    Each mode has 4 speeds associated with it: max, 100hz, 500hz start and 500hz. You can find out the mode you're in by looking at the PZB indicator lights. The corresponding 1000hz speed light will light up. So, if the 85 light is on that means you're in mode O (passenger). If the 70 light is on then it's mode M (fast breaking freight) and when 55 is on that means you're in mode U (slow breaking freight).
    Mode is set once *before* you turn on PZB and doesn't change by itself. However, if you want to change modes it's possibly to switch PZB off, change mode and then turn it on again. Or change mode and turn PZB on and off, that will work as well. It's also probably a good idea to not use SIFA when you're learning PZB for the first time.

    Of it is flashing 70 85 it means you are in monatring that means you cannot exceed 45 kmh, but it's best to stay around 40 kmh to allow for leway, if there is not a Magnet in sight you can clear pzb with the pg down key on the keyboard, how use Q for sifa acknowledging and del for pzb acknowledging

    Hope I am not commenting too much but I want to help you see what went wrong in certain parts of your trip. At 17:59, right after passing the station, you encounter a green main signal (top green) with a green and yellow (bottom diagonal signal) telling you that the next signal could be red. This will trigger your PZB and require an acknowledgment within 4 seconds, which you do. Note that the 1000 Hz lamp lights up as you pass the signal. The problem here is that you do not slow down fast enough to below 85 kph and the PZB system detects this and forcibly stops you. There is a built-in braking curve that you must stay under to avoid this. So if you would have slowed down faster to get under 85 kph you would have been fine. You just coasted instead of braking so that by 18:24 you are still at 94 kph and you should be under 85.

    • @MegaSim
      @MegaSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhhhh gotcha! So it’s not the speed limit I’m looking at on the dial, but even the 85 icon means I need to be maximum of 85, not the dial speed

  • @frankhartmann3824
    @frankhartmann3824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 19:14, you exceeded the restrictive speed again. If you have a green signal ahead, which you did, release from PZB control and then and only then can you exceed 45 kph.

    • @MegaSim

      Just been reading up on it. So many signals and being on the look out on screen. Some you tubers can remove the HUD and use the speedometer on the dash. Some trains it’s too small and I can’t see it. Or I can’t remember the speed changes on say GWE so need the HUDs for that info

    • @MegaSim
      @MegaSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea something about going upto a certain speed within a timeframe. Get to that speed too quickly, the emergency brakes are activated

    • @jamesstevenson9340
      @jamesstevenson9340 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah your restricted to 45km/h and then you acknowledge it if you are operating a passenger train I believe the top speed you can go is 140km/h if you go on the manual it kind of goes into detail on how pzb works and what to do also whenever you pass a seed limit below 10km/h you must click acknowledge and slow down to below 85km/h or the respected speed limit or whenever you pass a yellow signal

    You're only ever going to be on mode O for passenger services in this train. It doesn't change. You only change it on a switch yourself. The other modes are for freight services. Those will be slower speeds than O.

    • @MegaSim
      @MegaSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @frankhartmann3824
    @frankhartmann3824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 20:08, you are out of restrictive monitoring (i.e. no 70/85 flashing) but you are just about to pass a signal with a restrictive speed ahead (green/yellow on top, yellow diagonal on the bottom). This will trigger the PZB when you pass it and you have 4 seconds to acknowledge it, which you didn't do, so PZB stopped you.

    • @MegaSim
      @MegaSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the PZB light up or something or that I have to acknowledge it? I noticed the SIFA light on the dash (not HUD) is very faint in the colour change, as you need to acknowledge it within 2.5 seconds before it sounds

    • @frankhartmann3824
      @frankhartmann3824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MegaSim No, unfortunately, there is no light that activates when you pass a speed reduction sign (typically an orange triangle on the right side of the track) or a main signal with an upcoming restrictive speed (the yellow diagonal lights). You just have to get used to looking for them and knowing you have 4 seconds to react. It will be interesting to see if TSW2's new HUD will include something for that to make PZB easier for newer players.

      We won’t know what they’re working on till the roadmap is released. Also not sure when the next route/train will come out, 1 month, 3 months. Just can’t be sure. You do what you feel is best. I like east coastway, it’s a good route. But if you’re worried wait until the next sale?

  • @frankhartmann3824
    @frankhartmann3824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, the reason that you were eventually able to get the train going after your initial failure was that you released yourself from the flashing 70/85 PZB monitoring at 4:13 . Otherwise, you would have been stopped again at 45 km/h like before. Again, it is not about how fast you accelerate, it is about staying within an allowed speed range given the signaling aspect that you are under.

    • @MegaSim
      @MegaSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks looking forward to TSW2. Work is starting to get busier, so gonna need to ensure I have some extra time for videos. PZB is never really about getting UP to a certain speed within a certain amount of time. I was surprised to hear you phrase it this way. All of the PZB restrictions are about getting DOWN to a restricted speed within a certain time or a certain distance because of a signal change or speed restriction. Watch PTGRail's German signaling guide here for a good high-level introduction that includes PZB amongst other signaling info: th-cam.com/video/NR3G_WkIwaA/w-d-xo.html. Also, the TrainGuy has some specific PZB videos here: th-cam.com/video/zx4ag-RxTrw/w-d-xo.html and also th-cam.com/video/8ZRhUr1krv4/w-d-xo.html.
