Vap'IDF 2015 : Live steam race

Vap'IDF 2015 took place on May 9th and 10th 2015 at the MCCR's pond. Vap'IDF is a joint event from the MCCR and the Arc-en-Ciel model boat club.
With over 40 live steam boats the event was again a success. Agility courses, docking/undocking, and of course the main race which took a somewhat dramatic turn as you can see.
Here are the highlights for the main race. Five laps, a bit over 500 meters. But as it is often the case the winning boat wasn't the fastest one !

mnewlyn Some editing goes a long way. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
I'm sorting the 4hrs+ of footage I shot with my GoPro from my springer tug. Quite a few interesting shots although much less dramatic.
I'll try and upload a video this week end.

And I was just thinking these boats look unstable in the water, ... and the one went under. Was the boiler destroyed? Even though the upload is almost 10 years ago.
