This video brings back memories. It was this video that convinced me to buy my first C2 Tere Disc frameset. Now I'm looking to buy an aero bike and I'm torn between the rere disc, timemachine, and maybe the new venge. I've ridden the venge vias disc with etap hrd but sold it after 3k miles.

The expression at 8:56 mark sums it up for me, this build is too relaxing with that music (felt sleepy). Love how easy all the internal routing was, that was not the same for me on my Allez build. Nice build. I've built a scott foil with 1x myself too. It's fitted with garbaruk's melon 42T chainring and 11-30T sram red cassette. Good for flat and climbs as long as not super steep. the chapter rere and scott foil seems to have quite similar profile lines from side.

carbon in aero-shape inkl. seatpost, superlight wheels with strait spokes, carbon bars, hydr. disc brakes....I did it all and found out, that a steel colnago with carbon wheels gave me the biggest smile I ever had and comfort on top. These carbon bikes are fantastic in the lab but lost all the magic we had in steel and titanium !

I would still need the 2nd ring and front derailleur in my area but the idea of removing them is an interesting one. Just curious, have you seen the pearl version in person? I've been bike shopping for 2 months and thought I had it down to 2 models until I came across your video. Now I have to know how it rides in climbs and descents. The other 2 models I'm considering are the Ridley Noah and the Wilier Cent 1 Air. If you have any thoughts on those 2 models, I'm listening. :)

I was looking into a 2018 Felt VR5 that's on sale but I'm not sure about carbon frames so I just might go with the VR30 instead. I currently own a 2018 Cannondale Trail 6. I want to try a different brand for the road bike.

All perfect except the discs. I ride discs on my bike and the next bike definitely will be rim brakes again. Not that the brakes are bad as such, but the are high maintenance (especially brake rub), heavy and expensive. And you just don't need them. Especially not on a crit bike.

If you have enough money to buy a bike that does each job separately, then it won't matter what bike for which use. About maintenance, I bleed both once every 12000km(SRAM RED HRD) or one year usually except pad changes happen roughly at 6000km mark if that is still too frequent then it is probably best to go back to full mechanical rim brake then. As of the rubbing case, a thru axle bike has a lot less rubbing than a QR or semi QR system. The other thing is disc brake is much more solid on aero road bike compares to a GC bike. The only brake rubbing I can't eliminate is the new pads, they will rub the disc for about 130km unless you live near the mountain where you can bed them in with maybe 1 big descent. I am kind of inverse to you, I get into Disc and trying to solve any problem that came up with it at the beginning then I just can't switch back again.

Buy high quality wheels that do not flex. Unfortunately, many wheels that come with factory bikes are subpar.

Had you waited another 7 months, you might have Sram Force Etap AXS installed instead of a cable-actuated Force set.
