I just went with the MG of this. Ironically enough, that being PBandai, it was still easier to find than the HG at the time.
Agreed.tabels turned for gunpla when your regular release favorites are harder to find than p bandai
I think the old HG GMs are underrated. I've built the GM quel and quite liked it. Yes I would like some more option for the accecories and more articulation but for what they are is neat simple kits that are quick to assemble and looks good in a group.
I really enjoyed the HG GM Custom and Quel, this isn't too far behind it, just wish the rifle was done a little better.

Built this earlier in the year, and was very pleasantly happy with this kit for the most psrt (though I ended up just ripping out the antenna ahahahaha)
But yeah, as someone who's oldest kit wasthe HGUC Gramps Revive, was super surprised with the overall build
ive recently built the gm, command, space and cold versions. all are basic but pretty good. i do recommend them for cheap army builds although sometimes the cold district can be hard to find.
They're good for that and with some variation it can be a little more fun to build squads and what not
@@thespicer yeah the hd builder parts and weapon campaigns come in handy. i am looking forward to the gm cannon next

The GM Custom and the GM Quel have the same problems with the rifles not fitting in the hands.
It's been awhile but I don't remember having that issue on mine. Was it a posing issue or they would just fall out really easy?
@@thespicer the butt of the rifle sticks out too much and clashes with the arm. You can angle it but it still looks weird in the hands.
@@Kenny_F91 Got ya, since I have the Custom with the rifle up and the quel with the beam saber I forgot how difficult posing that rifle is haha I'm a little biased though cause it's a sick rifle design
@@Kenny_F91 That make sense. With my custom having the rifle up in the air and the quel using it's beam saber, I totally forgot how much a pain it is to pose. Haha I'm a bit baised though cause that bullpup rifle is one of my favorite weapon designs in gundam
Hey thanks for reviewing the Cold Districts model, this was the last kit I was fixing up but ultimately dropped it because some parts were being tricky. Your vid makes me want to go back and revisit this kit, thanks man

The kit looks great! What did you put behind the helmet lens to make it look so smooth?
If I remember right, this was the last kit with the toothpick saber...
It's not that hard to clip it off and drill a slot for one of the beamsaber effect parts.
I view the toothpick swords as good painting practice though especially for building up lighter shades for a glow effect
@@TheMartianrebel I always find that it looks kind of off in comparison there, especially in a mixed thing of models there where most use the beam effects
@AzraelThanatos I mean yeah, it does end up sticking out amongst all the clear beam saber effects. I guess I'm not as bothered because I like showing off the painted toothpick saber anyway.
@@TheMartianrebel I didn't mind the clear toothpick ones that some of the 90's kits had, easier for a solid paint job on the hilt (and hand for the ones built into the hand
Have this next in my stack of kits to build. Those stickers on the face look alright from a distance... terrible up close.
Love GMs, excited to get to it and paint it.

Do have to wonder what they were thinking with the gun, that stock keeps it from laying at anything but an at awkward angle. Side by side to its Command and standard brothers, it really does stand out in a bad way. The seam lines on the legs and arms stand out pretty badly, like the other WitP GMs.
That said, for what it is, the time period, its hard to be too demanding. Once its cleaned up it looks great.
it's not rare to have the stock/clip sticking out and getting in the way
For sure, like I get it's just an accessory but at least make the handle substantial enough to be firmly griped. 100% agree, a fun little basic HG for a cool design
stock like that works if it was a human using it. but mechs have rigid arms, with feddies boxy design just makes it worse
@@razrafz it works for mechs in the animes. and these model kits are mostly anime accurate
@@razrafz Fair, at least if it had something else to either stabilize or move the butt out of the way it'd help.
