As a new hockey fan, I very much appreciate your videos! I subscribed at the start of these Playoffs, after watching just one of your breakdown videos. Very good content and well deserved growth! I’ve been a VERY casual “fan” of the Panthers for a while, but only because I live in the greater Fort Lauderdale area. It wasn’t until I was invited to game 2 of the series against Tampa Bay, where I felt the electricity in the building of the fans, seeing the energy all around, the passion and dedication for the sport and the team, that I really understood why people love this sport. After that I became obsessed with all things hockey. I got myself a jersey and consumed the rest of the Playoffs. This SCF series has done even more to get me to fall in love with this sport! Either for FL because they were ONE win away, then lost three, or for EDM because they clawed back and gave so much hope. I could barely get out of bed this morning. Most painful shit I've ever experienced. I was too young in 06 to really understand the gravity of it all. That being said this team will be back here soon💯
@@juaneerSo tired of seeing this narrative. Why would they? They just got to game 7 of the final and lost by one goal. Leaving a cup contending team is the last thing on their minds. Give it a rest people
That second Panthers goal. Knew it was done after that. Florida doesn't do well when they're behind, but when they get a lead they can protect it like no one's business. They got the lead, then shut the Oilers down. So wanted Edmonton to pull this off.
I said at the beginning of the game that the team who scored first would most likely win, I had hope when Janmark scored, but was completely demoralized when florida made it 2-1. I knew it was likely over at that point. Florida is too good with the lead.
The way the Panthers dug down deep and ground out that win, despite coming so close to blowing it, was incredible to watch. Hats off to them for finding a way despite the adversity
A fisrt stanley cup win for the Panthers with Paul Maurice coming from another organization that he rezigned from to caoch them, their capitain is the first ever Finnland native to hold the Stanley cup, Keith Tkachuk's son Matthew making history for his family. What a fairy tale story, even though I wanted them to face the Canuks, the Oilers where a fitting choice to bring the cup back to Canada but I have to give it to the Panthers since their road to victory was unbelievable.
I gotta say following your channel this season was awesome, your weekly videos were amazing and the work you put in to make 2-3 vids a week is incredible.

Thank you for all the videos this season! Honestly was hoping for game 7 so I could watch more breakdown videos! Excited for the summer videos and for next season as well!
Every dog has it's day. Strangely, as a Habs fan (I'm a French Canadian born in 87; Habs won in '86 (again) so being a Habs fan as a French Can. of my generation is pretty much the default way), when the Habs won their last in 1993, I was 6 years old. I don't remember that. I remember my non-hockey-fan mom though saying, "Habs always win, it's nothing special" (in French of course). I took it for granted then because of that. They had won over a quarter of all Stanley Cups at the time. I would never have expected to turn 37 (now) and not see the Habs win again, but that's the reality. They went to the finals in a Cinderella run in 2021, I thought it just might be Disney-movie-run. It wasn't. The Stanley Cup just becomes harder to win with every team that is added. So yeah, enjoy it. It doesn't last and no matter what the past is, this just might be the last Panthers cup in QUITE some time... I know that reality very well. Enjoy it.
Your channel has one of the best breakdowns of the game and the plays in it and I hope you grow more next year. You and everyone involved hella deserve it.
They def did. They won all the battles from puck drop til last few seconds along the board. Kinda sad to see oilers not fight like they did the other games.
I found your channel last October and watched your in-depth analysis of the Leafs's defensive weaknesses. Prediction: They were a regular season team. As a former hockey writer, I was very impressed with your analysis and looked forward to every subsequent video.
Why is he the best player ? I’m a new hockey fan. As many of us down here in Miami just started following the panthers. I started during last years playoff run. I kept hearing about this Mcdavid guy and expected him to do video game things but I didn’t see it. He looked good but nothing like he’s doing 180 slap shots at 200 mph. So why is he the “greatest”? Honest question from a new hockey fan
it is kind of hard to explain until you watch more and more and more hockey. You know how LeBron can just make stuff happen? Do you know how Steph Curry can just seemingly shoot from anywhere at any time and have a go in? McDavid is the hockey version of that. His speed and ability to find the open space and his ability to get the puck through 2 or 100 guys, going faster than everybody is truly something to behold. And this season, his dominance was largely through assists. He had 100 of them which doesn’t really happen.
This channel is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The systems and strategies are something I’ve always been trying to find and learn more about so thank you for these awesome breakdowns.
Thank you for all the amazing coverage this season. I've learned so much from watching your videos and my own game has improved because of it. I wish there had been a channel like this when I was growing up, but I'm glad you've made it now. Lots of video content is just background noise but your videos always keep my eyes glued to the screen & even rewinding to rewatch little details I didn't fully absorb. One of my all-time favorite channels. As far as my own opinions... McDavid was the right choice for the Conn-Smythe. Even when he wasn't putting numbers on the board it was insane to watch his vision on the ice. He's the single biggest reason the Oilers made it to the playoffs, to the finals, to Game 7, and even down to the very last seconds. I honestly think if he hadn't lost his feet multiple times that game, it might have been enough of a difference to change the outcome. I did not expect to care about or even watch an Oilers-Panthers final, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Some of the most exciting hockey I've ever seen in my life. Looking forward to whatever you've got in store for the off-season, almost as much as I'm excited for next the next season to begin!
For the Oilers fans out there, hold your head high. Your team played really well and nobody would have thought they would push it to game 7 after being down 3-0. Proud of the Cats though!
The Conn Smythe isn't an award for who's the most effective in every aspect, its an award for who was the single most impactful player in the playoffs. Barkov was simply not as effective as McDavid. The fact that the Panthers were able to win while not even having the most effective playoff performer on their team should be seen as even more impressive. Winning a cup is hard enough, doing it against the best player in the world is even more impressive. No point being sad with the Cup in your hands.
Throughly enjoyed all the breakdowns you did throughout this series and I definitely feel like I’ve learned so much! Looking forward to the offseason and next season breakdowns!!
I feel for the Edmonton Oilers and their fans to come all the way back and fall just 1 goal short...That's one tough pill to swallow. Grats to the Panthers who held it together 1 last time to take the cup home.
@@JedalgoNot really, they had polarized support in Canada but overall most of the country would have preferred them to win, and I don't think us American fans really have strong opinions one way or the other

Panthers fan here. I LOVE your breakdowns of hockey games, your hockey IQ is incredible. This channel was a golden find this year and I’m beyond glad I found it.
Your channel makes me a better hockey player because of how well you break down what’s happening. I’m learning to read the play so much better. That’s why your channel is growing. You’re not just another halfwit with an opinion. You’re a low-key hockey educator.
I love this guys break down of plays, educating me along the way. Im a huge fan of the game but dont understand the more intricate details. This channels awsome.
I don't know, on optics alone, McDavid should have gone out there for the Conn Smythe. I have to say though, the absolute threat of being remembered as one of the biggest chokers in NHL history one hell of a fire under the Panthers and it paid off. That was the team we saw for the first three games of the finals. Excellent game.
@@hookseybaby Ask yourself this. Would 99 have gone back out to get it? Yeah....of course he would. Sometimes you've gotta suck up your selfishness and do what's right for the game. The idea that it was "leadership" to not go out is absolutely preposterous, and you know it. Take off the homer glasses just for a second. It's OK to admit that McD is a bit of a baby about things, and still realize he's the best player the game has seen since Crosby.
Take a look at every picture of players accepting the con smyth who were on the losing team. Then tell me why you think he should have gone out to accept it. He couldn’t care less about it. He just lost when they were so close, and you expect him to put on a smile for the camera? Bruh he’s devastated about the loss, how is that being selfish?
Simple, I don’t like the panthers because their whole game plan is to physically hurt, beat, and break down players of the opposite team in order to win. It’s 80% physical brutality, 20% skill in hockey. Thachuk and Bennett are two of the biggest goons in the business and I physically cannot stand either of them. Lastly hockey is a winter sport and it has borderline zero business in a tropical climate such as Florida. So to have the panthers win over a city like Edmonton, where it’s far enough north that you get proper winters, and you can actually play the sport outdoors 4-5 months a year, is so stupid.
Great breakdowns.i don’t know really know the deep tactics in hockey but I feel like I’m learning so much listening to you. Fair play. Fantastic content
Man you need a podcast on Google Podcast and all other apps. I could listen to these breakdowns for hours. Hell, I'd listen to them as I'm practicing. I love your content man, keep it up.
Florida could've taken Edmonton in 4 straight, but they felt bad & let them come back, lol. Florida even gave the Edmonton fans the 8 - 1 blowout to make them feel good.
Is it that hard to admit Edmonton finally came back, only for Florida to finally respond back in game 7? I don’t get this narrative that the oilers have just gotten lucky this entire season. Good win for panthers, tough loss for oilers, but well fought.
Thanks for all the content all season long. The informative breakdowns really help a new-ish NHL fan from a non-hockey market (Australia) better understand the games I am watching. Looking forward to next season already. Go CANUCKS! :)
McDavid is NOT the best player in the world. He's not even the best player in the Western conference. Shut up about this guy until he actually wins something.
Depends on how you define best. I'm a Panthers fan, but in terms of raw skill and talent, no one is better than McDavid right now. I'd say Crosby was equal in his prime and definitely more complete.
If it wasn't for the way he played in 4-6 and getting pulled for the back up in 4 I could see it. But mcdavid was good all playoffs except games 6 n 7 but he set the record so I see why they gave it to him over Bob.
Nah. If Panther then I say Barkov. If Bob would have been like best goalie in playoffs maybe then. Or even clear best goalie of final series, but Skinner matched him pretty much. But Barkov as center of team's defense was just as good as he is at shutting down opponents and he also produced most points for the team. But that being said I can not call McDavid's playoff run being awarded as disgusting. That was one hell of a run.
Glad to see your channel grow so much, you deserve it. Your videos got me into watching hockey and I thank you so much for that! Can't wait for your future videos!

@@borrow4654 we’ve kind of embraced the all six of us thing. If it’s gonna keep happening, we may as well take advantage of it.

Great breakdowns all season long. As a hockey player in Europe, your channel is perfect for following the NHL and understanding the systems better.
The Corey Perry curse remains strong

Tha k you for your excellent coverage. I love how your break down all the little details.
As an Oiler fan, i will be anxiously waiting for next year and look forward to following your channel next season.
I could barely get out of bed this morning. Most painful shit I've ever experienced. I was too young in 06 to really understand the gravity of it all. That being said this team will be back here soon💯
Will McDavid and Dreisaitl leave soon?
@@juaneerI hope they both leave and edmonton in another decade of darkness
@@juaneerSo tired of seeing this narrative. Why would they? They just got to game 7 of the final and lost by one goal. Leaving a cup contending team is the last thing on their minds. Give it a rest people
GOOD
Lmao grow up 🤣🤣🤣 this literally gold to read 🤣🤣
Thank you for continuing to produce these videos and recaps. Cheers to an absolutely wild season and hopefully next season things get even wilder.
That second Panthers goal. Knew it was done after that. Florida doesn't do well when they're behind, but when they get a lead they can protect it like no one's business. They got the lead, then shut the Oilers down. So wanted Edmonton to pull this off.
So true. Watched them completely shut down the Wings a couple times this year when they held a lead. Tough team to play against.
I said at the beginning of the game that the team who scored first would most likely win, I had hope when Janmark scored, but was completely demoralized when florida made it 2-1. I knew it was likely over at that point. Florida is too good with the lead.
The low scoring games are Florida's way. When I saw it was 2-1 after 2 periods, I knew it was Florida's game too.
Thank you for covering this season!
Already excited for the next one!
Awesome work😊
🇨🇭
As a lightings fan I have to tip my hat to both teams for playing some amazing hockey
Fantastic coverage and break downs of the season, Thank you, loved listening and learning from you all year!!! Bring on 24/25 let's go Canucks!
The way the Panthers dug down deep and ground out that win, despite coming so close to blowing it, was incredible to watch. Hats off to them for finding a way despite the adversity
My favorite channel on TH-cam!! Thank you for your content. It makes my day
A fisrt stanley cup win for the Panthers with Paul Maurice coming from another organization that he rezigned from to caoch them, their capitain is the first ever Finnland native to hold the Stanley cup, Keith Tkachuk's son Matthew making history for his family. What a fairy tale story, even though I wanted them to face the Canuks, the Oilers where a fitting choice to bring the cup back to Canada but I have to give it to the Panthers since their road to victory was unbelievable.
Kurri won a number of cups, Esa Tikkanin also fFinnland native.
Lots of Finns have the cup. He's the first Finnish captain to win it
@@lynnfuentas9236Teemu had one!
I gotta say following your channel this season was awesome, your weekly videos were amazing and the work you put in to make 2-3 vids a week is incredible.
Barkov the real MVP
It has been a privilage to follow your views on NHL Hockey this season. Ive learned a lot and this season has been very enjoyable. Thanks for your effords and I hope to see you in the next one.
Dude, you’ve earned your success…. keep it rockin’ 💪 ✌️
All SC talk aside, congrats on the channel! I remember the first vid where you got me hooked was a breakdown on Pavel Datsyuk. You did a great job of breaking down exactly why he was so special, and your videos are still the best at doing those breakdowns. Hope the best for everyone involved in this endeavor.
Verhaege scored more goals than McDavid in the playoffs. And he scored in game 7. And he won the cup. Just sayin.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for all the videos this season! Honestly was hoping for game 7 so I could watch more breakdown videos!
Excited for the summer videos and for next season as well!
As a day 1 Panthers fan... it's so amazing being a Cats fan right now. Now... if the Miami Dolphins could maybe get their shit together :(
Every dog has it's day.
Can’t say it wasn’t disappointing… but the panthers earned it
next year Edmonton are winning at all
They def did. They won all the battles from puck drop til last few seconds along the board. Kinda sad to see oilers not fight like they did the other games.
@@thecastleofenlightenment2604 Nah, this was the run. Maybe after another rebuild with the next generation of superstars, sometime in the 2030s.
@@AFrenchGuyIGuess so true, idk why people are like "omg they're gonna do this every year from now on!! yay!!!!"
Will keep an eye on him next season. Thank you
This channel is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The systems and strategies are something I’ve always been trying to find and learn more about so thank you for these awesome breakdowns.
Been waiting for this!
You are so deserving of even more success on TH-cam. There's a reason you're growing. Always love the breakdowns of the game. 👍🏻👍🏻
Conn Smythe should have gone to Barkov. Not sexy but he's so effective in every aspect.
Mcoiler paded his points against easy opponents, we need more PP he cried....game 7 was great Florida--well deserving panthers..
Thank you for your videos mate. What a great finale, so happy for the panthers and Paul Maurice ❤
That carter tip goal is just crazy
You deserve your 170k man! Congrats
Nah FUCK EM
No one does. Everyone in the NHL is celebrating. Oilers are just as hated as Vegas 😂
@@JedalgoNot really, they had polarized support in Canada but overall most of the country would have preferred them to win, and I don't think us American fans really have strong opinions one way or the other

This was decided after the Oilers went down 3 games. By game 7 the Oilers were so out of gas you would think there was an oil embargo.
McDavid had an abdominal tear, which will require surgery. Draisaitl was playing with a broken rib and a broken finger. This info has been released to the media recently.

as an Flames fan, this game was the cleanest, best pleasure. SCREW THE OILERS, LETS GO PANTHERS!
Your channel makes me a better hockey player because of how well you break down what’s happening. I’m learning to read the play so much better. That’s why your channel is growing. You’re not just another halfwit with an opinion. You’re a low-key hockey educator.
The last 24 hours have been amazing as a Panthers fan.
best hockey channel on youtube, you could not have covered this entire season any better for how much controversy and chaos there was, huge props
McDavid is not the best player on earth. He's incredible, yes, but please stop choking on his stick. If he was the best on earth, oilers would've won.
Precisely!!!
Well said 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this guys break down of plays, educating me along the way.
Excellent game.
naw. McDavid didn't leave his team in their lowest moments. that was leadership
@@hookseybabybro would’ve been absolutely crucified by the fans and his teammates if he went back out on the ice 😂
@@lucg4005 It's unprofessional.
Love the channel! Congrats on the success this season and enjoy the summer. Can’t wait to watch the growth next season!
And now it is a good time to show respect to Cats. If you still have no reason to show it, please explain
No pedigree

I never had any doubt the Panthers would win, even after the 3 losses. They really are the better team.
I’ve been following you since 9k subscribers. You did an amazing job this season, your videos are amazing and you deserve all your new found success!
Go CANUCKS! :)
Oilers fans how you feeling now 😂😂

Love your work. You provide insight that makes sense and just enough dry humour to keep it real. Looking forward to what you give us next season.
There are many layers that make your videos great. Keep it up, and have a great off-season!
Bob should have won the Conn Smythe Trophy. That's disgusting.
