Another good video. I hunted Black powder years ago in Nebraska shot at a buck and the smoke. I didn't even know if I hit it in about 15 minutes heard something behind me and that buck died right behind where I was. Hope we get to go trout fishing next few weeks.
Hey there Justin - just came over to support your channel from @MT Homestead - we don't hunt (but love watching anything about hunting on YT) and we fish and live in the wilderness on an island so there's that
Those Ol side hammers can be addictive to some of us, I have never fired an in-line, and have no desire to! in fact if I use anything other than my Lyman GPR, it will probably be a flinter! ( you may find your self wanting to take that New Englander out again! )
Congrats on getting fresh meat for the family. First muzzleloader I ever shot was a 54cal years ago and took a nice doe in WV with it. Good luck next season and be thankful for our blessings 🙏
Congratulations! I’m still trying to get one with my grandfather’s old muzzle loader. I may have to finish my project next next season! Congratulations on 1k subs.
My first muzzleloader was the New Englander. It was very accurate, I shot it at alot of competitions and won enough money to pay for it several times. With a round ball I used 60gr of ffg and with buffalo bullets used 80gr of ffg. The hang fire would improve if you used black powder instead of pyrodex. I tried it in my white moutain and had the same problem, went back to Goex.
Came over from MT Homestead, I am glad for you for getting your Deer, most of my family used to hunt and bring home wild game for years so I understand , but have to admit being in my 70's now I prefer just watching them eat and take care of their babies. But will continue to watch your other video's . God Bless and Stay Safe.
Great question! I wanted to take a deer with it the exact way that my uncle had it set up before he passed. Just for sentimental reasons for me. Thanks for watching.
Perfect hunt. I have been hunting with my T/C New Englander for nearly 30 years.

Sights are adjustable
Awesome hunt. I’ve dropped the hammer on a few old side locks but never connected. Inlines are a different story. Congratulations
Thank you!

Just curious, why didn't you move the rear sight when checking zero? It's adjustable after all. Great shot on that doe.
