The best strength weapon in the game in my opinion, way better than the giant crusher. It has more ashes of war, far lighter and lower requirements, S in strength scaling, and the lowest affinity scaling is a B, better moveset and has access to slash/Pearce damage. It’s better in almost all ways, apart from raw damage, even then the right build like braggarts roar, highland axe, roar medallion, axe/spear talisman can destroy most bosses, top 5 best weapons in the game.
Plus it looks fire as hell.

Honestly, the Nightrider with just a Flaming Strike and some decent poise armor is one of the top beginner PvP setups in the game. Aggressive enough to roll-catch, punishes over-aggression, easy to use and effective everywhere. The other fun ashes like Lorettas, Stormcaller, Ice Spear and Blackflame Tornado are just cherries on the cake, whether you are a red velvet or a yellow sponge cake.
Also, excellent spacing at 9:21, that was perfect.
The problem with Halberd class is their running attacks are very easy to backstab
I always love builds/weapons that are effective in PVE, PVP and the arena with little changing needed and this weapon fits that goal amazingly

at 4:55 you can see that the octopus has a bubble, i had no idea you could buff those guys with aromatics.
You can buff almost all the PC enemies with the aromatic buff

I’d love to see phantom slash! If you free aim you can send the phantom out like a projectile, then shoot yourself the opposite direction to avoid getting punished! Also hyper armor on the follow-up. So good!

I think a lance build with lots of ashes would be really fun. The lance has so many good ashes and it being the only infusable great spear makes it unique and fun as well.

A great and fun build i came up with is, dual greatsword with the right hand one with bloodhounds step or quickstep, and the left one with bragarts roar. and if you put the pear tailisman on and do a backwards bloodhounds step then L1 it does some crazy damage.

Nightrider glaive maxed out with blackflame tornado is what got me through the Elden Beast when the game first came out. I love this weapon.

This on a str/int build with ice spear is one of my all time favorite pvp setups
I've never used halberds, but yesterday I found that the keen tree spear gets an A scaling in dex. combined with greases or incants was a great time with a fun moveset
This was my favorite weapon back when I was pvping
Would be nice to see your take on a hybrid arcane caster and melee build - maybe mixing your blood flame buff build with some dragon casting
I learnt recently that for Heavy and Keen infusions there is a weak category for some reason so ashes of war on the weak weapons do less for no particular reason, the Nightrider glaive being one of them for heavy
so in this particular case flaming strike might be affected but it is a weird ash.

@@jakemaxwell3810 I'll have a look later when I'm out of work, but it's only on heavy or keen and like 20 weapons ish and they lose only some damage like 10%

a tank build revolving solely around medium shields and greatshields with no skills attached but have bleed build up as my go to weapons no actual weapons, im using the crucible armor set and bull goat set. i went with the hero build to start it off and got the build set as follows....

dexterity 9
intelligence 7
faith 8
arcane 70
im also going between using gilded greatshield, crucible hornshield and black leather shield all with bleed build up. i can tank any major hit by alot of the enemies and bosses and follow up with a counter attack and cause blood loss on them

The Banished knight halberd is a mainstay on most of my builds, it weighs a lot less while being 95% as long and its damage difference compared to the nightrider is negligible. So it is worth it

Hey Chase, I'm curious if a build focused around delayed activation spells like Carian Phalanx, Magic Glintblade, and Rycard's Rancor would work well in conjunction with melee combat in invasions. So you set up with spells, then go in while you have extra hit boxes to help you fight. Would love to see you try something like that. Thanks for the videos!

You should try the godslayer greatsword, it has a croch poke to r1 true combo if you angle it right too

Warcry is AMAZING on halberd. Easy one shot and its a hop forward so its easy to hit get traded into and one shot people
Hands down favorite weapon, though golden halberd is a close 2nd

How often are you angling your swings to make them hit sooner? That’s something I’ve done in games like Chivalry, but I never thought about applying it to Elden Ring
The problem with Halberd class is thier running and R1 attacks are easy to back stab if you are not looking for it ,i find that in one handed halberd the backstab attempt is more visible and easy to react to than ywo handed
Do a video/build based around low equip weight, a buckler with parry and a straight sword!
Go all out with the parry, riposte while avoiding hits!

Chase's bewilderment at low-HP players will never not be funny
I could never get used to the overhead R1, might give it a try in the future but in all the times I tried this weapon it just felt slow, telegraphed and a pain in the butt to actually hit someone with. Poke R1 halberds on the other hand always felt 100x smoother to play with

Are stealth builds involving Assassin's Gambit/Unseen Form something you'd consider? I've seen someone use Assassin's Gambit right after Darkness and it seemed pretty interesting!
