Hello ! I have a question . Does external midi controller connected to the Akai force have bidirectionnel communication with the akai force using the Mokba mod ? It's something that does not work with the akai force natively . Then while we can control parameters of a Force plugin for exemple , if the state of this parameter change on the force (for example with an automation) , it is not reflected on the controller . Of course if the controller have something to show this , like motorized fader, led , lcd ,screen, etc .
I don't believe so. But I see you joined the Discord community. Ask for this feature in the feature request section and Amit will let you know if it's possible. I have no idea if it is or not.
Great stuff! Off topic but what are the chances a Ram mod works? I’m assuming a 4gb should be no problem but what if I wanted to at least get it to 8gb-12gb.
I touched on this a bit in my disassembly mod video where I showed off my tilt screen mod but I've learned some things about that since. At this point, the work required seems beyond my abilities and it has been said that the internal bios might not recognize more than 4gb of ram because that chip only ever came in 2 and 4gb models. The best hope I know of to up the ram at all at this point is to get your hands on a MPC Keys or X SE mainboard and swap the Force board with that and then change the device ID in the firmware so that it can run the Force OS. But it might also be possible to simply swap out the CPU/ram chips without swapping the whole board in which case I THINK (I don't know for sure) it might not need the ID changed etc. Ultimately, these devices were never made to perform beyond the original specs of those boards. I would like to hope Akai is working on a new product line that has more ram and CPU power etc. or some kind of customer upgrade option but they just keep churning out more devices with these boards so that seems unlikely for the foreseeable future.
Wow, crazy. So I’m guessing there would be a way to assign a midi trigger to launch/cycle through scenes/rows like in ableton? It seems like such a basic feature to be missing from Akai but unfortunately it’s been completely ignored so loading up my ableton sets with all the midi trigger data and then loading all the MPC programs that live in the mpc vst within ableton is no help when I can’t cycle through scenes with a multipad and sticks. Very annoying but thinking of diving into the mod if I can assign or midi learn a trigger to launch scenes.
@@dreamstaticsounds oh sweet! Yeah I watched that vid previously but couldn’t see any midi learn for scene cycle? Does it have to be done on the step sequencer? Or can I trigger scenes with a midi controller? Many thanks!
@@dreamstaticsounds oh man thanks so much for this! This function means I can run live show with Force & Strike Multipad with sticks and merge all the Ableton scenes & midi info with all MPC programs into Force and leave laptop at home. I just need to set up a workaround to cycle scenes with a single trigger rather than one trigger per scene. I noticed in the instructions to update firmware first, is this necessary? As I can’t update because the later firmwares have midi bugs with multipad, it’s the other reason that the Force has been sitting unused for a number of years until I found one firmware that doesn’t do this but also reads Ableton sessions & MPC kits. Thanks again, I’ll go and check out the video now!
You've done some amazing work on the force. Lots of programming manually. Have you or others considered dumping all your data you have into an AI, like Chat GPT and using it to assist with programming? This will be particularly useful if you have access to the original code. AI can make most of us developers of 3rd party applications that were dreaming of.
I've only ever done hardware mods myself. I mostly do beta testing and feature suggestions for the MockbaMod team. I don't think AI could help with this very particular niche of modding, personally, but who knows.
IamForce2 uses the SD card, right? I mean it's possible but not without a LOT of tweaking to get you there. I tried to set MockbMod up with Hakai which I believe is based on IamForce and I wasn't able to pull it off. But that was probably over a year ago and I don't have an MPC anymore. Definitely would get another one if I knew I could use Mockba with it.
@@dreamstaticsounds Yes, SD card :-) It could be a nice combo, using with some launchpad, and still having pads on mpc :-) Meaby some days someone will make something like that. Or meaby akai will create some hybrid, of live 2 with force, but probably only in my imagination :) Great work afterall! Part of me wonna real force with Your mod :) Keep doing this great job :-)
Do you know if the touch screen sensitivity can be adjusted? Some times it's to sensitive. If not maybe some layers of tape will do. Yes I'm ghetto AF! I taped over most of the buttons on my RS7000 to make them more silent.
Hmm. Not sure. There's not in MockbaMod. Might be in preferences but I don't remember seeing it. I know you can change the dimness so I would think so but Akai makes a lot of weird choices that make me scratch my head.
Try holding the edit button and then pressing the down arrow. If you have the latest version of MockbaMod that should be the correct button combo to bring it up. Howeve, I seem to recall that 3.3 broke something in Song Mode and I do know that things edited in hidden MPC screens do not save with the project though they used to.
So when I install the Mockbamod: 1. Is it also easyly removeable from the FORCE, when I don't want it anymore? And how can I remove it after installing it? 2. And what is when Akai releases a new Firmware update for the FORCE. Can I still install that new FirmwareUpdate with no issues? And what does it do to Mockbamod: Will it become deleted (replaced by the new Firmware) or will it stay on the FORCE? 3. Can I have the Official current FORCE OS and Mockbamod installed on the FORCE at the same time?
Very good questions. 1. All you have to do is install the official firmware again to remove it. 2. Usually we release a new modded firmware within 24 hours of Akai releasing the newest firmware so there's often no need to install the official one. 3. The mod is just an addon of sorts. All you have to do to run the Force without it is take the MockbaMod SD card out and it will run the standard firmware. All the MockbaMod firmware does is tell the standard firmware to boot the extra options from the SD card. Let me know if any of that isn't clear and I'll be glad to elaborate as needed.
@@dreamstaticsounds thank you for the super fast reply :) I really appreciate what you and all people involved in the MockbaMod have done here. From a company standpoint this project is probably overengineered. But personally I hate the term „This is overengineered“ because in a lot of cases this is where a product/Software starts to get really useful for the user and also gives the whole thing the „wow“-effect. But I was a bit worried about getting bad issues with my FORCE someday after the Installation of MockbaMod, because this no official Firmware and there is nobody bound to deliver bugfixes or help when Users run into issues, or somehow the bootloader/bios will be destroyed and you can‘t boot the device anymore. You mentioned the emmc demage. Is it possible with that issue to install a new official Firmware from Akai and get rid of the problem?
@@silvershepherd2124 Our Discord is always open for support. I don't see that changing anytime soon. As for the emmc issue, from our tests, only installing the official 3.1 firmware has fixed the emmc issue and even that doesn't work sometimes. If you didn't want to use MockbaMod but wanted to fix emmc issues you could always install the MockbaMod firmware long enough to run the emmc repair and then install the official firmware again.
Yo! I've posted this around & people are very impressed except for 1 hacker-hater on the elektronauts Force page. Some MPC users are now thinking about coming over to the Dark-Side! They better bring Stem to the Force, if not, do you think that something team Mockba do for us? Peace
There's always a hater in every group, lol. As for Stems, it's an Akai thing. I suppose it's possible that Amit could develop something that makes use of online stem tools but I really don't know. @@dreamstaticsounds Hey thank you for your response I have another quick question could I trigger and record in pads with a foot pedal like a Behringer FCB1010. So I could create a multi channel looper without using my hands?

Thanks for the video, takes alot of effort for creation I'm sure. if I retire early from my job I might do the mod😅. Would Akai ever interface with the Mod developers, ever?
If you have no experience with Linux or modded firmwares, it definitely takes some getting used to. But the benefits, IMO, are well worth it. And no, if Akai were going to do that, I would think they would have reached out by now. They ignore us and pretend we don't exist. 🤷♀️
You da fucking man! This is the video many people have been waiting for. This is just on time for me I'm just about done with the project I've been working on & will have the time learn this OS. Thank you so much! One thing that I want is for the quick side menu that's on the left to be able to be moved to right of the bottom of the screen. I'm always pressing a clip by mistake. At least make it invisible but still active. I'll pass this demo around. BTW, you are not T.R.A.S.H. Peace!
You can make that menu go away in Akai's preferences and then just use Midiloop to set button commands or combos to open things you would use the menu for. That's what I've done. I'm not at my Force right now but when I have a moment I'll tell you where you can change that.
@@dreamstaticsoundsI like the feature, but not the placement for it. I saw the button thing your talking about, but I just wanted to throw that out there as another option. I post this video on some sites, hopefully it will "force" Akai to add them officially!

Verselab MV 1 About the mod, it looks great and have to say hat off to everyone single one of you involved in making it happen. The only thing is i’d be scared to try it after i commented on your bigot video. I’ve known my brother was gay since i was 17 and never had an issue. Today age 45, we’re bombarded with political messages, labels, people expecting strangers to address them a certain way. Not once has my brother or any of his friends ever did that, nor do they expect me to address them a certain way. My question is, why bring those messages into a music channel if you don’t want people to ask questions or god forbid, have an opinion? I’m hoping you can answer this without using any labels 😢
For one, I have a terrible memory and have no recollection of what was said by you or me in that thread and i cannot find it now. For two, this is my channel and nobody is holding a gun to your head. If you don't like what i say, theres a whole lot more to watch here on YT. For three, i am not gay i am nonbinary and i have a transgender daughter and the degree of attempts by people in government and elsewhere in society to erase our existence is enough to deal with. I dont have time or patience to do the heavy lifting to explain my life and my choices to anyone, least of which some rando who argues with me in TH-cam comments.
I didn’t ask you to, i was just hoping you might’ve been able to see the issue. It’s absolutely fine, as you say there’s plenty other channels, not plenty other mods but hey enjoy the rest of your day 👋🏻
@@TeamHanded the issue is that people seem to think they deserve to be catered to. Tomorrow I could pull every mod video I have and put up videos about how transgender people are having their rights taken away in about half of the United States and elsewhere in the world and that would be my choice. But I'm not about to change who I am or what I have to say to try and make everybody comfy cozy either. 🤷♀️

Yes. Even better I came up with a method of simplifying it for folks: th-cam.com/video/KOV_PBQQOtQ/w-d-xo.html
@@dreamstaticsounds oh sweet! Yeah I watched that vid previously but couldn’t see any midi learn for scene cycle? Does it have to be done on the step sequencer? Or can I trigger scenes with a midi controller? Many thanks!
@@jckinteriorsounddesign it can be triggered with a midi controller. Here's a tutorial for setting that up: www.patreon.com/posts/106175045?
@@jckinteriorsounddesign it is necessary but there may be a solution. What firmware do you use?
You've done some amazing work on the force. Lots of programming manually. Have you or others considered dumping all your data you have into an AI, like Chat GPT and using it to assist with programming? This will be particularly useful if you have access to the original code.
AI can make most of us developers of 3rd party applications that were dreaming of.
I've only ever done hardware mods myself. I mostly do beta testing and feature suggestions for the MockbaMod team. I don't think AI could help with this very particular niche of modding, personally, but who knows.
I have incepction question - can i run Moscba on Iamforce2 (it is custom rom for live2 to run force on it)? Sounds crazy, but..is it? 😂
I know you can change the dimness so I would think so but Akai makes a lot of weird choices that make me scratch my head.
how can i get the song mode from mpc on force
Try holding the edit button and then pressing the down arrow. If you have the latest version of MockbaMod that should be the correct button combo to bring it up. Howeve, I seem to recall that 3.3 broke something in Song Mode and I do know that things edited in hidden MPC screens do not save with the project though they used to.
So when I install the Mockbamod:
@@dreamstaticsounds thank you for the super fast reply :)
I really appreciate what you and all people involved in the MockbaMod have done here.
@@dreamstaticsounds Thanks :)
is the installation work with micro SD card d?
Micro SD with a card adapter? Absolutely.
Do I need update teh firmware even tho I have 3.3.0.0 installed?
If you want MockbaMod to work you have to update the firmware with the modded firmware.
having problems with 3.3 usb update can u do a step by step. please thank you
3.3 MockbaMod or official USB update? Step by step of what exactly?
Yo!
I've posted this around & people are very impressed except for 1 hacker-hater on the elektronauts Force page. Some MPC users are now thinking about coming over to the Dark-Side! Keep up the great work with these demos. Hopefully Akai will take note & stop holding back these useful features. They better bring Stem to the Force, if not, do you think that something team Mockba do for us? Peace
There's always a hater in every group, lol. As for Stems, it's an Akai thing. I suppose it's possible that Amit could develop something that makes use of online stem tools but I really don't know. Best way to request features is to join our Discord server which is listed on the GitHub page and request there. If it's something possible they will say. I'm not a developer myself. More of a beta tester and idea person. And of course I make videos about all this too. But that's about it.
hi, we need to have akaiforce to control fl studio and reason, and machine like abelton live.
This is something you would probably be better off reaching out to Moss (DrivenByMoss, ConvertWithMoss) about. He's done this with Reaper and Bitwig for a bunch of devices including the Force and MPC.
Bravo bon travail. Muito bom obrigado
ohhh my!!! Who are you?? I have probably a too quick of a question for you. I just want to use Arturia Minilab 3 with force some CC maping and use the keyboard arpeggiator with forces plugins. Is this thing even possible?
Entirely possible. You should be able to set that up with the regular firmware with the midi learn function in the menu.
But if you want to launch rows or do more complex stuff, MockbaMod blows the whole feature set pretty much wide open.
@@dreamstaticsounds Hey thank you for your response I have another quick question could I trigger and record in pads with a foot pedal like a Behringer FCB1010. So I could create a multi channel looper without using my hands?
This is huge ! thank you
I presume you keep all your existing synth licences and projects when you install this mod?
Yes. Nothing with your normal Force stuff changes. You just get extra functionality.
Is there a way to use novnc to connect to vnc server?
I've not ever used novnc. If it's a VNC client it should be able to connect the same as any other VNC client app. I'll give it a try when I have time and see.
@@dreamstaticsounds ok thanks it works in any browser so ios compatible i just dont know how to connect the dots myself.. would be a cool addition to your vids
How is this related to moskow?
🤷♀️ You'd have to ask Mockba that one.
I'll be honest I have an engineering background and comfortable with IT generally but I think the Akai force is complicated enough and seams like this is a huge undertaking.
@@dreamstaticsounds it seams crazy as this is a pretty amazing piece of kit with mods. I'll watch your vids and get myself up to speed 👍cheers man
You da fucking man!
My word!
my sd card slot is non operational so I guess I cant use eh?
I believe there's a way to do so via SSD. Head over to our Discord server and Amit might be able to help you with that. Here's the link: discord.gg/HvNBpArSSa
mpc beats studio and the load screen and matrix up on the screen at the same time. i will pay. thank you
Not going to be possible. Sorry.
Кто не знает. Mockba визуально читается как Москва (Moscow).
I’ll be trying that EMMC to fix my connection to Bluetooth with my IPad.
Honestly, not sure if it will help. Might be worth a try though. The Bluetooth in the Force just generally kind of sucks. It works okay with some things but not really at all with most things.
@@dreamstaticsounds used to work fine, but then it just all of a sudden start working with the iPad. I’ll give it a shot.
@@sgkountz3280 yeah, in that case I would try it.
mv1 too
No clue what mv1 is.
Verselab MV 1
About the mod, it looks great and have to say hat off to everyone single one of you involved in making it happen.
If you want to try the mod, try the mod. I'm just a beta tester and I try to make videos that show people how all this stuff works. I don't make the mods. No need to hurt your ego trying them. But I'm not about to change who I am or what I have to say to try and make everybody comfy cozy either. 🤷♀️
It’s not Mockba, it’s “Moskva”, aka Moscow.
Do y'all get off on correcting people or is it just me. You're like the 5th dude to point this out. As I've said in the past, Mockba doesn't mind either spelling or pronunciation. Want to teach me anything else while you're here?
@@dreamstaticsoundsPfff…
@@emberarc like literally, I put hours and hours into this video to help other people and you folks just show up and shit on it. Go fuck yourself.
wireless midi, wireless speakers, usb. then we can say its number 1
Force already has wireless bluetooth midi. It's not the best but it's there. Wireless audio would be full of latency and unusable. Wireless USB?
zen beatz too
control, and drag
Yeah, maybe Moss could do that. The Mockba team doesn't work on DAW support etc. It's not really in our wheelhouse. Sorry.
