    Hi! I absolutely love your videos, I’m going to be a kcl student this coming September and I’m trying to find accommodation close to Denmark hill campus (but champions hill has been closed) please could you do a video on the different accommodations there are in first year and wether most people are willing to walk the 40min/or take transport to get to their campus everyday. Also if you could mention any tips on how people find part time jobs / get money to afford all of it! Sorry I know it’s a lot!

    Hello dear, I found this video such useful.
    I'm a Swiss nurse student, and I was wondering if there are some differences in applying to get a flat in LDN post graduation (I'd like to do a work experience in a couple of years after the bachelor, so I'm already tryin to settle in mind what I should to coming the next years)

    what should put in my UCAS term residency section if I don't have a living place secured? Is it expected that we go through with accommodations before knowing whether or not the university has accepted us? UCAS Applications are due November 2022 but my term would not start until September 2023 *I am an international applicant! Thanks for the helpful content!

    Hey Mei 👋🏻 I was wondering for 3 students looking to move in the last week of August when should we aim to be finalising?

    • @meiyingchow
      @meiyingchow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alex - I feel with covid everything is a bit different this year but there will be a lot more on offer and lower prices which is great. I would say start looking around may if you can or even June 😊 keep your eyes peeled now just in case but the majority won’t start late august rn

    Sorry to bother you but is it that you did not like college hall that you had to change it or did you change your accommodation only for the sake of change. Would you please leave a 30 word review about the college hall and your new accommodation and rate them on a scale of ten. Thanks a lot!

    • @afanali6248

      I know I'm not the person in the video but most people end up leaving student halls after first year especially in London because there just isn't as much space for accomodation for second year and third year students, since first years are prioritised more when it comes to university halls. This means after first year many students have to find housing out of univrsity.

    does anybody know what to do when you can’t live in your student apartment (due to covid-19) but have already paid for 4 months? my private student accommodation/landlord doesn’t want to refund me - is there any way to get my money back? I’ve never stepped a foot into the room since I rented the apartment for an international internship which now won’t happen...

    • @meiyingchow
      @meiyingchow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chrissy Bre that’s definitely a sticky situation. I’m so sorry to hear about that Chrissy :( I know currently there’s a restriction on landlords taking possession over their tenants assets but Im not sure about refunds - www.gov.uk/guidance/government-support-available-for-landlords-and-renters-reflecting-the-current-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak that’s the link for the information as it stands. You probably won’t be able to get a refund but you might be able to get a subsidy from your internship maybe? I know some of my friends are getting displacement packages to help them afford accommodation so maybe look into that? I’m so sorry I can’t be of more help but if I hear anything more I shall let you know!

    • @chrissybre7010
      @chrissybre7010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mei-Ying Chow thank you so much! it’s really tricky :( as an international student I really don’t know much about the English law and what to do in this situation. my university has offered little help but unfortunately not nearly enough to compensate the rent costs. while I obviously don’t want the landlords and staff to lose their jobs, I think it’s extremely unfair how students are treated since I personally can’t even travel to the UK even if I wanted to. I hope the government tries to help out soon! thank you so much for the link though!!! I always try to be up to date on that matter!
