Ukraine seems very big in cereals! Buck wheat is a popular Russian grain as well I think (my daughter-in-law is Russian) but not so popular here in Scotland. Supermarkets seem to be much the same the world over. No big fish tank in our local ones though! Thanks again!

That is by far the widest selection of products I have ever seen in any store ever... I have been to Honolulu Havaii (3 months), Germany, Spain Gran Canaria, Turkey, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, this store beats them all by a huge margin lol.
Here in Norway we have the smallest selection of products in stores I have ever seen anywhere. That is because there is only 3 big groups owning almost all stores and they cooperate and demand everyone who want to sell anything in Norway to pay for "shelf place" and many are not willing to pay this to sell their products in Norway. Here all stores have almost the same identical limited selection of products and many who live near Sweden and Finland go there to buy things we can not get here in Norway and also prices is lower there.

Hi Olga. I really enjoy your trip to the supermarket. These are of great interest to me. I have worked in both small local market and in large national supermarket. If really enjoy looking at the grains in markets because I make my own breakfast cereals. For me it is fun to eat cereal that I have made from raw grain. For instance I start with wheat berries, flake them add in other grains such as hulled millet whole oats and several other ingredients, bake the mixture and then use honey for sweetener.
Thank you for the fun video. John

    Observations and comparisons :
    1. Millet is rarely available or eaten in USA 2. Prices for European products appear to be high priced (based on 25 Ukrainian Hryvnia per dollar) 3. Store is very clean. 4. Great selection of sausages. 5. Vodka is cheaper than USA (less than half). 6.Sour milk is sometimes called "kefir".7. Your market has much better food selection than Walmart. 8. Great selection of seeds for home gardens.9. In season produce, even in the USA, is the best time to get fresh food bargains.....10 .Ukrainian produce is better than produce typically found in US markets and significantly cheaper!

Borys NS EXCUSE ME AMERICAN FARMERS GROW AWESOME FRESH FOODS. AMERICANS DON'T EAT ALL KINDS OF GRAINS. We eats rice flour oats and wheat also. We eat a lot more beef as in steaks roasts hamburger lots and lots of chicken also we eat fresh fruit 🍉 and veggies year round thanks to our American Farmers. We have green houses and hydroponics. Borys is wrong about that. Your store is immaculately clean. I'm curious do Ukrainians Barter??? The outdoor markets look awesome!! 😃

due to my experience,Ukrain is not cheap country ..ofcourse not only for locals..yes,cigarette and alcohol cheap..but other stuffs are not cheap.(such as fruits,vegetables,clothes,etc..you must compare it with minimum wage for locals....
no racism in Ukrain..not a dangerous country..people are friendly..roads are not good..(only between kiev-lviv is good)..in each custom officers ask for tip ))...clubs are good...reasonable prices (not in odessa)..lviv is an amazing city..i loved it..zakarpatia is wonderfull..inside of apartments are nice..but stairs are ugly..girls are beautiful..but pls no one angry to me )) not no 1 off the world..(lebanese girls no.1)and i am not from lebanese )) nice videos Olga..and you have a sweet baby ;)

I went into a supermarket in Mykolaiv. It was huge and similar to those in the U.S. The big difference I noticed was that the cashier would not take money from my hand. I had to put it in a cup at the register and she would take it from the cup. Is that customary? I don't remember other places making me put my money in a cup. The other stores I went into we're smaller, and there were a lot of street booths.

I like how Ukrainian supermarkets sell fresh produce (fruits & vegetables) based on season and also the fact that most fruits & vegetables sold are locally grown in Ukraine.
Here in my country (Singapore), most of our fresh produce is imported from neighbouring countries in Asia & Oceania. It's sometimes strange when you consider how there are the same varieties of fruits & vegetables imported from China all year round, leaving us to question about the quality of fresh produce and whether or not they've been tampered with / genetically modified such that we are able to eat these fruits & vegetables all year round.

The supermarket range is better than most in Australia. (Also Australia has no alcohol). Parts of the video not so good for seeing prices. Clean and modern. Many prices more than I expected, must be pretty tough for those on low wages.
