  • This video discusses the fundamental principle and application of Ma-ai, and breaks it down into an understanding of zones in context of Aikido practice, open hand, and weapons. A few exercises are also provided to create sensitivity for maintaining constant distance against an attacker, and utilizing rowing exercise (torifuniundo) to leverage "stretching distance" and irimi (entering) effectively.
The music track for this video was provided by Consinity ( / consinityband ) - give them a listen!

Very nice explanation easy to understand. I think it includes not only management of Maai but also Kokyu.
