I know you did this video to demo the vocalist live, but you helped me make up my mind on the JamMan Stereo. I was torn between the JamMan and two others I won't mention. I bought the JamMan yesterday after hearing your demo. This is one good song and a great demo of the Digitech products. Keep em coming.

Absolute best demo of the Vocalist 3, trust me I e watched all of them lol. Really trippy thanks man you’re great

Best to use these units is by an XLR splitter cable, one end plugs in to the mic and then you have two female ends at the other end. One goes direct to the mixer and the other goes through the VL 2,3,4 or 5, works the same way as the video shows You can then eq the harmony channel any way you like without altering your main vocal channel.

@mitchell797979 If you wanted to use distortion, i would recomend putting distortion after this in your pedal chain.

Thanks for an extremely helpful, well done demo Matt! i have a TC Helicon, and a Boss, and this VoiceLive3 follows your melodies better than the others. i learned this from your great demo with trills and nuances in your very good voice. Thanks!

Hi. I have one of these and must say that it needs to be set up which is very easy and simple. The Harmonies may be coloured or left alone using your own sounding voice. Also the Guitar sensitivity can be set to hi or low. The Harmony foot switch can be tailored to your needs in terms of how the peddle works,(holding the peddle down or clicking on-off) In this demo the harmony could be turned down and it will be quite good. Remember it’s 24 bit 44.1kHz so the quality is very good. Solid and rugged, great from studio harmony too. It’s a great product that sounds believable if you put the time in and listen closely to your results. Hope this helps some of you. :)

It will work with a 12 string no problem. With keyboards they seem to track ok as long as you use organ or piano sounds. Results will vary using synth pad or string swell keyboard sounds. the VL3D has midi control for harmonies with a keyboard.

Just bought one last night from Amazon. Hope it works for me ! Sounds great, but it does help that the demo guy's voice is pretty awesome in the first place. I'll know better, how good it turns out when a very average ( not bad, but far from stage worthy ) singer such as myself uses it. Hoping it's pitch corrector can cover a multitude of vocal sins, but i'm gonna have a lot of fun with it anyway i hope !

In other words, I need a way to get the guitar signal into the Vocalist to control the harmonies, but turn the Thru on/off depending on whether the guitar should be heard or not heard. Did Digitech think of that?

The main thing with harmony pedals (and I've tried them all), you need to sing like a harmony singer. The generated harmony parts aren't very realistic if you just sing in your normal vocal lead style (as this guy mostly does). Also mix the harmonies a bit lower.

Wow, the Live 3 really makes for a rich stong harmony. I am not a musician but have a serious singing bug and sing with soundtracks (karaoke singer). Would the Live 3 help me to have some harmony which I want on some older group songs or does it only work with a guitar or other instrument as you showed here?

The one thing I'm curious about is instead of using a guitar or digital piano to set the harmony voices, could you instead use a dry audio signal from a karaoke CD for example on the guitar thru-patch so you wouldn't get feedback into main audio?

Hello! How does the backings responds to the chords with 5 chords distortion? Does they get the same definition of harmony of natural chords? About the INPUT button GAIN MIC input side , what`s the difference in practice and which level do you indicate? And those buttons Setup and Harmony Patch, does it serve to do what? Thanks a lot!

    • @keithmeddock1243
      @keithmeddock1243 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This thing connects before your guitar is processed thru your amp...distortion should not matter......Basically, you have a mic and guitar, cord from each of them plug into this unit then out of this unit to your amp or other pedals then amp and PA system respectively. It is using the clean vibrations from your guitar pick ups.

  • @Hooverdarnit

Note to all. If you have a bad voice, the harmonies won't sound good either.

Works great for vocals even w/out a guitar. I use to have the Digitech Live Vocalist 2 and it worked great for karaoke singing and online karaoke recording(singsnap.com). It produces nice harmonies along with reverb, compression(smooths out your vocal volume changes), and also has a pretty decent pre-amp for your mic with phantom power. At least the Vocalist 2 had
decent pre-amp. Nice piece of equipment to have. To record to my pc I connected the Vocalist to a USB interface.

if i run an acoustic guitar thru the vocal 3 first (guitar input) and use the (guitar thru) will it let you use the reverb and chorus effects on the guitar? I'd like to run the Vocal 3 (guitar part only) on to a JamMan Looper. Be nice to have reverb and chorus if needed. Someone help...:)

Just for interest in the pitch correction option, is it possible to use the pitch correction without a guitar to play the chords? I noticed he said a guitar was needed with the harmonizing. Does the same rule go for pitch correction, or can you set it without a guitar?

Regardless of the I'll commented I've been playing solo for years because of the lack of competent musicians in a 100 mile area, yes I live in the sticks but we have great music compared to the broken record crap that seem to be popular without any real music composition involved.
