I hate walking into sephora without a beat face because a member will start lecturing you about applying a product. Like lol Becky i can see your unblended contour.

my nearest sephora is in a boujee area and like the lady matching my foundation set out the brushes she was going to use and washed them in front of me and then like did half my face with foundation and contour and stuff then let me do the other half to make sure i knew how to use it and she was great and gave me free samples of all the products she used + she was super kind and asked if i had any allergies to certain products or if i had eczema 10/10 best customer service ever

Samantha Butler not if you're a poc she won't. But if she's an actual nice professional employee then she probably would give "most" customers 10/10 service. Just keeping it one hundred, she sounds sweet though.

    Working at McDonalds:
    1. Ice cream machine isn't broken, they cleaned it for the next day and don't want to use it until the morning.
    2. They put fresh fries over old fries and mix them around so you won't notice that some are cold
    3. When you ask for "no salt" the whole crew hates you
    4. We get 50% off food
    5. The food has to be sold after a certain time that it is cooked, but it is usually kept on a few hours longer
    6. When you ask to speak to the manager, the team member never gets in trouble
    7. Working at Mcdonalds is a joke

At my McDonald’s the machine is “broken” cause it hasn’t been cleaned and once the machine hasn’t been cleaned after a week it shuts itself down until it’s cleaned.

I was shopping at my local Sephora a couple weeks ago without any makeup on, and a few feet away from me, I heard an employee talk into her headset saying "I like how no one wants to help this chick in the Too Faced section, she looks like she's never used makeup in her life hahaha!" And keep in mind, I was the only person in the Too Faced section during the time so I knew she was talking about me. I was really annoyed by her comment, but then, I'm guessing it was her manager, came out on the floor and asked to have a talk with her. I quietly went to the register to pay and when the cashier realized I was VIB, she started being so dramatically nice to me when just a couple minutes before I went to pay, she laughed at that employee's comment lol. And then the best part was when as soon as I started leaving the store, the employee who made the initial comment about me stormed out of the back room in tears. It was my most interesting Sephora visit to say the least lmao
Also sorry for writing a novel, I just found it to be an experience worth sharing lol

    Panera
    1. Our food really is clean
    2. The bagel slicer is evil
    3. The soup comes prepackaged, but everything else is hand prepared
    4. The bottled green tea is not the same as the fountain green tea (fountain is wayyyy better & you get free refills)
    5. You should always be asked if you want your bagel sliced and toasted
    6. All the bread is bagged up and sent away to homeless shelters or churches at the end of the day, but sometimes we put it in trash bags instead of the small bread bags because they can fit more

For years every time I shopped at sephora I would get followed and watched by all of the employees. I am the store manager at Aldo and would never steal anything but the workers at my local sephora seem to think otherwise. One day I was really fed up with it and after I made my purchase I went online and took the survey about my experience. Of corse, I gave them a terrible review because I am ALWAYS getting treated like this. In the survey I mentioned that I was a store manager and I get that you have to watch people to prevent stealing, but when EVERY worker is CONSTANTLY whispering in their radio and staring at you when you're in the store, it's unacceptable. The manager of sephora went around the whole mall and offered free full make overs to all of the store managers in hopes that whoever filled out the survey would come in and have a better experience. I refuse to shop there and make all of my purchases online now!! I can't stand being treated like that when I literally have never stolen anything

Girl. I feel you. In the summertime when my tattoos are showing I get followed like crazy! I'll have five employees ask if I need help in one trip. When I go now I cover my tattoos and bring small purses so they don't think I'm stealing.

I worked at Wendy's for about 6 months and here's what I've learned:
    1. Jr. Frosty and small Frosty are the same price but the small is nearly double in size.
    2. Ask for the strawberry syrup from the lemonade on your frosty. Just like a sundae.
    3. Yes, everything really is fresh and not frozen and yes we make pretty much everything to order, especially after 9 pm.
    4. Don't be scared to ask for fresh fries, they literally take less than 3 minutes to make. Just pull up so you don't drive up our timer and asking for no salt actually just makes you look like a jackass.
    5. Anything and everything can be custom made, including how you want your combo. You can get a salad, potato, or chili instead of fries, a frosty instead of a drink, and even customize exactly what you want on a salad. (Try a power Mediterranean with spicy chicken and Cesar dressing)

    • @kat118

I worked at Chick-fil-A for a couple years!
    1. You can trade the kid's toy for an ice cream cone or cup.
    2. If you ask for fries without salt they have to make the fries fresh.
    3. Yes, we are forced to say "my pleasure".
    4. You can buy an 8 oz tub of Chick-fil-A sauce for $2. PLEASE do not ask for 10 Chick-fil-A sauces for your 4 count nugget.
    5. The sweet tea and lemonade have an insane amount of sugar. Please do not get a refill, you will have a heart attack 😂
    6. But, you have buy a gallon of sweet tea, unsweetened tea, lemonade, or diet lemonade. You can also buy a bag of ice.
    7. You can ask for anything "well done" and it will be crispier and more fresh.
    8. You can order a grilled cheese for under a dollar buy asking for a bun with American cheese.
    9. You can add bacon to any sandwich for a dollar.
    10. You can add chocolate to any shake for $0.30. Cookies and cream with chocolate is THE BEST.
    11. We have to fill our ice to a certain level in the cup, so ask for light ice or no ice for more liquid.
    12. You can get any sandwich wrapped in lettuce.
    Eat more chikn!

a list of the secrets so y'all can get the tea on the go 🍵☕️
    1. every employee has a headset so they can communicate with each other and let ppl know someone needs help BUT the headsets were oftentimes abused and ppl just used the headset to make fun of customers, notably higher-ups
    2. if an employee says they're out of stock of an item, most likely they just have the item on hold so they can buy it. sometimes employees hide product and you'd never even know they actually had the product in stock
    3. the muas or gals who do the makeovers don't wash their brushes between clients
    4. you can get samples of anything, 3 samples a day
    5. most muas or gals who do the makeovers aren't professionally trained, they're self-taught, and it isn't required @ sephora to have that technical training. you just have to be over 18 w/ a beat face
    6. all sephora employees get "gratis"- a bag of free full-sized makeup- almost every month. the products are usually items the employees should promote or be familiar with
    7. there are contests held, on a monthly-ish basis, where employees will sell certain items to win prizes. this is usually why employees will push items heavily even if you're not asking for help/an item that's related to the pushed product
    8. if you've been disappointed with service you received at a sephora, you can ask for a CLI- a card to put the store number, employees name- and there'll be a website you can input the feedback into. likewise, if you received great service, you can get a CLI and input the good feedback
    9. the employees always have samples and should be putting them into the bag, you aren't supposed to have to ask.
    10. if you're a VIB member, you get a free makeover when you bring in the makeover card! the expiry date on those cards is bogus- even if it's expired, they won't deny you service
    take a fuckin sip babes

My sephora does none of this stuff either. There have been times I've put things on hold but a client wanted it so I went to the hold, took my OWN ITEM OFF and gave it to them. And our brushes are sanitized, cleaned, soaked in alcohol EVERY night before we apply makeup on a client. When a makeover is performed the brushes are CLEAN and removed from a box at beauty studio. They are CLEAN and not used on more than one client ever. Once ANY brush is used ONCE on a client it goes in the dirty brush bin, it's taken into the back, washed, sanitized, and soaked in alcohol. The people performing MINI makeovers are not professionally trained. The artists who do CUSTOM MAKEOVERS are professionally trained. And we receive gratis after TRAINING. When you sit through training the brand will give you a product to try out. CLI cards do exist though. We always hand them out though. We don't hold back on them.
Honestly i don't know why your Sephora was not following protocol or proper rules but 99.9% of them are NOT run like this.

I went to Sephora once and didn't feel welcome there, i went after gym to get a cc cream and I didn't had any makeup on or anything, I still looked decent but the girl was following me, like I was going to steal something. Believe I have NO need to do that. I gave her the makeup I got and told her I changed my mind, went to Ulta and Wow what a difference. Maybe is the people like you say, I don't know but the ulta in my area is amazing, the girls are so lovely there.

One day i went to a sephora (in france) and i have some pimples because of acne. I was just walking in the sephora, looking for some makeup and a seller came to me and asked me "do you need anything?" I kindly replied that no thanks and she said "you really need a foundation for you skin". It made me angry because i said that i didn't want her help so she just got to go then. I thought that it was really rude because she was saying that i didn't have a beautiful skin as if i didnt know it already... i feel insecure about it so why did she say that ?! Otherwise i dont think that putting 12kg of foundation on my skin could help me, but i prefer living with some pimples instead of having 8193 cadavers of pimples under 100 of layers of foundation. I felt really oppressed by her.

    i work at walmart lol.
    1. if it's not on the floor don't ask us to check the back, most associates don't even know where to look.
    2. we can usually tell if you walked out or plan to steal something.
    3. they check the date, time and store number on your receipt. some associates actually check if you payed for certain items.
    4. if you saw a different price while shopping than when it was rung up we should honor it. if it's more than half of the price they probably won't though.
    5. it is not our fault there's no cashiers. corporate has a set amount of hours the store can use , which only includes about 12 cashiers a day and they're all part time.
    6. go in the mornings ! less people, short lines.
7.dont expect associates to know where everything is. unless its our department, we will only be able to guide you where in the store it might be.
    8. if you find something without a tag have a . price ready to tell the cashier. if it sounds reasonable you'll get it for that price without conducting a price check .

Some tea on Hollister (if anyone still goes there that's not 13 LOL)
    1. All of your clothes that you buy have been thrown on the ground, stepped on, and left in the back to get dusty and gross. PLEASE WASH THEM BEFORE WEARING.
    2. They DO talk about you in the back, and even about other employees.
    3. When I worked there, you had to go around and try and press outfits on people and sell them in order to meet your stores "weekly goal."
    4. We rarely get AAA's (discount clothes) and if we do, they're minimal in what you can get or you don't find out until they're practically expired. 🙂
    5. If you wear your hood up in the store, baggy clothes, or just don't look like you're upper middle class, the employees will watch you on ad off with one another to make sure you're not stealing. You're profiled and made fun of the moment you walk in.
    6. Almost all of the time we have your size in stock but no one wants to climb the shelves to get it.

    1. We have punch cards that after 8 medium drinks you can get the next medium drink free but we do it for any size cause we don't care. A drink's a drink.
    2. For our survey things on the receipt, you can literally put any number to get a free donut, it also says with purchase but we usually don't care. We don't check the numbers.
    3. We're supposed to rebrew the coffee every 18 minutes and the dark roast every hour but night shift (at the locations I've been at) brew it whenever we think about it, really. Dark roast once a night shift unless someone asks for it then we usually rebrew it (it's not popular at the location I work at)
    4. Don't ask for sandwiches after like 6 o clock because we WILL hate you. Sandwiches take a lot to clean up after-- we're a donut and coffee shop not a sandwich shop. And don't act surprised when your 3 classic sausage egg and cheese sandwhiches and 2 small coffee's costed $22 because again we don't specialize in sandwhiches, they're gonna be expensive
    5. You can ask for stuff like frozen coffee with less coffee syrup so it's less bitter. And for those who don't know: smalls get 2 of everything you ask for unless otherwise specified (2 sugars, 2 creamers, 2 pumps of flavor), medium gets 3, and large gets 4. So you don't have to say every time you want a medium with 3 creams and 3 sugars. That's the default.
    6. Yes- acne exists and so do acne scars. Anyone who comes to my store or anywhere really- don't comment on people's skin. I've had it does several times to me and it's aggravating. We don't have the same skin or genetics. You don't know how my skin used to be. I had a lady come through the drive through and say "I had skin like yours, they always said it'd heal but IT TOOK YEEEAAARSSS!!!!" ....that doesn't make me feel any better, thx. I don't need your stories. Just keep your mouth shut. If I wanted your opinion I'd ask for it

Sometimes if I know I'm going to Sephora, I'll purposely put on total glam, going-out makeup even if I'm just going to be at home all day for the sole reason of not getting judged by the employees. I swear like there is such a difference in customer service if you come in with little to no makeup vs. when you come in with a beat face. Whenever I come in with no makeup I immediately get looks from some employees like "what are you doing here?" That's why I prefer going to Ulta a lot of the times if I know that the product I want is sold there.

And laughed at me. but I found it so rude.. I brushed it off but just because I wasn't wearing any makeup you have to comment that I look "tired"

But however I have not had the same experiences in Mac, and I'm sure a lot of people can agree with that, Mac is infamous for bad customer service. I mean there's so many TH-cam videos of people talking about their bad experiences that Mac.

Lol I went in to Sephora today, bare faced mind you. I swear every employee came up to me, they were all sweet don't get me wrong! But like, can you let me shop?! THEN when I was in line at the cash desk, an employee comes up to me "I feel so bad for you that you're just standing here with a bare face, did you want a free mini facial ?!" I have a bad breakout right now so I was letting my skin breathe and I just got off a long shift, it really caught me off guard and I honestly felt hurt!? Yes, she was trying to help, I get that, but I felt judged so hard by the employees 😔

    I work at chik-fil-a and
    1. The workers have to wipe down all the trays and tables so please don't pout your ketchup all over the tray.
    2. We have to say "my pleasure" when someone says "thank you"
    3. We get a free meal after work (if you work like 4 hours) but you have to eat it there. If you work for a lot longer then you still get a free meal and a break
    4. We get free drinks but we have to bring our own cup
    5. You can buy an 8 oz. container of chik-fil-a sauce
    6. We have to charge you for sauces if you get a ridiculous amount (atleast at mine we do, a lady tried to get 20 and we had to charge her)
    7. The food actually is fresh so doing the "no salt on the fries" things doesn't really work since the kitchen actually constantly is making fresh fries and serves them right after they're made
    8. Some employees talk About rude or difficult customers

The sad thing is that most of the classes we have in schools don't actually teach us anything that will help us in real life. So many teachers are putting in all that work with little pay for practically nothing. The majority of people I know, including myself, don't remember hardly anything we learned back in middle school and high school. We all tend to remember experiences we had instead of the things we were taught in classes. Maybe if teachers were allowed to teach us things that would actually benefit us outside of the classroom, their jobs might be more worthwhile and might make much more of a difference in their students' lives.

I work there now and this is somewhat true haha, they have the ability to give greater discounts and what not but it depends on you, they take in to account your life time value with the company, which is how we measure each customer (your credit, how many times your account has went delinquent, how many credits we've already given you,how many times you were late making a pay, net, and how long you've actually been with us) don't be fooled though! A lot of times they'll offer you something to hear you say you'll stick with the company and then once you're off the phone, they won't notate the account or anything which results in you not getting what was promised.

Sally's Beauty Supply doesn't want you to know that when you use their Sally's Beauty Supply card you're not saving on anything in that story. What you are saving is that store numbers, because if their store numbers are bad or very low they will lose that store. They also don't want you to know that if you agree to get a card the don't and won't tell you some times that $5 will be added to your total to pay for the card. The most important thing about that store is YOU DONT SAVE ON PRODUCTS IN THAT STORE!! You only save that store numbers. That's why they are pushy about it, because some of those stores will write up their employees for not having high numbers on those cards. That's also why when you look at your receipt you might be trying to figure out how and what did you save. YOU'VE SAVED THAT STORE NUMBERS. Now that's some tea💯💯😘😳

Thank you! Also when I worked at Dillard's (in Aiken, SC) the manager would hide clothing for months and sometimes years at a time so she would hide a 1000$ coat and wait for it to be on sale for like 2.50$ and then buy it. Lemme spill some tea on Old Navy....
    1)They don't care about you..at all
2)If you're looking for something, and it's not in the store you're at, they can look it up for you in the computer....buuutt, they system is so old, they just make it up sometimes and tell you that the items you want are at another location. When really, they don't know.
3)Credit cards are pushed on employees to sale. Old Navy employees lie to you, and tell you that the credit card is just a savings reward card. People get suspicious because old navy needs your SSN. The employees will tell you that it's just so they can keep track of it in their system.
4)The back room where the inventory is, is not organized. Meaning, shorts could be with the shirts, and sunglasses could be with the underwear. It's all just a big mess. So if you find something you like on the sales floor, but you need a different size, you can ask to have them look in the back, but chances are, we can find it either.
5)When stealing something from there, you can literally grab anything and everything you want and walk out as long as the value of your things are $500 and under.
They can't touch you...they will confront you, but you can still leave. this would happen all the time at my location.

Okay dude I'm working there rn, I think there was some drama with people not realizing the ONCs were credit cards cause sometime in the past 6 months they've added a step on the application asking people to confirm they know it's a credit card 😂
But also yes to all of this. Like with the stealing, we're told over our headsets to keep an eye on anyone who looks suspicious but we're not actually allowed to stop anyone who we think may have stolen or check their bags or anything...
And our systems are all super old and only update the inventory every 24 hours so if you ask an employee to check if they have something in stock, even if the system says we have some I usually say no just cause I don't wanna waste 20 minutes searching through piles of clothes for something that's probably either at the bottom of a fitting room bin or has already been sold.
Also, we do keep somethings in the back but usually only jeans, kids leggings, and a few random shirts at my store. I've gotten in the habit of not wasting my time checking when I know 99/100 times it won't be there.
Honestly they change the inventory and organization of the store often that when it comes to helping you find things employees don't really know much more than you do...

my mom worked as asset protection (loss prevention) at toys r us/babies r us and she told me so many secrets
    1) there were barely any working cameras in or outside the store.
2)the asset protection people watched people who they thought were stealing to make them uncomfortable but they cant actually accuse them of stealing
    3) a person can take a shopping cart and fill it up with as much stuff as they want and un out of the store and the employees or security guards cant stop them
4)you can return anything without a receipt and get store credit so alot of people steal small(but expensive) things and return them for store credit to pay for other things
5)if the packaging to something is damaged you get a discount on it, im not sure how much though

i work at kmart and when customers ask for employees to 'check out the back' for a product, and we say 'all we have of this product is already out on the shop floor' . that's 98% a damn lie. and if we do go out the back, we have no idea where to find your specific product. it's dark and cold out there. Also when customers assume that an employee folding clothes is going to know where to find cushions and round beach towels, laughable. this store is so big, i have no fkn idea

    Applebee's!
    1. If you ask to sit at a specific table or with a certain server, they have to seat you there.
    2. If the server doesnt recommend 5 specific drinks ( I dont remember the names but there's an ad on the table) then you get a free appetizer the next time you visit.
    3. Most of the food comes in bags besides vegetables (excluding broccoli) meat, and fruit.
    4. If you seat yourself, service will be slow because most likely you sat with a server who's hands are full.
    5. If you're rude then employees will talk about you and remember your face.
    6. If you don't tip the server, that server will tell all the other servers and remember your face too. Which means next time you come in, the service won't be as great.
    7. Employees get 50% off meals on a working day and on a day off, they get 30% off per week.
    8. And the last one, every time employees go back to the kitchen, they have to wash their hands with hot water and soap and have to use a paper towel to turn the sink off. This is required and all employees do it. If they dont, kitchen staff tell the manager and they would get into HUGE trouble.

I work in a clothing store. Customers would ask if you can check and see if there is another size in a shirt or some shoes. The employees (including me lol) sometimes know that there isn't anything in the back that they are wanting, so we usually walk back there, stand for 5 seconds or get on our phones. Then come back and tell them we don't have that size.

    • @Gabrieliuka
      @Gabrieliuka 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Well, yeah, I've told some customers that we literally don't have back-stock of items on the sales floor. After "yeah, but can you check" being repeated a couple of times, I'll just walk to the store room to make you happy/let me get on with my other work. If it makes a customer happy, whatever.

  • @GinelleGonzalez1
    @GinelleGonzalez1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +92

I used to work at Journeys:
    1) every employee has a daily sales goal so thats why they push you so hard to buy shoes
    2) if an employee tells you they like the shoes you are trying on, the employee who is helping you probably asked them to tell you that
    3) always check the size of the shoes. You might have asked for a 7 but it probably was out of stuck so they might have brought you a 6 or an 8 and said nothing.
    4) if you and a friend are buying shoes and an employee tries to make a single transaction instead of individual ones its because around a 25% of their sales needs to be selling more than one pair of shoes at once.
    5) if you asked for one pair and the employee brings you three, is because it is required to bring 3-4 pairs to the customer to choose from
I also worked at Hot Topic but it was pretty chill. At least my store truly cared about the customer and tried to make them happy. No beans to spill there.

    • @Larki
      @Larki 8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    1. Nothing is fresh, everything comes to us in boxes except the onions and cucumbers.
    2. The cookies and bread come in boxes too, we just buy them in the oven.
    3. If you call, 90% the employees will hear it ring but won't answer.
    4. If you come 45 minutes to an hour from closing, you might get hit with that "we're closing early today". In reality they probably already put the veggies in the fridge and are too lazy to get them back out.
    5. If we say we're out of something, it's probably somewhere in back. A lot of us are too lazy to prep on the spot.
    6. If you're nice, ask if we have any discounts available. You can easily get half off or a free drink. We might give you a free sandwich.
    7. Giving a tip will make our day. Even if it's just $1 or 2.

It's been almost 17 years since I worked there and I still remember bagging up popcorn that wasn't sold that night and then reusing it again the next morning by putting it back into the heaters.
I'll never forget the slip up I had one time when a guy asked me "How fresh is your popcorn?" And I replied "Well, what time is it?..... I mean, it's very fresh sir, made just minutes ago!"😬😳😬😳😬😳😬WOOPS!!! 😂😂😂

Ka'mari Suzie if you watched the video until the end you would know that Paris asked everyone to share the “secrets” of where they work.
