I'm sure of that because I've recorded Mike Portnoy before, at least three times, with John Petrucci, and Jordan Rudess by himself twice. Your footwork was exemplary, and this cover was outstanding. 'Nightmare' itself is a much more difficult heavy rock selection to perform than many people realize. Prior to running FOH live sound at major venues, recording, and eventually becoming an Audio Mastering Engineer, I was a double technology Masters graduate from MIT and accomplished keyboardist that hung around with many musicians from Berkley in the Boston area. When I got tired of the 'think tank' jobs in my late 20's, I joined a touring rock band on the road with an exclusive booking agent out of Chicago. THAT agency would have hired you in a heartbeat for a tribute band, or any traveling progressive rock group. Your chops appear to be outstanding, and taking the time to learn such an intense tune such as THIS one says a LOT about the determination and drive of an individual. I'm retired now, but I sure as hell can still recognize and separate bullshit from real talent. I believe YOU'RE the real deal kid. Best of luck in whatever you decide to pursue for a career. He was VERY happy with the results. Loved those mics!!!

If you got one and moved yours to the center, you’d eliminate that long crossover reach, bring in the left components, and ultimately increase the force behind your left hand snare attack. Relocating the existing center splash wouldn’t be hard.
