damn, that's one beautiful coffee shop. Great work. And some great hints with the intricacies of the building stuff. Especially the "take 2, get a grid" thing. I've just started with the game yesterday, and my buildings so far are totally amateurish, but these things will help. A lot.

    Hey Ctop, great tutorials!
One thing about the grid height. It's certainly useful!
When placing walls for example, instead of always snapping 4 meters up with shift, you can lower the grid height to raise the wall a little bit higher. So you're not limited by the size of the walls anymore.

You are so nice with what you do. Thank you. Last night, I was trying to build a little house with Limeplaster and orange/yellow roof just like how the game did with the last mission on the pirate section (the game made a nice house to house beef and milkshake shops, so I wanted to make one to house a hotdog place). After I built the roof to fit exactly the length of the building, I wanted the roof to stick out little bit to make it look better. So I used the edge pieces that the game provided and went smooth. But the problem is the long piece to put on top of the roof to finish off the left and right side of the roof I built up. Since the piece has certain length, I wanted the piece to overlap on purpose to cover the little roof ends I extended. However, it kept wanting to go by grid, so this piece would stick out so much (i expanded like 10% of the grid with the roof edge pieces, so sticking out alot). So I gave up and erased the extension I made =( Do you know how you could move a piece just little by little to cover the little extension? Hope you understood my question. I literally drew what I did with texts haha. But hey nonetheless, I appreciate videos like this. Thank you.

Another super video. Did see on another video you gave away a copy of the game. Hope it was my suggestion, in a prior video that Frontier decided to give you a copy for that purpose. Now that you have started to do tutorials, on the game your videos are even more important to both Frontier and your subs. I feel this game is going to BE HUGE, and you seem to be a vital part of it's coming success. I know there are others but have not even started to look at them. You present the best in every factor. Creative Talent, Presentation, Fun, and now Teaching.

FYI, adjusting Grid Height can be really helpful when doing roofing work. Adjusting it changes the height a piece snaps to when you use the shift key to change its height, and as such allows for fine placement height-wise of walls/roofs/scenery.

The grid height determines how much you raise your piece at a time. It's kinda like angle snap in some way. Pulling the grid height down to 0 makes sure you can put roofs in the ground so it looks like floor, among other things.

Regarding the discoloration from floor pieces showing through walls: One thing I've noticed is that the facing of the wall sometimes matters when it comes to floor/roof pieces showing through. Even if both faces of a wall look identical, there seems to be one side of the wall that is designated the "front". When that side of the wall is facing out, I tend to notice fewer pieces of floor/roof and even other wall pieces showing through it. It doesn't always seem to apply like that but most of the time, that's how I've seen it working so if you see your floor/roof piece showing through your wall, try rotating the wall so the other face is facing outward and it may stop that from happening.
