hours and then he worked a regular shift last night just got off work at 8:00 a.m.. I think they should pay more for that kind of work
I feel for mine too. One works in a metal building no heat or AC because the machines can't be in controlled environments. . One is a firefighter cold, and heat extreme temperatures. The water mine takes to work to the factory in the summer makes up for body salt loss. Long John thermals are a must in the cold. " My son has worn pajamas under his pants when he gets up quick to go outside. They work too for guys. The extreme hours your son pulled he has to have a heater in the building he works out of if he is exposed to the elements. Or he gets over" time pay" good $$'s for the day .
Well, if this snowfall is unusual for you, then God bless. It is not that bad... Enjoy the day! You have food, shelter, warmth, a shovel, and an opportunity to get outside for fresh air. You did not loose power, or the roof did not cave in, pipes did not freeze, and I am betting the car starts just fine. Yeah, snowblowers work for plowed in car or go slow.. Peace
I don't miss apartment living during & after a snowstorm. If you clear out a spot, someone takes it. Sometimes I'd come home & there would only be a spot or two open, so I had to take one. What else was I supposed to do? The people who cleared those spots didn't like it one bit though. Now I have a house on the parking side of the street. I'll shovel the driveway so I can get out, then the snowplows come through & push all the snow right back to block my driveway again. That's just not fair.
My favorite beverage of choice is water, and I use Liquid IV as well. In this kind of weather I will fix the Maxwell House french vanilla instant. That's as close to coffee as I get
We have a 2000sq ft house and keep our heat on 66 degrees. For the month of December our bill was 125.00, which is pretty good. We have extra warm clothes with at we wear during the day. I get what you’re saying out a hot bedroom, I cannot abide a hot bedroom to sleep in.
I used to live in Tennessee close to Nashville. Any “hint” of snow, the shelves get cleared. They don’t have snow plows and people don’t know how to drive in snow. Crazy
I am going in for the trash can. I am leaving recycle behind. Why I did not do the is when I cleared the drive🪓💞😂 I have not seen any snow clearing by the city. I am ok, but the care home across the street still has a car in the ditch. It is nose down so care to not break the car. AAA is very good at protecting the car removing it. Those tow drivers are so good with a tuff job. It is almost impossible to get a truck now. I have driven to work at least 30 miles a day since I-was 12. Driving snow is never a Joy to me, and my number one do not miss in retirement. It is -2 at 9 am here. Have a happy
We missed the snow it's really cold here but days r sunny. I hear you about deap snow I'm in Iowa I'm in the country we need tractors to get out and if the snow drifts we clear out r roads take care
Danno and Jessica You are lucky to even getting snow. A nightmare digging out the snow don't tell me you dug out the snow and Jessica was standing next to you and poor Jessica you covered her with the snow she looked like a snowman 😂😂😂😂😂😂

God bless and y’all take care !! 🙏🙏🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
Hey, Danno,
If your heat baseboards are the kind with hot water, you can put folded towels over the baseboards in your bedrooms only and enjoy the cooler temps.
Nice to help people out!❤
I wish you lived near me, I had to do it by myself. I'm 67 and it took me two days. I'm sore today! It's a workout 😅
Happy early Birthday!!🎉
Its 18 degrees with 4 inches of snow and ice! Be careful out there folks
How's your back today after all that shoveling?? Very nice of you to help neighbors. ⛄⛄⛄⛄
Sore lol, but not to bad
Enjoy your videos. Stay warm. ☃️🤗☃️
“Can’t borrow our shovel but we’ll dig you out!” That’s so great! Bet you made her day.
18 in of snow.not over coming back at Friday. For us Rowlesburg wv
We had 12 inches and 2 inches of ice , it’s snowing now but we are supposed to see bad snow again on Friday but hopefully no sleet, we are in KY
You’re a friend in the craft room just telling about your day. nice to see ya.😊
First sweat lodge I went to I split wood with a maul for 8 hours only taking breaks for water. Physical labor feels good. Snow is a kinda different however it is still intensive. Nice.
Happy New Year brother!! Hot water heater went so this year isn't starting out good! Appreciate the vids!! ☕👍
My grandma taught me to use a tabl per cuo, plus one for the pot. no wonder I get so much energy after having coffee, lol.
Lol 🤣
I stay away from Campbell's soups. They have bio engineered ingredients. But thats me. 💯 ❤
Agree
All I can say is what a good guy you are to help the people get their car out. 😊
I’m over 50 and I drink milk, water, tea and an occasional soda. My husband and are not coffee drinkers. Never acquired a taste for it.
we also cant sleep when its hot but thankfully we are able to turn the bedroom heat off and have the ceiling fan on and keep the door closed at night and we both sleep great
We are going to have snow on top of our ice Friday. People here in Southern Illinois still without powe. Glad you guys are safe and have helpful neighbors.
Do you have a tarp to throw over your car now that you have cleaned it all off. Blowing snow can be all over your car again.
I live in eastern centrsl Virginia..Now we dont get the snow as some states do.
Iam also retired truck driver, and have to go out when we get snow, not alot but still...I FLATLEY REFUSE To clean off my windows/ roof..I get in start, defrost on..AND...PULL OFF THE TARPS, YEP TRAPS..STILL the same for snow even heavy frost...For awhile..Now i just set back and watch the snow pile up..😂
Keep Safe, & Warm..
🧣❄🧤🥶🔥
.
@stainedglass8401 I bought regular tarps that you'd cover outside stuff with..❤❤ them.
I'm retired , so now I can go at leisure..Be safe...
My nephew lives about 50 miles away from there and he said it’s just devastating. I’m just glad he’s OK.
@@paulawinstead5660 It won't work on several feet, and what it did melt would turn to ice and make things worse.
Try the Costco frozen lasagna. They have a sausage and beef lasagna that is fabulous. Best frozen lasagna out there.
Good morning Jess and Danno you two have a Blessed day
My son works outside 3rd shift at DHL at CVG Monday he was mandated 13 hours and then he worked a regular shift last night just got off work at 8:00 a.m..
Good Morning ☀️ ❤ Danno and Jess❤❤❤
Good morning
You're very kind Danno
Our favorite coffee is ORGANIC SEATTLE’S BEST COFFEE DARK ROAST.
Peace
Move north 150 miles. You can do that practically every day for months each year.
Glad you got dug out!
Truth.
That's life.
WLWT 5 said that the total for Cincinnati was 8.5".
My favorite coffee is Folger (black silk) version, and happy birthday Danno.
I lived in a neighborhood in St Paul MIN where the entire neighborhood helped each other during heavy snowfalls
The Pacific wild rice n chicken soup is really good.😊
My favorite beverage of choice is water, and I use Liquid IV as well. In this kind of weather I will fix the Maxwell House french vanilla instant. That's as close to coffee as I get
Yes I remember those days. The Maintenace guys used to help me dig out. I hope all is well with you 2..Safe and warm.
I wish other winter states would be able to help in some areas. We have so many plows. Salt etc..
Last winter, we got over 130 miles niches of snow - a record
I really hope they did appreciate the work you did
I LOVE COFFEE! I Like Starbucks breakfast and house blend. I do like Krogers donut shop blend. I’m a sweet tea drinker too 😆
Yes! Starbucks House is my favorite.
You're a good man for helping your neighbors. If you haven't, you need to try Dukes mayonaise. I always ate Kraft until I tried Dukes!
Hope you're staying warm 🥶
We have a 2000sq ft house and keep our heat on 66 degrees. For the month of December our bill was 125.00, which is pretty good. We have extra warm clothes with at we wear during the day. I get what you’re saying out a hot bedroom, I cannot abide a hot bedroom to sleep in.
That's how you shovel manure, too--one layer at a time!
2024 😂 I think you have snowbird brain fog 😅
Thank you for showing us Floridians the snow ❄️🌨️❄️🌨️
We missed the snow it's really cold here but days r sunny. I hear you about deap snow I'm in Iowa I'm in the country we need tractors to get out and if the snow drifts we clear out r roads take care
Danno and Jessica You are lucky to even getting snow.
A nightmare digging out the snow don't tell me you dug out the snow and Jessica was standing next to you and poor Jessica you covered her with the snow she looked like a snowman 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
Living in Indiana I feel your pain but look at it this way, in a few months the excessive heat will return and this will all be but a distant memory.
Just wonder wonder what the store shelves are going to look like.
Shoveling out still today . I am wishing for spring . We have more snow coming tomorrow
My favorite coffee is from one source beans. K cups are not good bc when you brew you are getting the plastic and foil in your system
Thank you Danno ❤️✝️🥶
