Bawb Scharfe I literally had that idea running my mind as soon as I heard the show was getting updated. A Goofy Movie is one of Disney's best treasures in my opinion and it never gets representation in the parks. Maybe if we get a firework show like Happily Ever After here, it can get the recognition it deserves! 😃

Disney has really been trying to jam pack their shows with as many movies as possible lately and honestly it's just not working. Their shows don't feel focused enough anymore. It's like they're trying to score points for each movie they reference.

I hate the voice of the new female vocalist for the song. Her voice is so harsh and not as gentle as the original singer. I just dont feel the vibe with this one as much as the original fantasmic :(
The woman I believe is Heather Headly ( don't know how to spell her last name). She was the original Nala in Broadway's the Lion king. I love her singing style but, I agree they should have used her somewhere else and added a soft sound for this part.
I do like the original female singer too... she had more strength and personality to her singing than the new one.
Sadly the original female singer, Jane Correa sadly passed way in 2010. Jane Correa RIP.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, because I think the power and emotion of Headley's vocals rising and falling alongside the magnificence of the fountains swelling and falls pairs better than the previous version.
I guess I am just used to the old show, because I have been watching it since I was really young, when I see the fountains for the show I think of calming so I thought the softness of the original singers voice matched it pretty well. Especially during the princess's parts when they were dancing. Thats the part I missed the most in terms of the original music. It just felt more magical to me.
Oh definitely, dont get me wrong, she has a great voice. i just think it's a bit too powerful for the fantasmic theme song.

I don't get why people are upset about the new show. It is amazing and has evolved a lot form the original. Sometimes you need to take out the old and put in the new. I think it's simply amazing.
I think it's an argument of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." A lot of this show was perfect the way it was, but a lot of the new additions seem so rushed and messy. I don't think they were trying to hold onto the same charm the first version had. Just my opinion though.
I'm just happy to have it back :) Really impressed with how clear the projections are on the water screens as well!
Is anybody going to talk about how they removed the Evil Queen transformation part?!?! 😭😭 I really liked that part. And I didn't really like the POTC part. But other that that I liked the show. It was amazing😃😃

Now this is truly a fateful revival of the original Fantasmic which actually works. Although I miss the original 1992 version, this one is still great as it is.

I really loved it as much as the original. The only thing I really didn't like are the Aladdin magic carpet ride and Tangled replacement for Snow White. 9 out of 10! Worth seeing it, even you love the original more.
Tj Samson Tangled totally stole the beginning choreography for Snow White too. Snow and Jasmine are my favorites so I'm biased but yeah, it didn't quite flow as the original princess section.

Right?! In the princess sequence, the Snow White finale was incredibly epic. The tangle finale was kinda a let down. Also why was it all one vocalist? Was it Celine dion? It didn't sound as good as the old version.

Thank you for the update. I saw the original live, saw the update thru TH-cam, and both were excellently, the way that only Disney can do. Sometimes you couldn't tell which were the projections and which were the live action. Much Kudos Disney!!!! Very well done.
I tried to like the Pirates part but PLEASE bring back Peter Pan! It was a highlight of the show.
What the heck...why do they start with lion king and then switch to Jungle Book? And where is the big bang at the end? I miss this bomb a lot...
I feel like the old grand finale was way better than this one. They cut so much of the fireworks out of the show, which is sad. A lot of the scenes I felt were kinda rushed (bad pacing). The Pirates scene was cool but I didn't really see the projection mapping like they said, I don't know if it was just the camera perspective or quality. Music was epic and in my opinion in the new scenes, the music was too "modern day electronicy". The Dragon scene was different with a awkward beginning but a freaking amazing finish. Some of the lighting use (the side stages) were unnecessary and distracting, but when they were put to good use, they were bombing! The opening was my favorite new part, so much hype! The old show in my opinion is better than this one. 7/10 Thank you for posting

Tj Samson on the pirate ship scene. I found out that they couldn't get it to work during rehearsal so they are still fixing it.
Its not so much that its less pyro during the finale. its the way its used that makes it seem so. The old finale had pyro at every DA (and I hope this makes sense and don't sound ridiculous) "dada da DA DA, dada da DA DA" and with the new version its all at the first "DA" if it makes sense. They were more staggered which I personally like better. What I really would have enjoyed is new pyro. Not reuse the same one differently. Maybe a more colorful variation of colors rather than red, orange, and green. And also a huge white firework flash like the one at Disney World. I still really love this version of Fantasmic though. Those projections literally blow the show out of the water.
Don't get me wrong, this is a nice show. I got so excited once I heard and saw the PoTC section, but I think it was a bit... sloppy? Yeah, I think that's the word. The PoTC line of movies is my favorite line of movies produced by Disney. I was expecting something a bit smoother. Anyways... I wish they could've kept the Peter Pan segment. I always loved seeing that part as a little kid, and even as a tween.
With a few tweaks, this show could be better than the already is. The projections and gorgeous and I love what they did with Mickey defeating Maleficent!

Seeing this makes me wish they'd at least renovate and redo some parts of Hollywood Studios' Fantasmic. Key notes:
* While the more stylized dragon is cool, this more accurate and flexible dragon handily defeats the Hollywood Studios dragon.
* Giving Chernabog some more flame effects during his segment.
* I See the Light was a great addition.
I've always wanted like a giant Chernabog animatronic too.
The Pirates segment was pretty lame though.

Love Fantasmic but the newly added Magic Carpet scene was short and too rushed!
William Thomas The reason why I think that it's short is because it is a part of the Princess segment and not its own.
This is fantastic. Loved the "updated" version but I still love the older version so much better. One thing I'd change is get rid of "Tangled" and replace with the original version and the ending should be like the old version.
The previous show explained that Mickey was having a dream. This show not so much. They just blend one story into another with no explanation.

I'm just glad it wasn't Frozen. I know that that part is supposed to be about couples, but I'm surprised Disney didn't try to shoe horn them in. Them adding Tangled is a better option, give the younger Disney audience a character that is a classic to them. Maybe bring back Snow White, the original, and swap out either B&tB or LM.

+Kyra Hogue I'm starting to not like rapunzel just like you don't like frozen, because frozen at least had a world-proved fame, but tangled lately is like EVERYWERE in disney's shows -__-U and I liked the movie, but when disney replace a truly classic for this, THEN makes me wonder if now they don't try to shove that movie into our throats. Rapulzel (neither frozen) belong to that spot yet :/

Just when you think Fantasmic couldn't get any better....I mean, it had its issues. The transitions between the segments could sound a little smoother, but I'm sure they're still working out the kinks. But the new stuff had me bawling like a baby....just beautiful, especially Aladdin and Tangled. It just reaffirms my testament that Fantasmic is and always will be the greatest live show on the planet. 🙂

Katrina Felix Disneyland had the "Original" show, Disney World has some parts from "Original" show but they are replaced by other segments like Lion King instead of Jungle book, Bubbles of Disney animated movies instead of Dumbo and Pinocchio, Pocahontas Live scene instead of Peter Pan fight scene, and much more different villains. Disney World is much more further in technology than Disneyland that saying this show feels like a Disney World show. It's nice to see them update the show, but for me growing up, the Original Show will always be the best 😁👍🏼
Hi Inside the Magic, I Loved the New Updated Version of "Fantasmic", It was very very Awesome and Beautiful, I want to see it Again when I go back to Disneyland Resort Again, But there were some Few parts that got Me off a Little. 🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍.

Peter Pan added to the magic and fit so perfectly. Pirates needs to be cleaned up if it's going to stay, it just wasn't magical enough for me.

I couldn't even tell what was happening in the pirates sequence. Who was that woman? Why was she bouncing in some parts and then seemed to be flying in others? Why is the compass glowing? What are they even fighting?
So many questions.

Like everyone else I'm not happy with the pirates scene and I haven't seen anyone else mention it, but I REALLY miss the crocodile following the ship. And captain hook swinging at the end trying to get away from him. And it's not just characters, there's hardly even any stunts on this version except for the actors walking a "tightrope" while using the rope above it and the one pirate still swings over the water.

Disney magic is the best!
The soundtrack is very choppy... maybe it's because I'm so used to the original. The show is a mixture of World of Color and Tokyo Disney Fantasmic. Nice attempt Disney. 7.5/10 personally.

I see to many people blinded by their nostalgic googles, overall, the entire Fantasmic show is a huge improvement.
the buildup in the beggining of the show is far superior (I love the idea of how mickey appears first, and instead he rises whit the light towers)
the new mapping projection is amazing, new animated sequences add a lot to it.
The Aladdin sequence was a welcoming addition to me
and the pirates of the Caribean sequence (although might need more rehearsals) has more stunts and lighting effects
Also, i see more movements and better firebreathing effects on the maleficent giant dragon (The dragon now even moves her head towards mickey while he comfronts her)
It's a missed opportunity that they didn't have Mickey talking and whinking, but this update is FANTASTIC!
I really enjoyed this, but I did enjoy the old Fantasmic better. The effects here are undoubtedly better, but I like the singing and scenes better in the old version.
I was excited for the pirates scene, but it just doesn't work. All they're doing is swinging around, no sword fighting, just talking and walking around, which is a huge let down. Some of the scenes are great, while other's don't fit, like the lion king, why keep king louie or kaa if it's the lion king? It also felt rushed at parts, or they just didn't fit, but the worst part is the confrontation between Maleficent and Mickey, why remove Mickey defeating her with a sword? That was a great way to conquer his nightmares, but now it just felt to underwhelming.
I agree the pacing is all over the place and the new parts they added don't feel very cohesive. Thing that was really cool about the original fantasmic is that it had some cool story moments that just don't happen as well in this version(IMO). It feels like they just shoved as many of the new disney properties in as they could and thats fine its just the show feels a little cramped now and they cut a lot the moment when the show slow down for a few seconds and think that really hurt the pacing. I think if the made the show a little bit longer say 30-35mins they could have kept more of those moments and added some new ones with out the show feeling so rushed.
*I grew up watching Fantasmic and it's been a favorite of mine since I can remember. I'm totally OK with change but this didn't have the magic that the original had. The original Fantasmic was methodically thought out and everything flowed so nicely.*
*It seems like Disney wanted to cram as much as they could without it even being relevant to the story we all knew. I'm surprised they didn't add Star Wars just because they want to capitalize on it even more.*
*Also a lot of the live action performances felt very bland, I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that it's NEW and they need to iron out the bugs. Maybe once I see it in person my opinion may change a bit but so far It's not as good as the original.*

This is way better than the time I last saw it. Light and projections really have improved! Although, some of the clips (Aladdin, ect) felt really out of place.
I don't know why I get so emotional watching this. lol
Overall I really enjoyed this updated version of Fantasmic. There are definitely parts I feel that should have been left alone from the original, or changes made that could have been implemented into the update better. I'm sure everyone will have their own list of what was better or what wasn't. I've seen Fantasmic many times in the past and more recently when I go to the park, I use that time to try and get on more rides. I'm really glad to have this to look forward to when I go again next year!

I thought the new version would include more villains like they did with the Walt Disney World version, but that's okay, it is what it is.
Don't like the transitions, they're choppy. The upgraded and new tech is obviously amazing, but everything else seems to be a miss for me. There's no build up to anything, things just sort of happen.
Miss the original but loved this one too!

The best part of the old show, IMHO, is the Princess Unit when Snow White gets lifted to,"someday my prince will come". I sobbed like a baby each time I saw that moment. Pretty sad they replaced Snow White for Tangled. 😞

Opening gave me chills. Maleficent's dragon form looked stunning. Not a fan of the pirates part either. While the ship is always cool to see, the character they gave the woman came off as shrill brat rather than the strong women in the films. I will always dislike Kaa because I hate the floodlights.
Is it me or did the steamboat not feel lit up like it used to be.
Overall the show has really improved! Love the clarity in projections and additional lights, fountains, fireworks, etc. Tangled fits in perfectly, the new jungle scene is fun and Aladdin, although a bit jarring, is a nice addition. The pirates segment felt a bit clunky and long - who is the woman supposed to be? A generic character or one from the films? Either way, I'm sure they'll tweak parts of the show over the coming months. Excited to see it when I'm next in the park :)

Why don't they put the projector somewhere else it is very distracting (Edit:) It's just annoying to see a bright light in the middle of it
i dont like that, who ever the arranger of the music is, that he changed the french horn part. Of coarse he kept the trumpet meoldy, but behind the trumpet melody is the french horn part, and the way he modified it, or arranegd it doesnt fit. So when your used to the old soundtrack, this one sounds wrrong, and weird. Im cool with the new projections and finale. I feel they should of used more blinders at the ver end ( the bright green and white fireworks that blind one, and you can see the shaddow of them when ever you blink your eyes for the next 10 minutes after the show). Cuz that was cool in the orignal but they took those pyros out.... I dont like the pirates scene. The ship looks really fricken cool and i think they did a good job at that, but the script, and show of it, is off, and no ones really knows who that girl is, or why its happening, and whats going on. I miss the huge gun fire entrance to the ship too. They got lazy with the soundtrack on this part and halfway through the soudntrack literally looped 2 and a half times.....i like how they added 2 rows per pole of lights on the stage. AND LOVE THE PROJECTION MAPPING. They should of not changed the soundefects in the begging. Also I understand they changed mickeys look, but i dont like that they changed his voice, and added weird little " woah's"! and "AH". Its cool that they show him in different scenes like the genie part and lion king part, but its not necesary and its not fitting, kinda. Im okay with the fantasia broom theme music here and there. I dont like the jungle scene anymore, i used to love it, and now its not as POWERFUL, the money suites are werid and futuristic..... and in the beggining junlge part iwth the flower, the new singing voice is weird ,and i doesnt seem magical, it seems like... weird.I do kind of like how they put in the original music form pink elaphants on parade, but i miss the old rock n roll arrangemnet. I dont like how the alladin and Jasmine on the carpet interferes iwth the other pricnesses..... Thjey are showing it off too much. I guess it makes sence but i dont hink they shold of changed the magic mirror i nthe walls voice and animation. Well there is alot of stuff that is cool ,im not hating the show, well kinda, i still love fantasmic, and what it is ,and will always love the original. I wish they didnt chagne it, but i will get used to this one, and start too love it eventually. Usually when disney does changed everyone gets mad and angry and all protestey, then what ever they changed becomes fricken amazing and something everyone LOVES and disney did an outstanding job with that on guardians of the galaxy, and proably will do the same with marvle land, and star wars land. But this was the complete opisite. Disney said they were ding some changed to fantasmic, and everyoen got hyped up and stoked, but it turned out to be disapointing, and just weird. Oh well, guess im stuck with it, im sure i love it eventualy. Still love fantasmic.............................................................................................
This is a great new version of "Fantasmic", and speaking of Disney Villains, they should have added Doctor Facilier, Hades, Jafar, and Scar after "Poor Unfortunate Souls" scene.
I have been in love with this show since I was born and have known it backwards and forwards ever since then. I actually really like this new show. The story is more clear and they clearly took notes from fans and made every moment exciting and quick. The pacing was just great. Although its sad to see fan favorites go (peter pan will really be missed) disney fans have to accept things are gonna change for new audiences and you must see them for what they are. Down sides are that the pirates part was a cool addition but rn its a bit sloppy and confusing, might change over time. the music themes and motifs are a little out there sometimes. up sides are that the princess part is extremely well done, tangled was a good addition and the medley is beautiful. Cant wait to see this in person.
Some parts of the track sound rushed, like the ursula part? kinda chopped.... but other that that looks great can't wait to have the new soundtrack

I really didnt like some parts of the show the first time i watched it like the female singer and 1 transition but now that i see it again, wow this show is freaking amazing! This has got to be one of the best shows disney has remade. This show is fantastic and the way they changed the elephants and the lion king segment and the way they introduced tangled was amazing. The pirates of the Caribbean and all the other things they added are amazing. Fantastic (or fantasmic) show by Disney!
Not a fan of the new show at all. There is no flow, its loud and repetitive to World of Color. The new singing is not the best either.
I will say the visuals are much improved. Both the water screens and projection mapping on TSI.

This new Fantasmic sucks so bad, especially the pirate ship part. Bring back the old Fantasmic that we love.
Some of the upgrades were nice, but I'm not a fan of some of the changes.
and what's with all the mops on the ship. Oh I dropped my compass again....
The music wasn't as good in the new show either.
I kinda wish they didn't make the Pirates bit a whole spectacle of its own. I wanted to see a mix of Pirates and Peter Pan similar to what they did with Lion King and Jungle Book.
Side note to the woman singling Part of Your World: Whitney Houston, you're not.
Overall, this update was okay. Things I didn't like were Tangled, The Princess Vocals, PoTC, Aladdin, The Absence of the transformation of the queen,the pink elephants new music, and the magic mirror dialogue. I did like the intro though, nice additions there.
They couldn't added more villains in the villain sequence, like they did in the Florida one? It would have been cool if the Disneyland one had like Jafar, or scar, dr. Facilier or even Captain Hook since they got rid of the Peter Pan part.

Great show but you ruined it with the ads in the middle.
I'll definitely miss the original, being that I practically only saw it once. . . I don't see why it needed to be perfected when it already was perfect, but I hope this can be just as great as the other one, if not better.

The original Fantasmic! was a treasure that stood the test of time.
My observations are: They should have just stuck with plussing the projectors, mist screens and special effects, which was a noticeable improvement. Adding Mickey at certain points during the show, especially going into the nightmare portion, was good and actually added to the story.
HOWEVER, The added character pieces sucked. WHY RECYCLE WOC SCENES INTO FANTASMIC. And worst move of all, Pirates replacing Peter Pan....HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! BRING BACK PAN!!! New vocals in the princesses suite are pretty jarring and not romantically sweet like in the original. Musically, the styles no longer mesh as before.
Very glad they didn't mess up the original ending, which was always powerful. So, on the technical level, a good update. Sadly, on an artistic level, it's now pretty crappy and much of it does not flow as well as before. Did Steve not have his hand in this re-do?

I don't know how I feel about this new show. I never saw the old one at the park all the way through because my little brother got scared when the villains came out, but I did see some of it on youtube. I think the show is a lot faster then the old one.
1. Didn't like that they took out Peter Pan, that was one of my favorite sequences.
2. They completely removed Pinocchio and the monkey snake part wasn't as awesome, since they added Lion King.
3. The Tangled bit was great. However I miss the cauldron scene that follows.
4. The soundtrack and music needs to be smoother and connect more easily. Everything felt rushed and crammed.
5. The fountains were better, but come on. Leave the lasers and stuff to World of Color.
6. The old voice for Fantasmic and the singing will definitely be missed.
7. Mickey's extra dialogue seems unnecessary and the Pirate segment isn't the greatest.
8. The ending was still great, the villain part was fantastic. But I just dislike how they took out so much, changed so much. I honestly like the older version better.

i have to admit that seeing captain barbosa's face get projected instead of hearing a cannon boom followed by captain hook giving an irritated "blast that peter pan!" really bugged me
The scenes that work the least now,which I always thought were amazing are the princess and pirates scenes.They don't really flow anymore and with Rapunzel replacing Snow the change into the Evil Queen is a lot less smooth. A lot of the show looks amazing as like a still picture but way too much is happening alot of the show that it really is distracting. Why does Mickey have so many new ooh and ahhhs? Like what? Parts look great especially the opening and I like how quick Mickey appears and disappears in the finale.
I know most are going to hate this because it isn't the old one, BUT everyone who is complaining has to remember Disney is trying to stay current with their attractions. Sorry Adult Disney Fans,but YOU are not their target audience, Families with young children are. With that said, They still have some of the old in the show still. Just be thankful they didn't change the whole show.

Disney two weeks later: let's put a damsel in distress on the ship and have her crying for jack to save her the whole time while pirates rip her dress off.
I kinda like this. It's kinda like the Disneyland version mixed with the Tokyo Disney Sea version.
