      They did, back in 1986 to 1992 with the Jeep Comanche. It didn't sell in high numbers then and it would be the same now.

      Unfortunately, anything regular cab or manual transmission would sell worse than 30-40 years ago. A large chunk of the population doesn’t even learn to drive manual now.
      Also, 30-40 years ago trucks were NOT replacement SUVs. They are now. So they need to be able to have seating for 5-6 people, consequently, 3-seater regular cabs are out.
      You combine regular cab with manual transmission and all three of us would buy one but unfortunately, three of us don’t make a viable market. 😃

    I read that no 2025's until the 2024's as referring to the toldeo plant. Since they have some 2024's back ordered still, but are in a holding pattern until they start the lines up again. I don't think it was referring to dealer lots.

    Two things:
    1) Jeep, you’ll need to lower the 2024 Gladiator prices to where they SHOULD be…which is low. Get on that.
    2) I was heavily considering a 2025 Gladiator. I already own a Jeep Wrangler and was not going to trade it in. Paying cash for my new truck. The Gladiator is now completely OUT as an option. No thank you.

    If that news is true, I am always skeptical about single source news, then Stellantis is in the process of shooting themself in the foot again. How will stopping production of the Gladiator and making it scarce help them regain market share that they already lost? Stellantis is making head scratcher after head scratcher decisions.

      I just report the news. I'm too small of a channel with zero weight. But sure would be nice to have stellantis on speed dial and call them "hey Carlos, is it true you guys are holding back on the 25s until the 24s are gone?". But they wont take my calls. I do agree though that single source can be sketchy. But I report what I learn when I know it and if it gets proven wrong I will delete the video. Just made a video where 3 sources said 25 f250 would obly allow 7.3 in king ranch and platinum trims. I made a video about it this morning. Found out they were not correct when f250 configure went live and I deleted the video immediately

    Michigan's vehicle registration fees are based on the weight of the vehicles so some EV's cost more to register than their ice counterparts.
    Most of the miles I put on my Wrangler are on unmaintained trails. It rarely sees pavement.
    Maintenance and repaving of the county roads where I live are payed for by a local tax mileage and zero funds from the state.
    It will be interesting to learn how the state will determine how many miles someone like me drives on state maintained roads. I'm certainly not paying a cent to the state for driving on roads and trails that do not see maintenance $'s from the state.

      Tesla Model 3 long range all wheel drive 4 door 5 passenger EV sedan with large trunk weighs just over 4,000 pounds.
      Ford Mustang GT 2 door rear wheel drive 4 passenger coupe with small trunk and V8 engine weighs just under 4,000 pounds.
      Try again.
      All pickup trucks weigh more than all cars.

    • @is6566
      @is6566 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      If Ford Maverick is considered truck then it’s weight is less than 3,700 pounds. Ford Ranger starts at 4,200 pounds. Some F150 is 4,400 pounds. So, no, not all pickups weigh more than all cars. Definitely not EV cars.

    @Jason-Samko, I have a leased ‘22 4xe paid out through July 25. I don’t think I want to stay with the hybrid platform when it’s out of warranty so I’m considering moving to a gladiator. Think I should move on it in December? I’d lose about $3.2k sunk in my lease to give it up that early. Maybe the deals would be good enough to sacrifice it.

    Pay per mile and a heavy increase on registration for EV. Gas tax for the rest of us. It's the only fair solution. Besides, eliminating a gas tax is a great way for a state to lose a ton of money on freight and people moving through. How is my state supposed to track how many miles I drove out of state and who does that money go to? You might say but oh how is my state going to track where I put miles on my EV? Easy, you're a giant laptop on wheels they can plug in every time you renew your registration as the EV can tell them exactly where it's been (another reason not to own one). All states have different laws so another state might be able to read your mileage (travelled in their state) at the charge point and upcharge you there like an EV "gas tax".
    It's such a stupid plan only government could dream it up.

    • @crimesguy
      @crimesguy ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah I don’t see how they’ll ever demand a typical ICE motorist to add new hardware to their car for tracking that. Newer ICE cars will have it, but most won’t have it at the level government would need to fully implement the system. It would need to be a state or federal mandate on existing equipment and it would be highly unlikely to get votes on it from either party. I think they’ll raise registration on EVs like NJ did to $250, banking on rising adoption meaning people will pay more than a 3x higher premium yearly on just keeping the car road legal.

  • @hellodrjeckyl
    @hellodrjeckyl 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

    That taxation is BS. If they want the missed EV tax revenue which they are only going to waste and line their pockets with, they should only charge EVs the miles driven tax, and keep the gas tax for ICE as is.
