Indeed. As soon as Buff Body came out I tried to copy a transmog I did a while back in GU as well as one of my favorite layereds in Iceborne ; I ended up doing something unique for Sunbreak, it's probably my new favorite layered I've made.
It's only possible with Courage Hammer, when initiating a level 2 or 3 charge you're allowed to do a quick roll immediately ; but if you roll anytime later than that you'll lose the charge.
Man I don't know how to describe it other than 'this game doesn't feel like it has Tigrex in it sometimes'. Like, the element meta means his weapons never really stood much of a chance, and they're not even that good on their face in this game anyway. His armor's also irrelevant considering Speed Eating is in a bad spot in this game because max potions are almost instant-consumable since World and all, Earplugs isn't relevant because Defiance, Peak Performance isn't especially worth since Bloodlust and Dereliction are so valuable, Mind's Eye isn't good because all weapons kind of have passably good sharpness at worst... And it's not even just that I don't really have reason to fight him. Rise and Sunbreak have kind of a big ecology-shaped weakness I feel like, and Tigrex is a monster that low-key has that as a lot of his personality I feel...? Fifth gen and its open zone maps are really good at feeling kind of... bereft of purpose generally speaking. There's no 'oh Tigrex ONLY comes to this room when he's hungry, he ONLY goes to the nest to sleep'. It's cool that he's got his Chillin' Perch in the ice map he usually starts in, but half the time I'm done collecting birds and he got up to Walk Around Aimlessly. In this game especially he's kinda had it rough since he's not an *Invader* like Jho but it did always feel like a big deal when he wandered into the room with his big charges and our old, clunky movement. Now he's modestly annoying at worst, doesn't have many turf wars to express himself, and there's just monsters I'd rather fight for his anomaly materials. It's kind of a shame. He really does feel like a product of older, less actiony Monster Hunter, and I don't really know what I'd do about it if we stay on the track Sunbreak's put the franchise on.
The older flagships, especially Tigrex and Nargacuga were from a time where monster designs were generally more grounded and "realistic". Of course they pale in comparison to other crazy flagships and monsters ; the likes of Magnamalo etc. Though there is still a lot of monsters in this game that could've been from the first generation straight up with their designs: Anjanath, Somnacanth, Bishaten, in my opinion. Tigrex, Nargacuga and Diablos feel like the three monsters for me in the series that really need a rework.
@@dynamo_lynn I would love to see those three get the Rise Rathalos treatment, where it's a ground-up reimagining of the moveset based on the original design ethos, instead of just strapping new moves to an old moveset. I would still very much miss the old 'Tigrex does nothing but charge at you and this makes him a genuinely very threatening monster', but that only worked in the first place because every weapon didn't have three counters in its kit and we couldn't Jump Over Him. (again it'd also help if they gave these three literally any gear with any amount of relevance. like. please. holy shit. I can't believe I miss the unabashed design mistake that was Non-Elemental Boost from base world.)
rise is awesome but i think it will continue on a branch like GU and its own high speed thing. i think they will always have a mainline or something that is slower and the old school . it will just probably be every Other game release. rise doesn't seem replicable. they would have to double down on the frontier philosophy to keep monsters that could fight hunters like the kamura hunters
This video made me realize that there aren't any maps that Narga and Tigrex share naturally I think.
Well in this game yes, but in World they can both be found in the Ancient Forest at least.
That's something I noticed like a few weeks ago, very interesting for our two gen 2 raw damage pseudo wyverns.
@@Pho3nix2003tigrex in the ancient forest? You sure?
SKY TOWER
I have so much nostalgia for Red Rescue Team, what a good pick
The shock trap is a darn lego brick 7:20 xd
Love the Mystery Dungeon music😁
Buying that hair style now, take my money capcom
The Sky Tower music 😢
Am i the only person who wished the forlorn arena in rise had the intro music like the old games?
Yeah, that's why I add it myself in some of my videos
That shock trap was a yellow lego 🤣🤣🤣
Nice run as always. Is this a new layered set you made? :)

the name of the dog "Kusanagi CT-3X" is a name Elon Musk could give to his dog 💀
Great vid like always !
You can roll and keep charging your hammer now?? That's insane

It looks like a dance
What are you wearing for that layered armor? looks amazing
POKEMON M DUNGEON SKY TOWER
In your opinion, is courage hammer that much better than strength. Ive always been a str hammer user
Courage Hammer is about 30% stronger than Strength without Palamutes and even stronger with them.
@@dynamo_lynn when you say palimute what am i missing. Ill be switching to courage asap. I just did mr 70 valstrax in 14 minutes on str.
