Nice progress. I admire #6 with the stock yard to be the priority project. I am a bit of a "freight car geek" and it would be fun to see your approach. I tend to waste a lot of time replacing cast on grabs and "shaow painting" ladders, etc, etc. One can make those nice Accurail cars look really good. Intermountain makes a nice 40' steel boxcar that is very close to the CB&Q XM32 series that was built from WW2 through 1958 in various sus-series. LikeLike (Proto2000) also used to make some CB&Q/C&S 52' gondolas that are appropriate for your era.
Work on the things you'd like to work on I should say in the first place. But finishing benchwork and trackwork (item 4 and 5) makes the most sense. Thanks for the update and keep enjoying the hobby👍🏻. Jasper
Howzit Mark : As like others have commented; I'll take any project you throw at us; but I skeem # 7 [ Wind River Canyon ] for a change in pace and application ! The mere fact that you have given us seven options to choose from; shows us that you are up for the challenge in the month ahead ! 😁🤙🚂
Great update Mark. It's good to see the Greybull yard coming together -- it should enhance operations greatly. And that's a wise choice on the grade -- a very smart friend recently gave me the same advice! 😅 For projects this month, I vote for #8!
@@mapruitt Good idea, but that's not it. Number 8 is putting a working coupler on the front of the Mikado working out of Greybull! Ha! Seriously, although I love the Wind River Canyon scene and want to see it develop, I vote for more rolling stock AND more track installation to enhance operations (Selfish? Yes! Two votes? You'd think I live in Chicago or something!)
@@kevinbohnenblust5844 😂 I have an easier solution for the dummy front coupler - that locomotive will only work on through freight service. No locals, so no switching.
Fantastic stuff Mark! I love your stock pens......(wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I also like the canyon scene. So more work on either trips my trigger!! ...Claude
I didn’t hear you mention how many cars you presently have in service. I recently passed the 250 mark. I really liked your weathering of the cars. Nice to see you’re weathering everything before it goes into service. Actually, I don’t care what you do this coming month, whatever you post I’ll watch 😊
Hello! I didn't mention how many cars I have, but as of right now it's 128, plus 8 waycars. I have a couple of non-weathered cars running, but except for those I haven't put anything on the layout without weathering it first. Just doesn't look right without (to me). Steam era railroading was a bit on the dirty side.
Hi Mark, I always look forward to your updates but they’re never long enough for me! Another good month with plenty done by the looks of things. I’m liking the look of that new backdrop but I think I’d like to see more work on number 7 the canyon, I think it was number 7 🤔😂 Cheers for now Mark, John
Hello Mr.P.! As always, it's with great anticipation I watch your monthly videos! Another fine job this month! My vote is #7, I think Wind River Canyon needs some of your attention.
Well, you have quite a selection to choose from, but I think you should finish Rocky Mountain Drilling so you can complete the main line from Casper to Greybull via Douglas. That will greatly change your operation for the better. However if you need to finish installing the sub roadbed for staging under Douglas and Casper, that should be first. As you said, it's easier to work on track etc. without having to work under another bench. Great Video as always, but it could have been longer. haha
You knew today was August 3rd, so your faculties are doing very well. I'll play this video again tomorrow and see if you realize it's the 4th. 😆 Great work as usual! Shame you had to lower the grade. I would have just put iron filings on the rails. 😐
I'll realize it's the 4th, but the video probably won't. I should have checked with you before changing the grade. I'm sure iron filings would have worked just fine!
Heck Mark!!! While I'm impressed by the amount of work you've done, is it any excuse not to post this on the MR Forum, depriving us of some wonderful modelling??!!!🤥
Hi Tom! Guess I could've spent a few more seconds on each car, but I threw them on the screen in time with the narration. Next time I'll talk slower! 😁
Really enjoyed it. Thanks for brightening my day.
Thanks!
Casting a vote for #1
Thanks for your update and have a good month!
Scott
Thanks Scott! I like #1 too - not a whole lot of hard work for that one!
Things continue to look superb, Mark. Thanks for continuing to share updates!
Thanks Gary!
It’s coming around very nicely!! Love that you model the Q in Wyoming!
Thank you!

Thanks Gary! I'll add one more to the stock pens tally.
I don't suppose you know what Accurail's stock number is for those boxcars?
The layout work you've done looks very good. You did an absolutely excellent job on building the freight cars. They come out great. 👍
Thanks William!

Hi Johnny! You know, when you're here I'm going to put you to work of some of these things!!
See : Enforced slave-labour IS perpetuated .... ! 😱
Great update Mark. I think Wind River Canyon.
Thanks Grandpa! The Canyon is the favorite so far...

Thanks Kevin! I think I like number 8 a lot - isn't that the one where I sit on my butt and drink beer all month? 😁

By the way, Mark, the coupler was my conductor's suggestion!

@@kevinbohnenblust5844 Your conductor is very smart.
Great Update Mark! I'm going to go with #7!!
Thanks Dennis! Lots of folks are going for the Canyon. Lucky me - that'll be the hardest of all of them (and a lot more than one month's work)!!
Fantastic stuff Mark! I love your stock pens......(wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I also like the canyon scene. So more work on either trips my trigger!! ...Claude
Thanks Claude - pick the hard ones!
@@mapruitt Of course! Anyone can do the easy stuff....just look at me! LOL
Another great update Mark, my vote is for West Staging.
Thanks Steve! Not many votes for staging yet, but it's certainly one of the necessary things...
Mark, I just figured it would give you a convenient place to have your trains so you could run more of them sooner. ;)

Canyon seems to be winning the poll so far...
I like to see Cody Branch, nice update.
Thanks! Two votes for the Cody branch so far.

Nice update. I'll vote the Cody Branch. 😀👍
Thanks Richard! One vote for the Cody branch!
Good update, Mark. For August, I'd say to spend some time on the Rocky Mountain Drilling scene.
Thanks Bruce! That's two votes for number 1! It's taken an early lead!!
Well, I’m working diligently on scenery, so you should too! Number 7.
Thanks Randy! Wind River Canyon is in the lead!
I'll vote for Rocky Mountain Drilling. It's always good to have a finished scene.
Thanks Jeff, that's a vote for number 1. I think that one I'll be able to do without a whole lot more effort (I hope).

Hi Bear! Thanks for the comment. I posted to MR forums with a link to this video. Thanks for reminding me!
I vote for Rocky Mtn Drilling, finish the scene...
Thanks Paul! I'll add it to the tally.
Great progress Mark! I've got some reefers I'm selling for my Father. I can gather a list if you're interested.
Hi Steve! I'll certainly take a look! My specific needs are iced reefers (no mechanicals). Thanks!!
Wow first like and comment.... I like Frt cars, but maybe more than just 5 seconds a car....

Good grief, you do more wore in a month then I get done in a year.
Thanks Bob! Sometimes it seems like I don't get much done at all.
