How to ride from Geelong to Melbourne (and vice versa)

There are several ways you can ride from Geelong back to Melbourne, including via some quiet back-roads and then up along the Federation Trail.

Great, been meaning to do that ride but going to Geelong not back. I've been on the Fed trail and agree its great, not many pedestrians and you can really relax and not worry about traffic which is a bonus. What back roads did you take from Werribee?
