    That’s going to look so pretty, I didn’t think of using a pot. I miss the Santa Ana winds, when I was in grammar school we would lift our coats in the back like a sail and it would push us out to the field.

    May I ask what gardening zone you are in?

    Thank you for this! Especially enjoyed seeing how you construct a simple and attractive support, as the manufactured obelisks are SO expensive.

      Thank YOU for commenting and watching! I was just outside picking some sweet peas from these very trellises!

      @@FreckledCalifornian, the joys of being in a California climate! We're in Seattle, and probably a couple of months from that. Thanks, again!

    Hi, thank you for this! You made me want to plant my pots also and I want to buy some sweet pea starts, but if I can't find any I will direct sow some seeds. I, 'm is zone 9a. CA

      Aw I'm so glad! I hope you can find some starts. If not, just be sure to protect your direct sown seeds. The birds love to eat the little sprouts in my garden!

    Great video Randi. So helpful. I just planted Mammoth Sweet Pea blend seeds. Ahead of the game this year. Last year I waited too long and they got fried in June.

    What kind of branches are you using for the trellis?

    • @FreckledCalifornian
      @FreckledCalifornian  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      not exactly sure, as we mix all our pruned branches together. Most likely plum, pomegranate, or apricot.

    Great video! Those are giant pots do that need that big of a pot or root depth??

      Generally, the larger the pot the better. You're right about the roots needing space, but it's also less work to water. You could do a smaller pot, but you'll have to make sure to keep the soil moist.
