She is my hero! I live in a very remote area, and there is no MS specific therapy available to me. When I became aware of her online program, I joined The MSing link. She has changed my life in an extraordinary way and given me hope for a positive future.k
What a great explanation by Her on WHY we NEED to hold our stretches. Always awesome information that I can add to my MS RAP sheet of things to help me. #StrongerTogether
She helped me when I was first diagnosed 5 years ago & was just starting her MSing link-ness. She was so helpful for the two 1:1 sessions we did. Just lovely….i didn’t know she wrote a book!
This is my MS dream team!! :) Whenever people are newly diagnosed or otherwise looking for info, I always recommend you two. Your content has been so helpful!
Working my way back, after brain tumour surgery ( orange size brain tumour on my cerebellum)and with MS, walking everyday, gentle yoga and doing my Neuro PT exercises almost everyday. One of the things that are difficult is I have vertigo 24/7 because of both, so I'm learning how to work with that with everything else.
Amazing video, Thank you both. Dr. BOSTER let me borrow his The MSing Link Book, cause he's awesome. It is so good, I took many notes and got wind in my sails to push forward. Thank you both again.
Thank you for this morning video. It is helpful she breaks down each exercise and that the are functional. I ordered the book and will get it Wednesday. Doug coffee in hand from Lyndhurst can’t wait !
As someone relatively young I think I'm looking for more intense exercise. I see a lot of the easier stuff on TH-cam, and I understand it helps. Some of us want to push the limits. I just turned 30 and I'm 9 years into my diagnosis, I work an intense physical job, and I am now running into issues with ms. Just thinking out loud though.
I am curious about this "lack of carry over" that Dr. Hawley referenced in brains with MS. What type of disease progression are we talking here? To use her example of the abs- I do not believe that if I had a 6 pack that it would not translate to me easily engaging my core and practicing good posture while standing. Could that be because my disease has not progressed as much as someone who may have weak muscles and difficulty with mobility?
One question I have (which is not often touch-on in PT) is how does swimming translate into aiding in functionality? That is my main mode of exercise, and after hearing her say that crunches was a waste due to not engaging the muscles for balance, It made me wonder. Am I, effectively, wasting my time by swimming and need to find a more impactful exercise? P.S. Thank you for the videos. You've been a wealth of knowledge since my diagnosis.
I have been following Gretchen for a while, and I also have a small therapeutic pool I’ve been using for 10 years this coming January. She feels swimming is good for your body and muscles, but you are correct that it doesn’t help at all with function of specific muscle groups.
You’re absolutely not wasting your time! All exercise is worthwhile, however you may find more benefit from adding in functional exercise into your routine (even if there is little to no movement and it’s really challenging).
Question I've had a problem with the bike the put you on I loose the feeling in my legs ,and feel weird in my head after 30 seconds on bike ,or horse back ,or at rides ,any ideas.

Make sure you tell your doctor about your problems. Sometimes physical or mental stress can bring on a flare.
Outstanding presentation!
Thank you! Cheers!
❤ resharing this wonderful video
Would love to hear how these specialists got into their field- inspired by a family member? another specialist? Do tell!
Great question! Episode #1 on my podcast, The MSing Link, shares how I got into this field!
Great information, but WOW, the MUSIC was much too LOUD!
I agree - my dream team as well! Wish I could beam you to my home :)
