Contributing to Global Impact: WSBI-ESBG Commitment to the SDGs Video

Desertification, land degradation, and drought are among the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, with up to 40% of all land area worldwide already considered degraded.
On 17 June, hashtag#UNited4Land mobilizes all parts of society in support of sustainable land stewardship. WSBI-ESBG thrives for impact of our member savings and retail banks from 69 countries serving more than 1.4 billion customers world-wide, many of them in areas affected by climate change.
Last year, our members contributed directly or indirectly to land restoration through the issuance of US$ 51 billion of hashtag#greenbonds and US$ 64 million investment in philanthropic support for the environment including hashtag#biodiversity protection, eco-friendly mobility solutions, and green campaigns. A variety of climate insurances and loans for renewable energy were offered as well to their customers.
