Christmas is the most iconic holiday in the world and it’s full of strange traditions. Activities like hanging stockings and singing songs about flying reindeer have become so deeply ingrained in Christmas, that we don’t even wonder where they came from. When we trace the origin of Christmas traditions, we find that many of them may be linked to the rituals surrounding the Psychedelic mushroom, Amanita muscaria. The large red, white spotted Amanita Muscaria is the most recognizable mushroom on earth. Throughout history and across many cultures, people valued this mysterious mushroom for its powerful hallucinogenic properties.

DAMN YOU CORPORATE WORLD for stealing free mushroom night from me!
@Martin Shepherd, It wasn't really stolen by Christianity, rather it was merely replacing one religion for another. People still got fucked up after Christianity, and amanita muscaria is still legal in many countries.
@Martin Shepherd, Yet it was trading the beliefs of one religion for another; while the traditions may be fact the beliefs they are surrounding are not, and as such how can you say a subjective belief stole objective traditions?
@Martin Shepherd, Well, I mean that's why CHRISTmas is on the 25th; it's to coincide the winter solstice for easier assimilation from one religion to another. However I'm sure you know this already.
I don't think as many people hold the theory of their religion to standard as much as they hold the actual practice.
@@saints360row assimilation sure, but forced assimilation.

Kerry Holt that is very true, People don’t understand that you can learn from them they just see it as getting fucked up
And I’m not saying it’s bad to just trip for fun but you have to understand them
@Kerry Holt sometimes a bad trip is what people need to realize how good life is😊
Amanita Muscaria grows near our home...we make tea with it or eat the dried mushrooms. They are not the same as psilocybin - they provide a completely different experience altogether. Both are great, but demand respect.
Amanita also gives a very warm sensation to your body, which is nice on cold days like today (its below zero here in Wisconsin). I've been thinking of making tea all day - now that I see this video, my decision has been made. :)
Happy Holidays!!!

You should take a look at the pope's staff. The psychedelic effects are believed to open the "third eye" (pineal gland) and the pineal gland is represented by a pine cone. The pine cone is a symbol often used in the vatican.
Also, most Faberger Eggs are decorated like pine cones, they originated in Russia. It may be far fetched, but I think this Mushroom Christmas origin may have started in or near Siberia, it would accurately link Christmas, faberger eggs, and easter (painting eggs like pine cones) to a culture that believed in the true potential of the pineal gland.

@@mmarrky the person who made this video also made some videos about psilocybe, the stoned ape theory for example, where he keeps showing pictures of Amanita Muscaria while talking about psilocybe. Whoever makes these videos is not teaching from experience, they are just rehashing interesting things they learned, like from Joe Rogan, and they don't actually know what they are talking about too well. That speculation about the elves on Amanita was just pure speculation. I never heard of any experiences on Muscaria about machine elves, but dmt I certainly have. This looks like the evolution of how we celebrate Christmas.. "On the 25th of December the whole world does mushrooms"✌🏾
My kind of holiday
the trick is to do them on dec. 21st
This! Would be cool to maybe have local festivals or gatherings where people can get together... eat, dance, fires then take the mushroom at night together around fires , meditation and prayer for healing and peace on 🌍
@@aaronsmith2929 Do them alone in your room on dec. 21st. There is a secret behind it.
But one thing: You have to ask a question before doing it! And you have to ask yourself in the first place, get around the subject, when you can't get further, eat the shrooms and if it is dec 21st say hello to the "alien"!
Yes!!!
On our most recent family mushroom night, yes that's an adults only thing in our family. We all ended up on the floor on our backs for hurs watching ceiling fans, looking at Ansel Adam pictures, using our feet to push us through the house acting like we were swimming the backstroke and constant adult giggling! Great family bonding experience!

No joke that is awesome..if only I could convince all the people in my family to come to the netherrealm with me.. then I can finally stop explaining things to them and they would see it for themselves.. it only takes one time and all the lies are gone. They would see that I'm not just some f****** crazy guy.. I mean don't get me wrong I am pretty crazy but only to their standards they're finally got on my level then I'll just be normal. 🤔

Yeah. I’m quite fond of the idea that the burning bush was an acacia tree. When it was somehow ignited Moses inhaled the smoke which would have contained DMT
Federik it’s undeniably a layer to it, but there’s more to the story than just that
Probably more related to ease of control of large amounts of people out of fear with a pinch of easy money... if you make up a successful religion.

Trippy - so we all are reliving psychedelic adventures of people in woods
Fungi has been on Earth longer than anything else; animals trace their ancestry to fungi; no wonder why we (sentient beings) create a powerful connection through mushrooms to the spirits of the Planet.
@Alexander Supertramp Thanks for asking, animals have been traced back to fungi for a couple of decades at least, several peer reviewed papers and research have confirmed that we share a common ancestor. A simple google search should reveal enough scientific evidence for those seeking validation within that body of work.
And sure, I didn’t mean they were the first thing to ever evolve, quite honestly I’m not sure anybody knows that answer for sure, and anyone claiming it is by default not a science oriented person. I meant it in the context of animal evolution to denote that they have been here before any of them.
Animals tracing their ancestry to fungi is a scientific fact, not pseudoscience. I am sorry if this made you feel uncomfortable as it challenged your convictions, but remember that we all grow from facing them.
I cant get enough of the many different versions of this. This one has been by far my favorite!

If only people would accept the history behind each individual religion and all their varieties
Bean Dar which religion specifically? Each religion came out of its own particular historical circumstances so I just think it’s ignorant to say people need to “accept” the “history of how we wound up religion” as if it’s one particular historical story that covers every individual religion. 🤷♂️

"ate a mushroom and hallucinated that I was the son of God"
- Jesus christ.
Cute except he was not the grantor of the title, & the disciples are the ones who hallucinated his miracles?
@@spitfire5630 the miracles are really pretty silly and unproven. They certainly sound like the stories of people intoxicated on something 🤣
eM97
Lol I like this idea. Another thing to add, back in the day people started cults to gather “their people” and unify them together strictly to avoid some kind of catastrophe or huge problem these people had to face. Then someone like Jesus, pretended to be the son of god to get huge amounts of people to listen to him. So technically making him a fraud.
Can’t 100% prove that Jesus did this, but other people near similar time is history have used this same tactic to strictly give their people a chance for survival basically. Making me believe that Jesus could have easily manipulated unintelligent humans from that era / people on mushrooms to make them think he was this miracle worker.
Jesus went to a place where shrooms grew and hallucinated. It was his "trial" of temptation. He then brought back the shrooms and made his pupils ate shrooms and there was where his miracles came from. Lol
Jesus was the mushroom. John M. Alegro, man. Terence McKenna and Joe Rogan

Love this channel.
2020 has been trippy enough without the need of enhancement
2020 has provided many reasons to take a trip or two (or 10.)
In Germany, after the war, when food was really scarce, people would collect the fly agaric (animita muscaria) mushrooms and boil them multiple times to be able to consume them as food, without any effects.
Because of their fleshy texture, they were often used to stretch what little meat they had. Or in lieu of meat, if they had none.
The last part resonates a lot with something else : under the pine we find the most sacred substance -> isn’t that a reference to the pineal gland and it’s sacred secretion? Look for sacred secretion on TH-cam for more analogies between human body functions and the Bible! That’s amazing.

But Rudolph was invented by a Montgomery Ward; it's not a part of folklore, but capitalism . . . This bad fact makes me question a lot in this video. I'm surprised you didn't mention the mushroom ornaments that are traditionally hung on Christmas trees in Germany.
Also, Santa wearing red is a much more recent phenomena. The origins (a confluence of them) of Santa Claus and his other derivations seem to not lend credence to this theory, which I won't discount totally, but I would have liked to have seen a more thoroughly researched video.
