    The only video I found that helped me figure out the actual setup and WHY! I tried setting up directly without the laptop and was so frustrated it wasn’t working. So you taking the time to talk about the drivers and importance the laptop plays was a major revelation!

    Very helpful video. I have been switching back and forth between a lavalier microphone and doing voice overs in post. The lavalier has plagued me with static on multiple occasions and doing voice overs is time consuming. I tried an on-camera mounted microphone but it pics up too much focusing noise. This solution is precisely what I needed. I have a few Blue Yeti microphones so using one as a dedicated mic for videos makes a lot of sense to me.

    Hi thanks so much! Can I check if I can connect it with my Sony camera too?

  • @YOUinConsulting
    @YOUinConsulting 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Paul
    Thank you for your videos! I have copied your setup exactly, but as soon as I connect the Blue Yeti per audio cable with the Canon M50, I get high-pitch and irregular beeping noise on my recordings.
    I use the Canon EOS Utilities for remote recording (which is just the same as if you recorded from the camera directly, the utilities are just a remote control). I can see in the Canon recording software that even when I do not record, as soon as I connect the two devices by audio cable, there immediately emerges that noise, which I hear then, too, once I start recording.
    If I record by using Camtasia, I do not have this problem, because then the audio signal is directly fed to the laptop and does not pass the camera, but for several reasons Camtasia is not really a good option for recording from the camera. I strongly prefer to record from the camera (or software) directly.
    Therefore question: Do you also use the Canon EOS utilities to record? Or do you use some other recording software? Or do you record audio and video separately and mix it together again manually?

I'm asking because I read quite a few reviews on several 3.5mm TRS cables and many seem inadequate in quality, with static sounds, etc. I found the audio here to be quite good, so I just wanted to make sure that the cable you recommend is the one I should go for.
