If you mean the MockbaMod team, definitely. But as for me, I'm mostly just a beta tester. All I did here is find a way to use what we already have to make things easier and then I edited a few options in the config file to make it work. But thank you nonetheless! Mockba the Borg and Amit Talwar are the ones who deserve the majority of the credit though. They have made my Force usable and for that I am forever grateful.
@@dreamstaticsounds does the config file only work with smaller projects? i got it working once but then it just stopped working after trying it on another project. the pads would not trigger the correct sections. after a third try the feature stopped working all together. i had to reinstall the midiloop config and got it working again but its not triggering the correct rows again. maybe user error? I bought your expansion pack btw, good stuff!
Well, would you look at that. I just had to bow out of using the Force for a show this weekend, which negates the purpose of buying it. I think it's time to start using these alternative firmware versions! Thank you for your demo. :)
That's a great addition thanks a lot. It will make it so much flexible than the song mode. Can you give me more explenations about using octaves for having more rows ? I'd like to build a full liveset using this technique.
Glad you found it helpful! As far as using octaves, here's what I meant: All this is doing is using notes. If these midi clips were triggering an instrument, the steps would trigger notes. Which means there are multiple pages of notes. Notice how I initially said to go with Octave 0 when setting this up. That means, if you go to any of the other octaves, say Octave 1 for instance, and figure out exactly which midi note numbers are getting triggered (and this is very much a game of trial and error because different companies put Middle C in different places in the scale), you can then go into your midiloop config file and tell it to make those notes trigger different pages. Make sense? I probably will need to do a follow up video for this and several other things I've since thought of.
@@davidpinault5433 you got my wheels turning on how to set this up better. Will have an updated version soon with everything all on the same page. And that includes page up and page down and pages 1 through 16 for quick jumps. 😉
Yes, of course. It's pretty much the exact same firmware as Akai's, it just has some extra options added at boot via SD card. If at any point you need to boot your Force without it, you can just take out the SD card. And if you were to ever decide to go back to the standard firmware, all you have to do is update the firmware with Akai's again and you're back to no mod.
I believe there is one other modded firmware out there but I don't know much about it. There are also ways to run the MPC firmware on the Force as well as the Denon DJ firmware too.
I hope Akai add some of these features natively.. like monitor support! that functionality is huge! hunching over the Force screen sucks!@@dreamstaticsounds
@@DJCJ999 personally, I'd like to see Akai make a new Force with more CPU power and more ram that's upgradeable, has HDMI output, and a more DAW-like arranger where you can add clips without having to record them in. Will that ever happen? Who knows. I'm just glad Mockba and Amit do what they do to keep this device relevant and usable for now.
100% I just hope folk aren't to salty when the Mk2 drops and it has all the features.... but that's how capitalism works and if the FCE2 isn't as expensive as the latest Push I would happily upgrade@@dreamstaticsounds
I finally figured out what's going on, but when it gets to the end to make the change, I see the LED on the second pad light at the step I put in, but it doesn't change the scene (Launch button). It just loops the previous. All the settings are exactly as your own, including replacing the midi.loop file. What am I missing?
I don't see that happening in any usable way. There is a slight chance VST could be run in the background such that you could route the audio from the internal audio device in the Force into an external USB interface via analog trs cables but the only option for controlling vst would be via midi cc screens in a midi track or by very selectively setting up some button combos in Midiloop. And even then many VST effects would bog down the processor running in the background like that.
Got a few minutes into this several times and gave up because I can not hear what you are saying.Music way too loud, voice too quiet. Pity as my eye lit up at the prospect of something new about the Force.
Yeah, there's probably a couple minutes in there that are a bit difficult to hear me. Sorry about that. I had recorded that first section before I got a better video/audio balance set up. Ultimately though, if you're giving up that easy, MockbaMod probably isn't for you anyway.
@@dreamstaticsounds As I said I tried a couple of times. Maybe I'll fast forward and see if I can hear just what you are talking about then. It's not that I'm "giving up that easily". More that I'm not wasting my time trying to hear what you are talking about in the first place. Maybe it would be a good idea to either remix or at least post a pinned comment at the top warning of this.
That's fair. I'll go through and add a sticker or pinned comment or something and add some text of what I said for those parts or something. Sorry for the grumpy reply before. I've been battling with audio/video issues and being sick and have been extra irritable as a result.
Great video you are doing some amazing coding for the force. Keep up the great work.

@@gmorb666 did you make sure you have the StepSeq set to Drum, and on Octave 0 and the C Maj scale.

This is just scratching the surface of what this mod can do. It's a big scratch, mind you. But still.

Do custom arp patterns behave like a arpeggio or like midi clios in the arp patterns folder?
Both are the same.

Load multiple wav files would be cool. Will ask if that's something that could be done. 🤷♀️
Drag and drop from DAW to where? To the Force's drive?
aslo can u add the roland
404 templete . i hear the foce can do the samething
Pink Buddha set up a 404 template a while back on his TH-cam channel. You can download that from there.

Yeah. Mute when entering your automation and unmute when you're finished! 🙂
