Tip from a swede, you never say "Trevligt att träffas", that's a typical book example which would sound very old fashioned 😆 A more modern way to say hi to someone (unless you old) would be to say: "Tja (Slang hello), läget? Hi! It’s so nice to see your comment here because I’m a Korean. 🇰🇷 Recently I started to learn Swedish, using Duolingo. I’ve been always thinking about visiting Sweden or studying(probably for master’s degree) in there since 2017! If you have any interest of questions about Korean language, maybe I can help you. Hallå! Jag heter Storm. Trevligt att träffas. I was looking for a beautiful (to me) language to learn. Listened to nearly all European languages, particularly enjoyed Dutch, German and Swedish. Was trying to pick one that appeals to me the most (it's really hard, because I like all 3 for various reasons) and finally started to lean towards Swedish (thanks to Garmarna songs). And this is the first video I found when looking for basics. Wow, so lovely, it's a pleasure to listen to you! Tack så mycket! Also I had a lot of fun reading comments!
@@viktorlampinen1785 thank you for the cheerful comment, but really I can only understand a few phrases in Swedish without using Google translate. I started at about the time I posted that comment, in summer, but it wasn't some kind of course, I simply started to watch something on my own. Tried to buy a text book (I chose Rivstart), but was unable to find it in my country. However, my friend mentioned that her sister who lives in UK used to study Swedish and she might be able to pass her text books to me when they meet. For now I watch some videos on grammar, try to expand vocabulary a little, listen to Garmarna songs and ballads, have them hand-written in a copy-book and try to sing 💙💛

This is slow 💀 just replay parts over and over if you need to. If she speaks to fast I recommend a channel called something like "slow Swedish" its made by a woman, she speaks Swedish very slowly to help learners keep up
I've been trying to half-ass learn Swedish on and off for 25 years. Back in the 90s, I had a book that came with a cassette. I rarely used the cassette and the closest I knew to Swedish was German which I had in high school. So when reading Swedish words, I often used German rules when pronouncing. I often tell my daughter to watch her huvud.
I have been learning Swedish for about 5 months. I think I’m learning it rather quickly. The reason I’m learning it fast is because I listen and don’t read. Well not “don’t” read, but I purposely ignore the text on the screen when I’m doing my lessons. I feel like I know almost as much Swedish as I do Spanish which I have yet to master because I realized trying to learn it from a book was the worst way possible. Now when I listen to Spanish I even understand it more. I had to rewire my brain to really hear the language and not just learn word after word after word. Hope this helps!
@@Funkensense I get back into when I know I'm heading up there. I have a trip planned for the first two weeks of August near Västervik. I often do this, when I know I'm traveling to a country, I will try to learn as much of that language as I can. Italian is probably the closest I have to a 4th although not anywhere close to being conversational. My mother language is English, 2nd is German (fluent), 3rd Swedish but not conversational level.
I am from. Greece and I love your country and your mentality. I will have a Swedish boy after some months so I hope people in hospitals are nice because now u scared me little that they are not so friendly with strangers
That's the problem with every single resource designed for foreigners, when learning a language. They are always too formal, and stiff, and they focus too much on boring stuff like grammatical rules that you're not going to remember anyway. If you wanna learn another language, you should throw school books out the window and change your mindset from learning to acquiring. As in you don't learn a language, you acquire it naturally by getting input. Watch every movie and or series that you can find in your target language, and watch without subtitles, so that your brain may focus on the task that it was designed for; pattern recognition. That's really the only way you're gonna be able to pick up all the subtle quirks and features of a language. A baby does not acquire its mother tongue by studying books and grammatical rules, they acquires their mother tongue by listening to their parents. My cousin's kid speaks perfect English at the age of six, he acquired it all by himself just by playing games and watching tons of TH-cam videos.
@@soulextracter yea, I think you're right. If you live in south america you wont learn any english in school, its actually useless, in my classroom there are ppl who knows everything, phrasal verbs, pronunciation, grammar (none of them have learned that in school, but tv and movies) but the most of my classmates (including me) ain't that prepared, so the teacher just write something in the blackboard no matter if someone doesn't get it, because idk, that person knows conjunctions but has no idea of pron obj. cuz his last teacher didn't teach him that
@Matty Bruno Lucas Zenere Salas I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying he was raised as an idiot, or are you calling me an idiot? If the latter is the case, you missed a comma. What do you mean with "it doesn't work that way.."? Literally every baby acquire their mother tongue that way. As I said, the brain is a pattern recognition machine.
Bruh I don't mean to be rude but that guy is right, the way a baby learns a language is by listening to his mom or people around, they can learn that when someone repeat several sounds but in different situations its something apart from the other sounds. I know this cuz I saw an experiment in Natgeo by Tim Shaw when I was younger, in this experiment people could tell what they think is word in an invented language by knowing what group of sounds were repeated.

For Filipinos at heart, this is the language that very much easy because this the language of IKEA, ABBA, Volvo(which is my favorite bus maker), Young Royals(which is on Netflix) and PewDePie but because Filipinos loved anything Swedish like IKEA and Volvos, this is perfect to learn to meet someone in Sweden
I’m a Norwegian “learning” Swedish, basically the same
I'm a Brazilian watching a video in English about basic Swedish expressions ... It's a lot of internationality!🇧🇷❤🇸🇪

i’m swedish and brazilian but my portuguese needs some help 😆
I am Romanian native who learned French and English in school, as a kid growing up in Europe. I moved to the States and learned Spanish just by watching some Spanish movies. I can utter some words in German and Italian, just enough to get around when visiting their countries. But Swedish is a totally different story. Hardest of them all!😂
just rewatched young royals for the 7th time today and i'm here smh

This goes a bit to fast
Just set the video on 75% speed.
We Swedes talk that fast so get use to it lol
I’m trying to learn Swedish so I can watch young royals on Netflix
Same bestie lmaoooo 😂😭 I swear I’ll be fluent by the time season 2 comes

It is also good to know the phrase "God eftermiddag". This is the phrase that is used during the afternoon. It literally translates to "good after midday" but it means good afternoon. I don't know why this wasn't included within the video but either way "Hej" is the typical greeting regardless of the time of day. I just think if you're learning a new language everything should be included.
I was born and raised here and for 33 years i have never used it, other then for fun or ironically
Please stop smiling while talking. Swedish is already hard enough and you make it harder
The irony is that no one smiles just casually in Sweden.
😂 i googled the easiest language to learn, and here I am. I can’t get past how to pronounce Trevligt.
@@richellebennett4730 English is pretty easy too, i would say.
Have you tried learning Russian? This is easy as far as I know
@@MKTheGreat Actually it's 1 of the hardest languages to learn if you're not an English speaker.
Thanks for the lesson, I reallu appreciate that! btw, I'm proficient in English, but I also study French in my uni and Swedish on my own, and I live in Ukraine, so I'm fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.

Did she lie do?
C'mon go easy on her 😂
It's just the way for me to learn Swedish. I need the motivation
Mina händer - My hands - Käteni ( swe - eng - fin )
Mina händer - Mine happens - Miina tapahtuu .. ( mine=weapon )
Mine - gruva - kaivos ( eng - swe - fin )
Mine - min - minun
Min - face expression - ilme ( swe - eng - fin )
Starting to learn this. I am retaining it a little better than when I tried out other languages. I know Spanish, English, and Brazilian Portuguese so I hope this is easier to learn in less than a year.
Hi everyone trying to learn swedish out there!! ;)
2 quick questions for you guys:
1. As someone trying to learn swedish, what are the 2 biggest issues you're dealing with?
2. Regarding learning swedish, what would you wish for, more than anything else?
Would be really interesting to know :) - looking forward to reading your answers!
@@dbla-u9e I would say yes, it makes you a part of the culture
@@dbla-u9e as a native swedish speaker, you don't have to learn swedish to come here. 99% of the people who live here can speak english fluently. Though, it is cool when someone actually bothers to learn it.
1. Definitely pronunciation @.@
I tried using books, and that's a no go. Ive taught myself how to say so many words incorrectly. "Skjorta" is still kicking my ass
2. I plan to be moving one day soon, and truthfully, I don't expect to come in fluent. But id like to be able to read signs, and ask basic questions at least

Hello beautiful👋
If any of you have ANY questions at all about Swedish or Sweden, don't hesitate asking me!
I'm learning Korean for BTS and traveling purposes etc, and I know how grateful I am for help. And I'd gladely help anyone here that needs it! :D
Hi! It’s so nice to see your comment here because I’m a Korean. 🇰🇷
Recently I started to learn Swedish, using Duolingo. I’ve been always thinking about visiting Sweden or studying(probably for master’s degree) in there since 2017!
If you have any interest of questions about Korean language, maybe I can help you. (I have the highest level of a Korean language lisense, which means my ability to use Korean is probably above top 1% or higher even in my country.)
Sadly, my English is not good enough, but still I can read or understand basic texts. I hope we could talk about Korea and Sweden…probably in English.

Din svenska är ju jättebra! När började du lära dig svenska?
I'm Swedish, I have no idea why I'm watching this, but it's great.

Question for Swedish people watching this. What advice would you give for people wanting to learn your language ?
To stop waisting your time. We have more english speakers then Canada per capita. Only time it would be useful is if you're planning to move here permanently.
Like with any language, repetition. Find swedish material that you enjoy to consume.

ha ha yeah .. she is soo fast
This is slow 💀 just replay parts over and over if you need to. If she speaks to fast I recommend a channel called something like "slow Swedish" its made by a woman, she speaks Swedish very slowly to help learners keep up
@@virtualarmageddon6232 She speaks slowly, but she doesn't pause long enough between phrases for you to really remember anything.

If you talk to someone in Swedish or listen to someone talk in English is it more easy:)
Chinese is the easiest language
Instead of saying “Talar” or “Tala” You can say like “Pratar” of “Prata” unless you wanna sound old lol
If you live in south america you wont learn any english in school, its actually useless, in my classroom there are ppl who knows everything, phrasal verbs, pronunciation, grammar (none of them have learned that in school, but tv and movies) but the most of my classmates (including me) ain't that prepared, so the teacher just write something in the blackboard no matter if someone doesn't get it, because idk, that person knows conjunctions but has no idea of pron obj. cuz his last teacher didn't teach him that
You know what? I don't even know if I wrote that right
@Matty Bruno Lucas Zenere Salas I'm not sure what you mean.
Im from Sweden but when I listen at this and think about it, it is a hard language to learn
