Nice👍 I'm sat here at 5am feeding the baby and a challenger 2 review appears with great timing. Just what I was hoping for, a great tank, with great armour but with balanced weaknesses. My plan was to just unlock the whole line on my main account and grind it on my 2nd but I'm enjoying playing this line so much I'm going to grind most of it on my main. This line was worth the wait. Great video thanks 👍
So glad I discovered this game! I was trained on Chieftain and chally one and two. I learned to drive Chieftain in Catterick, and when I got to my regiment in Germany, they'd just been issued Chally one lol, so I never saw a Chieftain again. I had to retrain as a driver on chally. Loads of fun with plenty of baileys and coffee passed under the gun by the loader lol. Those were the days. I ended up going down the gunnery route and became a gunner mech. It's fun to play this game having served on the actual tanks. Now I've just got to grind my way up from the Centurion lol
Hey mate, I’m almost done the British line. Contrary to most people, I enjoyed the Chieftain Mk 11, and the Challenger 1 so far is excellent. Looking very much forward to getting this one. 👍
Not true about the DPM comparisons. Those figures for the M1A2 and T72BU are without any modules such as advanced loader. Abrams have about 5531 DPM when fully equiped.
5:14 no, my t72bu goes 77km/h. Also, I dont recomend the challenger 2 for your first CW grind. Its not that its a bad tank, its a good tank, but the t72bu is the best way to go. For one, the t72A up to the t72bm are much better than the english counterparts, especialy in era 2. The chieftan mk6 and mk11 have no sort of spaced armor or ERA, so they are very vonurable to explosive projectiles. Their armor in general is very similar to the m60s, and they are known for not blocking much unless hulldown. The Conquerer is just a bigger ch.mk6. Only the challengers are compatible with their russian counterparts. And the t72bu's ONLY problem is gun depression, but I never had any problems with it anyway. It has a good gun, ATGMs, low profile, lots of ERA and spaced armor, and an amazing top speed of 77km/h when fully upgraded. The challenger does have a better gun, but no ATGMs, and only a decent top speed, and that lower plate is gigantic, waayy too thin, and it doesnt even have any spaced armor or ERA. The only thing that it does better than t72bu (im just gonna say t90 now) is penetrate and fight in hulldown positions, however, like I said, I usually never have a problem with the t90's gun depression, and the chally 2's penetration is really good, but for what, both of its counterparts have weakspots anyway that arent that hard to hit, but I guess the 730mm of pen is good for engaging a tank in a hulldown position. The american tanks are a whole other story. So the chally 1 and 2 are still really good tanks, but I dont recomend them be your first CW grind, biggest problem in the grind is armor, you would have to keep at least a mid range away from enemy tanks to prevent from being shot, the t72s armor allows you to get closer to the enemy, and not have to worry as much about being penetrated.
@@bigfazza9470 ok, well, its not just era 2 and 3, dont forget about one. The t54 and obj.165 are better than the english tanks. The t62 and t72a are still great tanks, I dont know how you play them, but I had fun with em. And idk what you mean by "they have to angle their side armor to bounce", all the tanks have to do that, and the t72av has ERA on its sides, so it can block any explosive sell, including the high alpha damage ATGMs
@@Daniel_Richardson I'm talking about T-72AV top Russian era 2 tank having to angle to block damage on its side ...my Centurion mk9 with its stock gun can punch through it when it's flat without using APFSDS and centurions are not tough but not weak however its pretty versatile and fun to play
@@bigfazza9470 oh I see, but isnt that the same problem with every other tank? The new fv4211 seems to be the only one that doesnt need to angle its side to block
@@Daniel_Richardson yeah because it has thick side armor panels that's like 70mm thick but has same flaw as challenger trolly but big commander hatch weak on driver hatch or lower plate
I’ve grinded all the CW tanks and I’m working on the challenger 2 line, with XP boosters I just reached the First ERA 3 tanks the MK 11 and I’ve had a lot more fun with this line then I did the Abrams and 72, but for new players I’d have to recommend the T72BU line or the Abrams. BMP-3 also isn’t a bad one to pick up. The T72BU line is a pretty forgiving line for new players in CW I think personally. But my favorite ERA 3 is the Abrams for that mobility and decent DPM.
I don't comment much and greetings from usa but I gotto say lol I also have chally 2 and it's maxed out. With a 9 perk crew on both my m1a2 and my challenger 2. I gotto in general I prefer my m1a2 due to the same armor layout minus the lower glaces weakness. In the Abrams from the front your only weakness is under your gun so after you fire drop your gun to the ground and turret lock until your able to fire. You'd rather your gun go out than lose HP lol js
I run a speed build on this tank. It is OBSCENELY fast. Not JUST fast, also extremely agile- fully upgraded, it is very close to the russians. It keeps up with the fastest tanks and has a better gun. Its hull armor is not as good, but the sheer speed allows you to relocate instantly. Im talking 90kph. It can also ram for 2k. Hull down ANIMAL. My favorite modern tank. It is LEAGUES ahead of the Abrams. I literally sold my A2 after 2 games in the challanger. Overall, it is just as good as the BU, but less versatile. The BU can just charge into the middle of a battle. The challenger is not a mid battle brawler, but the gun is NASTY. Premium pen of 720 goes thru EVERYTHING. Update: 2023 - march - This tank's reverse is incredibly fast. I don't know the exact number, but it feels like 50+. You can backtrack against pushing tanks very effectively.
pay to win, the biggest turn off for me, especially in world of tanks. You can get free xp and skip the grind by paying, or spend hours getting just 10xp
@@atinofspam3433 Not as easy as you would think. For newer players will have to grind because they don't have millions of free exp that have been saved up from years of playing. If you want to play the game in that manner then you will have to get a good premium tank that you can enjoy and just grind exp on it, then convert that to free exp.
hello the disadvantage of the BU and its petrol tank has the front of its chassis it is not uncommon for it to catch fire ah and that is what sometimes desapointed me xD
Challenger 2 is a defensive aggressive playstyle as riki mentioned its ability to peek and fall back nearly 30 kmh so this line will teach you you ridgline so find a hill top and control it so you can suppressive fire on targets :)
Difficult to say if one is better than the other. Your play style will determine what’s best for you. C2 has a great gun, great mobility but a large lower plate weak spot. 2A5 has a great gun, good turret armour but doesn’t turn well and is easily set on fire.
Hey I don’t have the new British tank tree, I’ve searched everywhere and made sure filters aren’t on. I got the update and can see new tanks in game but I can’t play them myself because there’s no tree! Can anyone help me?

And, the m60s where not so bad in my opinion, they just had to be played from long range. But I dont disagree with you, because of the fact that you have to either play from long range or hull-down, you cant have a lot of fun if you're more of a brawaling guy. But the whole line is kinda that way, the m1s have loads of armor, but they have gigantic weak spots, to where you have to play them like the m60s.
