Heart is a pumping organ. It pumps blood. Let's get into the anatomy; Lungs has two main vessels one is pulmonary vein and other one is pulmonary artery. Cardiac surgery could be angioplasty. Angioplasty and its treatment plan depends upon the extend to which the damage has occured; can done by putting ballooning where the amount of blockage is in between 10- 20% Bypass surgery where you cut the vessel and adjoin to near vessel, the blockage has to be nearly 30-40%. Cardiac stent- you can put a titanium meshwork like thing into the vessel so this will keep the diameter of vessel constant . The blockage has to be more than or equal to 50%.
At night, when you sleep for 7 hours your body does digestion, assimilation and storage into excretion sacs. So, everything works normally. But, let's when you don't sleep for 3 days continously, you will have indigestion, chest burn, diffcuilt in breathing because your stomach won't compress. It doesn't compress because of excessive CO2 which is formed in the blood. Our body has receptors for CO2 unlike O2, by this i mean to say, your Pons virullei gets suppressed when the CO2 levels in the blood gets increased and you do yawning continously and feel sleepy. This condition is known as Acidosis. So, when there is acidosis, same blood will go into heart and if CO2 molecules won't get clearance within milliseconds or if gets stuck between a small vessel of very smaller diameter then the chances are high that vessel would die. Similarly happens for brain.
Lovely podcast, please also bring on board doctors who support and guide about EECP enhanced external counterpulsation, a non invasive treatment for coronary artery heart disease, why I request, it can save many patients , who don't have heart blockages as such , and it can maybe prevent that situation , but big hospitals and big surgeons do not share this avail treatment options ,mostly because they will not make much money from patients .but it's very very helpful technology which should be explored for human wellbeing .please bring light to it .
