The video quality on both cameras are outstanding! The features are almost there, but there are a few annoying things that you had pointed out. The flashing lights, the need for absolute darkness for the IR, the false human detection at night. Great daytime cameras, so so night time cameras. A few more improvements and this company will blow any competition out of the water! Thanks again for all of your hard work and letting us know about IMOU.
The flashing is fixed with the latest update u can now choose between flashing and solid, i have multiple imou’s and the video quality in my situation is amazing and full color at night without using the spotlights!
The tracking function of the Imou depends on the wifi connection, i have 2 cruisers on my property and i used wifi range extenders and they follow motion perfectly also the lights can now be changed from flashing to solid since the last update, in my situation i dont ever use the flashlight because the lightsensor in the imou camera’s is so good just a little light from the street is enough to kick it in color mode without the lights going on, the only delay there is when using the mic, only negative part i have to say about it is that when it’s raining or snowing i get the usual motion notification but i imagine almost every camera has that problem
I bought an Imou camera some time ago, the video effects is really amazing! I turned on the smart night vision mode. Every time I approach the camera at night, the spotlight will automatically turn on, which is very smart.:))
The Cruiser footage looks better and less compressed than the Eufy 2k footage but the flashing spotlight is annoying and the siren isn’t very intimidating. Maybe they can release an update with more options to customize in the app.
I found that if you turn off the spotlight activation feature, but keep night vision as "smart night vision", you will get the desired spotlight at night without the annoying flashing. The spotlight activation feature I suppose is their active deterrence. However, nighttime performance can be poor as it needs a lot of darkness for the camera to recognize nighttime
I have the Imou New Bullet (1080p) and here you have an option to turn on the spot constanly when sensing motion. Also detection with nichtvison on is working acceptable. Only if you turn the sensitvity above 4 , I get a lot of false positives from cars that are drive by. They do not enter the detection grid, but there headlights , light my neighbors house, with is enough to trigger the camera. Also anoing is that I set a grid that is only monintoring my driveway, so I don't get an alert everytime I go outside, but casting a shadow in the grid (wich I can't avoid) is also enough to sense motion. So even in daylight the camera can't tell the difference between a person and a shadow. But for a $60 camera it is OK.
I also agree with you with the fishing lights. All other cameras have a steady stream of light when they detect movement so why can this camera. I'm sorry but this is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully imou fix this silly issue
hello, if i may, i think you should mention a very important info and test to reviews for imou, as you know, they are from dahua, that has professionals models with important set of settings options, you should try connecting all this cameras that you review to the professional app from dahua, in europe i use DMSS for android, that alloweds a very important option on dahua cameras, the setting of bitrate, this 2 models from the video, records at 1237kbps on cbr, most of the people don't understand that buying a 4mp camera is not that important, but the bitrate is more important, there are cameras buyed from internet 4mp that records at 512kbps or less, and that is where you see that pixels on the image that seems like they are moving or becoming bigger, and even 1237 is not very good, BUT... connecting with DMSS a dahua professional camera, you can set this option, i ussualy use at least 2500kbps, and there is the fun part, imou is a consumer product and should not give you this options, but i discovered that some imou models could do it, i personaly buyed and tried the Imou Bullet Lite 4mp camera, and made it connect to DMSS and modified the bitrate, and the image is way better at 2500 or 3000 kbps instead of the preset 1235kbps of the camera. You should try on every review if the camera is able to receive the modification of the bitrate from the DMSS because even if the DMSS connects to camera and modifie the values, not all imou models complie to this modifications, so you have to set it, record, and control the video if it has the bitrate that you set, on an Imou Cue 2E, even if i set it like on the others, the camera continues to record at 1267kbps, so is all test that you should do. Of course the Micro SD will fill faster, but the quality of the video is better, if something happens, you usually check the recordings soon after the facts, i prefer better quality and less days of recording.
before watching your review, i was planning to buy one of theses, but with the human detection not working at night literaly kill my interest. Thank you for preventing me a lot of frustration !

I will eventually do a video on this because it is not as simple as you think. Any straight showing of the license plate that I usually do will cause an IR glare for infrared night vision and even a light glare if it is in color with lights ON.
the cameras I have used, all set off motion events for bugs, fog, rain and snow. Which can also have a camera spinning when you have on tracking.. as well as if you have trees or bushes and wind.
Wow these look great, and can even see plates from far away unlike the compressed eufy cam 2 pros. May have to give these a shot, wish it was wire free though
Купил камеру ( IMOU Cruiser 4mp) для охраны частного дома, доверился бренду и пожалел. Первый раз тестировал сначала внутри дома, распаковал, установил приложение Imou life и начал ходить по комнате. Ходить долго не пришлось, минут через 10 камера замерла в одном положении и зависла, по питанию перезагружаешь и вроде бы оживает, но это же не вариант каждый раз её дёргать, отнёс её обратно в магазин, мне выдали другую такой же модели. Вторую сразу повесил на столб для наблюдения за частным домом. Вечером вроде работала, следила за мной когда я ходил по участку и изредка присылала уведомления об обнаружении человека. Ну думаю всё нормально, даже обрадовался, но радость была недолгой, ночью начался полный кошмар, сообщения об обнаружении движения стали сыпаться всю ночь. Каждая пылинка которая пролетает и засвечивается инфракрасной подсветкой воспринималась как движение. Всю ночь игрался с настройками, выключал все переключатели детекции в приложении Imou Life, даже прочертил маленькую зону детекции но ничего не помогало. В итоге в три часа ночи камера уже устала от отправки сообщений и больше ничего не присылает. Теперь никакие перемещения людей уже её не беспокоят, работает просто как удалённое видеонаблюдение. Чтобы её перезагрузить по питанию нужно вызывать подъёмник, камера высоко на столбе с ИБП, снизу ей питание не отключить и не перезапустить, restart через Imou Life не помогает. У соседа дешевая китайская PTZ камера mackvision с Алиэкспресс, свои функции выполняет на 100% и не виснет, а я решил купить что то брендовое, на этом и обжегся, больше про бренд Imou даже слышать ничего не хочу !!! Отнесу вторую камеру назад в магазин и заберу деньги. Ещё из обнаруженных минусов по IMOU Cruiser 4Mp: 1) очень тихий динамик на камере для двухсторонней связи, у дешевых камер с Алиэкспресс намного громче. 2) в приложении Imou Life невозможно удалить точку доступа WiFi, если один раз прописали то чтобы камера её забыла нужен reset to factory зажатием кнопки на камере 3) приложение Imou Life использует на смартфоне системный звук для сообщений ( одиночный сигнал ), представляете в два часа ночи ваш объект или загородный дом грабят а приложение пикает один раз и замолкает, хотя в идеале необходимо непрерывное звуковое сообщение и вывод меню с запросом подтвердить и отменить тревогу 4) зум в камере цифровой, метров 25 - 30 и с высоты номер машины уже не узнать. 5) в приложении Imou Life нет возможности отправки камере команды "reset to factory defaults" если нужно сбросить на заводские, то в моём случае это вызов подъёмника для доступа к камере на высоте, чтобы зажать кнопочку. Похоже что внутренности в этой камере самые дешевые и не лучше чем в камерах с Алиэкспресс, основная стоимость камеры это похоже зарплаты программистов для приложения Imou Life, но ничего крутого в этом приложении я не увидел.
Damn... I ordered one of the 1080 versions of these. Didn't know the spotlight was going to be flashing. I just wanted something to illuminate the area when there is motion.
There´s something that I don´t understand..Do this cameras provide a true color night vision mode without the spotlights on?..And, in that case, image is as clear as a Hikvision ColorVu camera, for example?
This is very strange as I have recently installed the Imou looc bullet camera a previous version to the one you have and the light comes on as you would expect at night and doesn't flash (but it doesn't have human detection), the picture quality is excellent. A backwards step for the new camera version really.
I have some annoying problems with my Cruiser 4MP. Settings for human detection only is active but the camera records falling leafs, rain, bugs etc. Do you have this problem to? Thanks for a great channel.
I have the same issue. Camera outdoor generates a lot of false alarms during night with IR, due to rain drops, snow flakes, flying bugs. I not recommed till they fix it. It's not as promised in adv.
I bought the Imou Cruiser 4MP based on your intro. Since the power will be too far from the camera, I am trying to use the analog CCTV cable( with bnc video and 5.5mm power) as power extent ion cord. Unfortunately, the 75ft cable won't be able to carry the 12V/1A needed to power the Cruiser4MP. Is the quality of my analog CCTV cable the problem or in general analog CCTV cable is not capable to carry 12V/1A? Thank you for the video and keep up the good work.
What do you mean about the power cable not being waterproof. Do you mean where it is plugged into the camera? or all of the cable? You couldn’t get them short cables through the wall so the other cable must be waterproof or what good are they??? This had me very confused indeed🤔

I just received my cruiser yesterday, and in testing is really no better then my 49$ I just bought 2 weeks ago. Better night vision , tracking . It's a boavision , very bright constant light...I'm not knocking your review, you did a good job of doing it for those cams.
My Bullet, Bullet 2c and Bullet lite 4mp have the same problem in detecting human, I had high hopes with the bullet, because it has PIR Sensor, but it is crap, it even detects light from moving cars, and bugs
@@lolsxboy not solved yet, they stopped supporting updates on the New Bullet, but the Bullet 2c still have updates, like HDR. The 2c handles false detection way better than the New Bullet.
Great vid. I got the Bullet 2e with spotlight. After firmware update, the spotlight is now default always on when detecting not flashing. You can toggle flashing on. I also gave a street light not too far away other side of the street and it goes into night vision just fine. Thanks for raising the feedback. You might be partially responsible for the firmware upgrade Still get a few false alerts night time but seams better than your experience anidotally Maybe they fixed some of the concerns.
Yes I have done that but it has not got as many adjustments for the camera as the imou app has and the camera will only install on one app or the other it will not appear on both

I just recently found your channel, and, wow!... You have a very thorough playlist of a large variety of security camera's. I get excited when I get a notification of a new video from you... anxious to see what your reviewing and what your thoughts are. It'll take awhile to go thru your previous videos, but I do have a couple questions in the meantime that I hope you can answer. Have you reviewed/used any security camera's, preferably wireless, that do not require internet/wifi to use them, and that have an SD card? And, as for the SD card, do any of them have the ability to view the files by inserting the SD card into a PC? Or do they all require viewing thru either a Homebase or a phone app? I have a question. I tested the Wifi Detection Tool to determine where the camera needs to be installed. Although I do the test next to my router (i have a 100mgbs connection) the results I'm getting are: PING 261ms Download 5mb/s and upload 5,2 Mb/s with the indication that network status is poor. It is recommended to select another proper location. This is weird.
hello friend, I just bought the same camera but honestly the image quality is not the same as the video quality. license plates are indistinguishable unless it is a very short distance. my camera says to be 4mp QHD
human detection doesn't work in any imou camera in NIGHT VISION human detection mode. night vision has many other bugs too in imou all cameras, like the detection zone movements are not picked up correctly and even any light or shadow will trigger your notification although the human detection was on too. . IMOU is Really bad for night times .

Thanks, love your reviews and wish there was a fleet of you as you're the only truly detailed reviewer. These cams are basically what I've been wanting. Can you do motion tests where you walk straight towards cameras? I think it would greatly help for people who have cams for their driveways or side of home. Also when motion is recorded in 24/7 mode are you able to see it highlighted on the timeline? EZVIZ doesn't have this and it's so annoying.
I usually don't do straight towards camera testing with wired or plug in cameras because they have pre-recording feature... you will always get the footage from the start of the motion if not before it. I only test this on battery powered cameras.
@@LifeHackster Tried the Eufy 2K again at my front door and it just does not detect people coming straight ahead. I have to set it to sound detection to maybe get someone. Person detection and video quality has been my #1 issue as sure I can deal with the annoyance of scrubbing a timeline for an the times before/after an event but false alerts and no alerts when a person actually shows up is too much. I might try these to see how well they do for my need.
@@ThexDynastxQueen - do you have the battery powered or the wired one? As to doorbells, Ring pro, pro 2 or their doorbell wired are the ones working for me without issues and they detect somebody at the front door 100% of the time and all of them have pre-recording which the recording will start before the person is seen in the camera. I heard that eufy’s AI is not 100 percent reliable..you can also try turning off human detection and see.

Unfortunately, the auto tracking is not reliable...As to ankke, I did review them a while back.
Damn... I ordered one of the 1080 versions of these. Didn't know the spotlight was going to be flashing. I just wanted something to illuminate the area when there is motion.
I have the 1080 version and the light is steady not flashing like the new version.

LEDs should last long and even outlast the camera themselves.
There´s something that I don´t understand..Do this cameras provide a true color night vision mode without the spotlights on?..And, in that case, image is as clear as a Hikvision ColorVu camera, for example?

This is very strange as I have recently installed the Imou looc bullet camera a previous version to the one you have and the light comes on as you would expect at night and doesn't flash (but it doesn't have human detection), the picture quality is excellent.
A backwards step for the new camera version really.

I bought the Imou Cruiser 4MP based on your intro. Since the power will be too far from the camera, I am trying to use the analog CCTV cable( with bnc video and 5.5mm power) as power extent ion cord. Unfortunately, the 75ft cable won't be able to carry the 12V/1A needed to power the Cruiser4MP. Is the quality of my analog CCTV cable the problem or in general analog CCTV cable is not capable to carry 12V/1A? Thank you for the video and keep up the good work.

What do you mean about the power cable not being waterproof. Do you mean where it is plugged into the camera? or all of the cable? You couldn’t get them short cables through the wall so the other cable must be waterproof or what good are they??? This had me very confused indeed🤔
Would be nice if you could add check how well these NVR cams work with HomeKit or HomeBridge!
If I don't mention it..then it doesn't work with it... and I'm not sure what a HomeBridge is..

I just received my cruiser yesterday, and in testing is really no better then my 49$ I just bought 2 weeks ago. Better night vision , tracking . It's a boavision , very bright constant light...I'm not knocking your review, you did a good job of doing it for those cams.

My Bullet, Bullet 2c and Bullet lite 4mp have the same problem in detecting human, I had high hopes with the bullet, because it has PIR Sensor, but it is crap, it even detects light from moving cars, and bugs

@@lolsxboy not solved yet, they stopped supporting updates on the New Bullet, but the Bullet 2c still have updates, like HDR. The 2c handles false detection way better than the New Bullet.

I got the Bullet 2e with spotlight.
After firmware update, the spotlight is now default always on when detecting not flashing. You can toggle flashing on.
I also gave a street light not too far away other side of the street and it goes into night vision just fine.

Yes I have done that but it has not got as many adjustments for the camera as the imou app has and the camera will only install on one app or the other it will not appear on both

Have you reviewed/used any security camera's, preferably wireless, that do not require internet/wifi to use them, and that have an SD card? And, as for the SD card, do any of them have the ability to view the files by inserting the SD card into a PC? Or do they all require viewing thru either a Homebase or a phone app?

I have a question. I tested the Wifi Detection Tool to determine where the camera needs to be installed. Although I do the test next to my router (i have a 100mgbs connection) the results I'm getting are: PING 261ms Download 5mb/s and upload 5,2 Mb/s with the indication that network status is poor. It is recommended to select another proper location. This is weird.

human detection doesn't work in any imou camera in NIGHT VISION human detection mode.
night vision has many other bugs too in imou all cameras, like the detection zone movements are not picked up correctly and even any light or shadow will trigger your notification although the human detection was on too. . IMOU is Really bad for night times .

Can you do motion tests where you walk straight towards cameras? I think it would greatly help for people who have cams for their driveways or side of home. Also when motion is recorded in 24/7 mode are you able to see it highlighted on the timeline? EZVIZ doesn't have this and it's so annoying.
I usually don't do straight towards camera testing with wired or plug in cameras because they have pre-recording feature... you will always get the footage from the start of the motion if not before it. I only test this on battery powered cameras.
@@LifeHackster Tried the Eufy 2K again at my front door and it just does not detect people coming straight ahead. I have to set it to sound detection to maybe get someone. Person detection and video quality has been my #1 issue as sure I can deal with the annoyance of scrubbing a timeline for an the times before/after an event but false alerts and no alerts when a person actually shows up is too much. I might try these to see how well they do for my need.
@@ThexDynastxQueen - do you have the battery powered or the wired one? As to doorbells, Ring pro, pro 2 or their doorbell wired are the ones working for me without issues and they detect somebody at the front door 100% of the time and all of them have pre-recording which the recording will start before the person is seen in the camera. I heard that eufy’s AI is not 100 percent reliable..you can also try turning off human detection and see.
