I’m all for it. No prospect this year gives me more confidence than what we already have in Fields. Bar none. Build around the kid and make the roster more complete.

Why would it be crazy, it’s what they should do. People have hyped QBs too much! I don’t think Williams is all that.
If you don't think he's all that you don't know, football. You can clearly see the Mahomes characteristics. In this world, you either got it or you don't. It's very simple. For the guys that have it, you don't have to make any excuses they get it done under any set of circumstances. That's what makes them special. I'm sure Justin can flourish but not with us. We need a player who doesn't need as much to get things done.

Trade out of the #1 pick and take the best WR available. Najera is going to be a star in the NFL as well as the Washington WR Odunze.

The truth is if we get Carolinas first overall pick it’s worth too much to not trade. We can get probably a first and the third from a team like New England who is probably picking third and wants to make sure nobody else jumps in front of them.
If somebody from ten or lower like Las Vegas comes calling….you can probably get 3 firsts 2 seconds and a player. “You don’t want to see C Williams in NE…….pay me brah. “
The dream scenario is Arizona wins some games and drops to 3 or 4. Then you trade 1 overall to NE who is 2 by spreading as much noise as you can that another team is going to jump them and use that threat to milk 2 firsts and a third (which is insane for 1 spot but do you want your guy….pay me) out of them then still get to draft MHJ.
Trade 1. If MHJ goes before you can pick again draft the kid from LSU. He is DJ’s clone. Get a Center and a new OC this team will be loaded 2 years from now. Yoked out boys. Da baby Bearsss gonna get some reinforcements and start smokin fools.

Exactly. Mock drafts are more fantasy football than reality. With five games left a lot can change. Personally I can see a situation where Poles trades away the number one pick and manage to get a second round pick and a future first rounder.

Not sure about Caleb Williams. It’s not just about pure talent. Also about attitude and fortitude.
In a draft with Nabers and Odunze and the ability to gain multiple picks for drafting down, it is absolutely insane.
At #3 or lower, though, you'd get less compensation, so it makes sense.

I honestly don't think the Bears will finish with the 5th pick. It'll likely be the 12th pick. The rest of the schedule isn't bad. They'll probably finish 7-10.
Packers, Browns defense and Lions are going to be very tough. I think we can sneak one past Arizona and maybe Atlanta but finishing 7-10 would be a good improvement and right along what I expected before the season began

I’d be much more confident with drafting MHJ at 1 than Caleb Williams. QBs are always the most hit or miss prospects, and I would consider his poor sportsmanship, emotional outbursts, and worse season red flags. There’s no guarantee he’ll be better than or even as good as Fields. Not to mention we’d have to start at square one next year. As the guy said, MHJ is the perfect player and the real deal. I think that the fact that he came from The Ohio State would also be good because even though Fields never played with him, they’d at least be familiar with each others play styles from how they developed in their time there. Last, MHJ and DJ Moore would be one of the best receiver corps’ in the league, and assuming they get a new coaching staff (hopefully Harbaugh), Fields would hopefully either become what we wanted him to be or we would know he isn’t the guy.
Keep the same energy as last year's draft..find a team to trade-down with that has a impact player the defense needs to rush the passer with Sweat(Crosby)...will do!...get a first round pick for next year..2nd round pick this year..Bears need a first round Left offensive Tackel!!!... There's plenty of stud wideout in this draft..if not Harrison..there's more than enough number 1 wideouts.
The whole “reset the qb clock” thing is so overrated and annoying.. look at pretty much all the good teams in the nfl and they all have established, PAID qbs. Fields won’t be getting top of the market money and the cap keeps going up every year. Plus you can always convert salary to bonus money etc.. pay fields. He’s a worker and is going to keep getting better every year especially if they keep adding more talent around him. He has one of the highest ceilings in the nfl w his physical traits and work ethic.
Bears should take Harrison at #1. Draft more o line. We need depth at o line and this sounds like the draft to do it. We could build out a solid team this off-season if we don’t spend it all on Caleb Williams

@@Ebonysails And we are nowhere for changing him out. We keep trying to swap QB's to fix the problem. Fix the rest of the team first and then bring in a QB, so we don't end up ruining another player. Put an average QB behind a great O line with Receiving talent and he will look good.

Football is a team sport. The team that are good have great oline and dline. Trading the number 1 pick give the bears a chance to stuck up on oline and dline. For five years.

I'm only pointing out that for everyone that is dead set on getting Williams or Maye and not even considering Daniels are a little short sighted. One of those three will be available at #5 without question. I'm saying it is insane to not pick up MHJ and #1. Poles can do what so ever he wants with the other pick: One of the top 5 OTs, Brock Bowers and trade Kmet for picks, still grab a really good QB, trade back for a haul to a QB hungry team.....
The biggest thing about MHJ is his separation from the rest of the pack. We are talking possibly Randy Moss vs your average to good starting WR in the NFL. And I'm sorry but Maye and Williams are not generational and look just like Trubisky and Fields IMO....not worth selling the farm for.

JF there have been 16 QB1 since Rogers played his first game who were drafted traded or signed with the Bears and not one of them played better when he came to Chicago Bears This is why Boomer Esiason said Chicago where QBs go to die.
Let me mention two QBs who
came out of USC Sanchez and Donald who were not worth anything when drafted. Williamson could just as easily be another one.

Caleb holds the ball for 3+ seconds... you are crying because JF holds the ball sometimes for 2.9s... the logic just isn't there. Caleb has never performed against a high-ranked opponent in college. MHJ is the clear choice for the first pick of the Bears, I don't think it would be worth the risk of trading back and missing out on MHJ . The second pick can be traded back you would need to draft a top LT or Bowers.

It's not crazy, it's stupid and short sighted. The Bears need multiple receivers, a running back, a TE, a center, a guard, a tackle, and a QB prospect would be prudent. On defense they need a safety, a corner, a LB, a DE & DT. Can't do that blowing the #1 pick on any one player. There are another 6-7 receivers in the draft that would fill the roster out nicely. Quit listening to the out of town stupid. We're one year into a rebuild where the team was gutted. The Bears lack key starters and depth, still. Poles has been all but brilliant the way he has turned the direction of the team. Time to listen, watch and learn from him. The best point of interest is which team(s) he'll fleece for '2025' picks as he did to Carolina in 2023. THAT shows a completely different level of strategy not seen in the SB era by a GM. I'd never want to play poker with Poles.

It makes no sense to start over at QB. You build the team around Fields then next year if it isn't working out, you trade Fields by the deadline and get more draft picks and you plug and play any qb into a pretty stacked team.

Yes, it is absolutely crazy. If the Bears end up with the #1 pick and don't want to draft a QB, or if Caleb pulls an Eli Manning (my prediction), fine. Work a deal for the #1, pick up additional capital, then get the #3 pick up and draft Harrison. I know he's elite, but MH2 is not going ahead of 2 potential franchise changing QBs.
I watched the Maye reel and don't see him changing a franchise but they'd be insane not to take Williams. They're in a once in a generation or less position. Can't pass it up.
@@Scene_Scout The Bears would be insane IF Williams tells them that he doesn't want to play for them. If Chicago lands #1 and CW is willing to sign with them, absolutely draft him. No question. But Caleb has more leverage coming into the NFL than any CFB player ever. The only one that comes close, that I can think of, is Elway in '83. I believe Caleb will essentially dictate what team he will play for. And if it's not going to be Bears, then they will need to maximize the value of that pick and get as much for it as they can.

Caleb Williams will be a bust. Williams has been average in an average conference. Maye has been worse. Bo Nix has been lights out. Bears #1 - Harrison.. #5 either take your QB possibly Nix or trade back and get OL/DL help.

He does not use all his receivers, IMO.
He has a few favorites he passes to.
If you look at the Tyson Bagent games, every receiver would be used.
With JF, its DJ Moore, Kmet, and one or two others. With Bagent, every receiver would get at least one reception.
That makes JF easier to defend, IMO.
That is a major weakness.
