Back when I ride horseback for work, I would have to reins resting on my forearm because I had to lean forward when my horse was running full speed and it helped me have a tighter grip
I love split reins so much!! But since I got my new horse that’s a short back the reins come down past his knees so I don’t use them much sadly. They are very nice to teach in for sure!!
@Bentlee_Bunni ya, I struggle running in split reins but I prefer long reins for warning up or practice that way he has his head but racing he needs a lot of support that split reins don’t give him cause they are super hard to work with. It’s not like I can’t but I have tried and he just blows up in a mental meltdown. He also stresses over weird things I do so I have to be picky on what I do.
@@barrelracingtraininghelp yes! I have a pair of shorter ones but I never use them. I will today I think they will really help in my pole bending run today!
For right now I am not planning any clinics. With that being said I will come to places that people host me, just don't have any that I am going to plan myself for now:)

I love split reins! I usually keep a couple of different sizes of reins just in case I hop in a smaller horse too
