Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (English: Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea) is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language epic historical period film co-written and directed by Priyadarshan. it is based on the battles of Kunjali Marakkars-the naval chieftains of the Zamorin of Calicut. Kunjali Marakkars organised the first naval defence of the Indian coast and safeguarded Calicut from Portuguese invasion for almost a century. The film stars Mohanlal, Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Keerthi Suresh, Siddique,Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is the most expensive Malayalam film ever made, with a budget of ₹100 crore.

He is a great director but I feel like he is lazy at times, a director of his calibre should never make movies like githanjali, oru mathrubhumi katha and ammayum muyalum or waste time remaking movies from
Malayalam to Hindi. He is much, much more than that, he created the best period film ever “Kalapani” and so many others. Hopefully he could create more classics! Great interview
Agree to that..He wasted a lionshare of his prime time at hindi remaking malayalam movies to half baked bollywood movies.He shouldve concentrated in malayalam movies,especially when malayalam industry was going through the toughest phase ever in 2002-2010 period..Even lalettan was having a tough time in that period except very few good movies.
