"Parle-moi de ma mère" from CARMEN by Ekaterina Siurina & Charles Castronovo 2020 (Our favourites)

After "Parigi, o cara" from LA TRAVIATA (is.gd/VkKTbg) the soprano Ekaterina Siurina and the tenor Charles Castronovo are presenting us another duet - as part of „Our favourites“:
In "Parle-moi de ma mère" from the first act of Georges Bizet's CARMEN, Micaëla, who is in love with Don José, delivers a letter from his mother in which she advises him to take Micaëla as his wife. Although initially convinced by mother's proposal, Don José will make a different decision in the course of the opera. After all, in real life Ekaterina Siurina and Charles Castronovo are a married couple!

Castronovo has a dark and powerful voice, very much like the former Kaufmann had. He s singing is effortless and vibrant. A joy to listen to. A pity he has not received so much media attention and marketing.
