- It’s time to hit the main line with the thundering diesel power across the rails of Germany! Developed by TSG, harness the full power of the Diesel Hydraulic powered DB BR 218.
The current German rail network is defined largely by long, high-speed electrified lines, hosting a range of powerful electric locomotives. But that wasn’t always the case! A fleet of powerful, noisy diesel-hydraulic locomotives once roamed the tracks, with the DB BR 218 taking up both passenger and freight duties on both main and branch lines.

Pretty sure you wouldn't hear the turbo's at idle.
The train heating was on which changes the revs of the engine
@@potatoman451 if that was the case its on by default it seems. I will take a look on my next drive at this!

I have a few questions please
overall quality of db br 218 - on a scale from 1 to 10 and why
layers and timetables
is this train express or commuter / can this train be used for freight
Are the physics good
Is it realistic with sounds, textures, and model
1. Overall Quality, The modelling is very nice on the 218. Plenty of detail and nice texturing. Audio seems great to me other than the pony sounding horn. We can pray for audio mods however maybe in time.
2. This train can be used on a mix of express, local commuter and freight.
3. Physics wise it drives really nicely. Didnt feel janky in anyway, braking felt great and power output seemed fine.
4. Are the sounds realistic, they are claimed to be 100% authentic and provided from a real driver according to the DTG article. Texture wise i do not doubt that along with the model they seem accurate to me.

Would you say this is worth full price or wait for a sale?
Personally i think it depends on how much you enjoy driving German content and whether you will drive it. For me its something that i have wanted for some time so it will be very useful and used.
I just watched your video and the horn on this loco is very poor here is a link to my 1:160 model sound version by Fleischmann of this loco th-cam.com/video/wa0b-ZaKDjE/w-d-xo.html this has the true sound flies on board my model.
Look wise it a pretty good resemblance however imo they have more work to do on this model. It comes in various colours too from the DB red version you have to beige/blue purple/black was the original colour and there was also a Tee version. There are also many private versions from the likes of Press in blue/black and many, many more! obviously far to many name the others here.
Dude you speak German too, impressive, I love the horns on your loco makes this game version sound very poor indeed thanks for sharing your channel subbed.
Thankfully creators club has many liveries now available. The horn really needs work however yes.
Sounds are just horrific, nothing like the real things in the way it loads up too
I think in a previous article it was stated the sounds were placeholders unless this is the final version
Sounds are from a real 218 and maik did what he could to make it as his as possible. Also your comment is not constructive. What's terrible about it. If you are that unhappy, you can make your own 218 at the end of the day
Big let down, no black stuff on departure. I won't be buying it.
Might not be thick plumes of clag but there is certainly some exhaust smoke which is notable.
That would be an FPS killer for most PC's.
So basically one thing is missing and it automatically makes the whole thing terrible.
@@MorlockTheLegend certainly would. If you look at some of the older BR stock the Clag tanks the fps when directly looking at it.
