Sri Lanka’s bid for membership in BRICS and the New Development Bank is an important aspect of it's (Sri Lanka's) global outreach.

True, this ignorance transposes to a "lck of transparency" when the shock finally hits them they say it was all done secretly and the West weren't included!!!
Thanks, Jerry. Quite admirable that you would squeeze your limited time for the online interview with Andy Boreham a few days ago and now share your thought, and highlight the nuances that BBC and its kind tried so hard to obscure or twist around or even to lie about, regarding BRICS and China. A few things that you pointed out in clear language are extremely informative and essential for us all today. Thanks again. Best wish to your vacation and whatever you do. Be Good.
Thanks, the two videos were made within half an hour of each other yesterday morning, then I got back into holiday mode - I can catch up with messages like this while my wife redies herself for another day of sightseeing - we're off to see elephants today :-))
Back in the 1974, Henry Kissenger drafted the National Security Study Memorandium 200. It was a policy of containing the developing world, so they could not industrialize. It was a not in the interest of the US to help develop and industrialize the developing world, because they would be a competitor to the West. The EU has the same policy to keep countries in the Global South in a perpetual state of underdevelopment. This is why not one Western country helped developed any country in the Global South produce any kind of industrial capacity, like processing of raw materials, etc.
Sour grapes are bitter to swallow when one has to watch from the sidelines while other people not just enjoying sweet fruits of success that’s widely shared! Get over it, BBC and the rest!
I think Xi did not fully respond to Putin's de-dollarization plan during this meeting, Russia is quite rushy about it, understandably, but on China's side, it hasn't been reaching the perfect timing yet. As the biggest economy and military powerhouse in BRICS, China needs to use the BRICS as tool, to keep developing itself, economically, militarily and technologically to a certain degree, that the West eventually recognize their efforts on countering China are useless and meaningless, then under this circumstance, the BRICS would really become serious, important and useful for the members and the global south.
China is taking a more cautius approach, I personally expected mBridge to have been announced a year ago as a solution to Russia's problems but it wasn't and China is staying in the backroom on the new currency issues - probably they have good reasons, if they were to take this forward it would stir up a US Treasury and State Department hornet's nest
@@jerrystakeonchina799 China has been pushing offshore CNH, yes, but within a controlled scope, with that much amount of trade surplus every year, no way this country would easily and swiftly abandons the SWIFT. Also China still hasn't opened much of its internal financial and commercial real estate windows for foreign direct investments, so it is not wise to allow huge amount of CNH to be exchanged offshore for now. And since there would be no BRICS currency and CNH/CNY is the only possible currency to be chose to used for BRICS pay/trades, I don't think this plan won't be really happening, or I should say painfully hurting the dollar system, in the next few years. But there was good news, right? At least India finally knew its place(probably pressured by other BRICS members and internally something had happened) and decided to cease the border issue for the moment, that's a big progress for BRICS, and a big slap to QUAD.
China is a major creditor of US debt. They need to allow the US$ to decline slowly and gradually to prevent sticker shock to the global economy. An abrupt collapse of US$ is disasterous to the global economy. In addition, China cannot let the Yuan exchange rate to rise rapidly bcos it would make China's exports more expensive or imports to foreign countries more expensive, thus derail BRICS economic growth n development. The primary objective is to spur economic growth among BRICS nations, not punish the US$.
Re finance: Currency multipolarity is the essential part of what BRICS+ Kazan declaration proposed where national currency based trading system will circumvent capricious and unilateral weaponization by Western sanction thru dollar or Euro …etc. In fact, the train of global de-dollarization has long left the station and it really doesn’t matter how the West view or try to cripple BRICS national currency based trading system. What does matter is global south countries stayed together to establish economic sovereignty leads up to national sovereignty.

I've always wonder what kind of people would think "Hmmm, I'd like to work at the BBC as journalist, because I could spend all day long writing garbage fake news to misinform my compatriotes, my friends, my readers. I love to make up stories. I love to misquote people for the sake of it. That is what I learn at school and that's what I'd like for a career."
I've had the same thought, I really do wonder how it is that people get into a job with all the right reasons and then stay in it for all the wrong ones - I"ve hated jobs I've had in the past and quit - if they wanted me to tell lies I would be gone in a flash, so either they have very low ethics, or perhaps they write correctly then someone edits them - or maybe they just take the coin and don't care
I was reading that Russia overtook Germany to become the fifth strongest economy and this happened after the US was doing what it could to weaken Russia.
At the BRICS conference the BBC's Steve Rosenberg was allowed to ask Putin multiple questions, which he answered at length. I can't imagine Starmer allowing journalists from any of the BRICS nations the same freedom.
@@peanut0brain Exactly! MOST of the belligerency and hostile acts have been initiated by and from the West - which makes one wonders what is the real cause for this if not some kind of psychosis.
It's already too long and, if you read the BRICS release at the end of the event, it states this in so many words - BRICS isn't about confronting or dividing, it's about connecting and cooperating
Germany is top of pile, but its manufacturing sector has been in recession for 2.5 years. Mainly due to competition from china even though german car companies invested heavily in electric cars maybe a little late. I heard germany has great infrastructure compared to most countries even usa. I heard france has also invested heavily in AI and computers, so has israel, but germany will probably be top place for AI. They need to get better at adopting new technologies, I heard in survey only 45% of germany uses new technology at any point in time.
The Kazan Declaration gears closely to What China claims to build a community with a shared future for mankind. It is more about building a multipolar world in which every country is going to have a say in the global trade and the developing countries will have a better chance to build up its economy. I heard, though not for sure for the time being, Uganda was accepted into the BRICS this year. I expect more will formally join in this year. The BRICS Plus will trade among themselves much more in their currencies. As China is the number one trading partner of many countries, I expect RMB will become more nationalized and more and more central banks of various countries will increase will foreign currency in RMB.
I don't think China wants that James because it will increase the value of the Yuan and that's bad for exports, it's a fine line becoming the strongest currency might seem good but has pitfalls for an export based economy
Wouldn't it be "interesting" if ships from BRICS+ countries sailed into ports around Cuba with engineers and supplies to rebuild their electrical infrastructure? NOTHING military.....
It would, but each of those ships would be barred from US ports for 6 months - I personally have the view that a shipload of medicines from China should stop in Cuba and drop off a couple of containers just to see how the USA reacts to that - they can't live without their regular meds!
Truths that are hard to swallow. 1) We have entered into an era/epoch of Multipolar world. 2) China is not an economy going into recession. 3) India, China, and African Union will be major players in 3-4 decades. 4) Europe is almost irrelevant to the world. 6) The wealth of Global south will significantly rise in two decades. 7) Middle East and South Asia will soon see changes in Maps of countries. 8) Countries will have more options to buy their weapons from within 1 - 1.5 decade. 9) US will remain a Major power but will decline as an empire, which it is now. 10) US will wrap it's military assets soon enough and concentrate in nearby areas.
I hope you're right on all of these and think you will be but I suspect the US decline is not going to be a quite one, iI see much chaos and destruction before it goes down but you're absolutely right, it is declining and will need to bring its troops back home to defend the home front more than attack others.
BRICS is bricks, as three of these five (Russia, China, and South Africa) have or expect severe economic problems, and the remaining ones have no intensive ties due to their distance. So we have to look at how the new countries will support this union.
South Africa does indeed have problems, but Russia and India are surging ahead, China is growing at twice the speed of the USA, 5 times that of the UK and 10 times that of Australia - you're misinformed if you think China or Russia have economic problems, what they have are challenges which are being well addressed - note the title of the video - what they are not telling us - I'm telling you the truth, you're responding with inaccurate statement which indicate you've been misled, mostly by omission of facts but partially by misinformation because you're reading western media. As for no ties because of their distance, Iran and Saudi are members, they are both in what we call the "Middle East" and both very central to the global economies. Brazil is the largest economy in South America and India has the world's largest population as wel as the fastest growing economy in the world Egypt and Ethiopia are solid econmies in Africa and were entered as new members last year, as was Argentina which decided not to join. New Partners have four in ASEAN and one in Europe - you can't get much more aligned than this. Stay away from Western media headlines and read stuff that reports what's happening rather than what you want to believe is happening. The reality is a far cry from what Western politicians and media are reporting

Cuba has been accepted as a partner nation, it means they will get more help from all BRICS countries - it's going to be interesting to see how large countries like China overcome the sanctions - one of which is that any ship whichy docks in Cuba will be forbidden entry to any port in the USA for 6 months - I personally think China needs to load one ship with stuff like medicines that the US really needs and dock in Havana on the way to another port in the USA - let's see what they say when a shipload of their medications isn't arriving!
I'm sure if you conducted a straw poll in the streets or around your workplace, you wouldn't find 2 in 10 people who even know what BRICS is or what it stands for - that's the horrible position that Murdoch press and the ABC have created, an irrational fear of the unknown!
Most of the former Colonies of the G-7 Nations, appear at BRICS Summits. Last year 60 nations were represented, I am still attempting to discover how many Nations attended this Summit. 2200 people from a lot of delegations.
@@jerrystakeonchina799 I am seeking the unofficial list of who was there making Trade Deals. Did Mexico send a Delegation? I know Cuba attended as did Valenzuela . I was wondering how many Nations sent Delegations. Think BRICS has not even provided a list.

In alphabetical order here are the countries attending: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaija Brazil, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia China, Congo, Cuba, Ethiopia, Egypt Iran, India, Indonesia Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Laos Malaysia, Mauritania, Mongolia Nicaragua Palestine South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sri Lanka Russia (host), Republika Srpska Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan Venezuela, Vietnam (the) United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan The United Nations also attended but not included in that list, Antonio Guterres was there. @@jerrystakeonchina799 Wikipedia does fail to provide all the rumors behind the news. They have a reputation for ignoring many facts that relate to subjects in the name of "accuracy". My view of the Gatherings that BRICS is providing apparently attract quite a group of interested individual nations to the idea of a Trade Union that can represent their involvement in World Trade. Some individuals and governments prefer to remain anonymous for political reasons, I recognize that desire. I am simply curious what Nations or Business interests were represented, in some capacity, at the BRICS gatherings this Summer that discussed the idea of a Grain Exchange, as well as the many other subjects that concern involvement in World Trade. I noticed that Cargill one of the Planets largest Grain Buyers has removed their last Black Sea Port facility from the Russian coast. Organizations like that Privately Held business affect prices and supplies available to the Major Players in Trade. Thank You for the list of names.

Hope to watch one with you, Andy and Cyrus Janssen together,

Thanks Sam, I'll put that to Cyrus when I'm home, he's usually quite open to collaboration - I assume Andy will be too
Great episode Jerry! It makes a little easier for me to explain/share the benefits of BRICS to my Filipino countrymen. 👍
Glad it was helpful Armand, if you need more info, please feel free to reach out by email - it's in the bio
@@jerrystakeonchina799 got it, thank you!
The whole global south will be more than happy to gather around the BRICS, if nothing else, to finally break free from the empire.
Nevermind western media .. let their believers sleep soundly 😋
Well said, Jerry; and, yes, it needed to be said.
Thanks for sharing this, Jerry.
Great analysis, thank you 🙏🏾
Now we can see the true colors of the Anglo-Saxon stance on world peace and human sustainability.
i just checked google and yahoo to see if there are any reports on the brics meeting . it is so far down the line that if you don't read it carefully, you will miss it. so we don't know anything about brics here in north america because there's hardly any report about it 🤣🤣. love from canada.
I watched the proceedings using the Kremlin channel.
Ignorance is blissful. That's the primary narrative of the western mainstream media. That's why BRICS coverage is limited and suppressed. 😂😂😂
True, this ignorance transposes to a "lck of transparency" when the shock finally hits them they say it was all done secretly and the West weren't included!!!
Who watches the BBC these days except for the Brits?😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jerry,Good work,Keep it up ,please.
Thanks for making this video Jerry, have a nice remaining vacation!
Another excellent video and excellent presentation of direct and honest information.

Excellent
Thanks for the video Jerry, definitely big news. Hope you're having a great vacation!
I am, thank you
Thanks, Jerry.

Clear enough to listen everything you said.
Thank you, and I will, in fact, better to say, we are :-)
Thanks for updating us with real and true information on Geo-Politics.
Soft spoken .Good analyzer .

Thanks Jerry!
I wasn't aware of this but it does make sense
Sour grapes are bitter to swallow when one has to watch from the sidelines while other people not just enjoying sweet fruits of success that’s widely shared! Get over it, BBC and the rest!

BRICS 👍...
Thanks for taking your vacation time to share your take on BRICS 2024. Is there a rice shortage right now in Sri Lanka?
Not as far as I'm aware, there seems to be no shortages of anything at all except money - there's a lot of poverty here
I think Xi did not fully respond to Putin's de-dollarization plan during this meeting, Russia is quite rushy about it, understandably, but on China's side, it hasn't been reaching the perfect timing yet.
I think you're right
When you are winner, you invite competition. When you are a loser you sanction the competition, even if you are a small country on the world scale
Agreed - read Warwick Powell on this - he's the real expert in my opinion
Finally, someone linking me to the actual Kazan Declaration. Thanks, Jerry. It's the last link in the video description, if anyone else is looking.
Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane represented Sri Lanka at the BRICS Plus Outreach Dialogue held in Kazan, 24 October 2024 (The Outreach Dialogue followed the conclusion of the BRICS Summit 22-24 October 2024.). Sri Lanka’s bid for membership in BRICS and the New Development Bank is an important aspect of it's (Sri Lanka's) global outreach.
Yes, I saw that - it's a good move and the new President will probably be looking to apply for BRICS membership soon - I hope so
I've always wonder what kind of people would think "Hmmm, I'd like to work at the BBC as journalist, because I could spend all day long writing garbage fake news to misinform my compatriotes, my friends, my readers.
Agreed, but that's partly because Germany is doing so badly and that's mostly USA's fault too!!!
Great info, Jerry! Happy holiday!
Kudos to Jerry.
And don't forget, countries in BRICS and its members produce abundant gold and have it as their reserves
At the BRICS conference the BBC's Steve Rosenberg was allowed to ask Putin multiple questions, which he answered at length. I can't imagine Starmer allowing journalists from any of the BRICS nations the same freedom.
englandstan is now an islamist state
Happy holiday 🎉
IMF had just announced that Russia is now the fourth largest economy on PPP terms after China Russia and India. Japan has been pushed to 5th place.
I meant China, USA, India and Russia in that order.
I wonder how long this, us against them mentality , will carry on for………
It will carry on forever in the west and contained in the west
@@peanut0brain Exactly! MOST of the belligerency and hostile acts have been initiated by and from the West - which makes one wonders what is the real cause for this if not some kind of psychosis.
It's already too long and, if you read the BRICS release at the end of the event, it states this in so many words - BRICS isn't about confronting or dividing, it's about connecting and cooperating
End of brettenwoods
Begining of BRICSWOOD 😅😅😅😅
Germany is top of pile, but its manufacturing sector has been in recession for 2.5 years. Mainly due to competition from china even though german car companies invested heavily in electric cars maybe a little late. I heard germany has great infrastructure compared to most countries even usa. I heard france has also invested heavily in AI and computers, so has israel, but germany will probably be top place for AI. They need to get better at adopting new technologies, I heard in survey only 45% of germany uses new technology at any point in time.
Germany is doing great things in China but not so great in Europe - German business leaders know, even if their politicians don't
Enjoy your holiday in Sri Lanka . I heard the crabs were delicious there. 👍👍
They are, my wife loves them, I find crabs too much trouble to bother with but I like them
The Kazan Declaration gears closely to What China claims to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
👏👏👍👆

BRICS needs to assist Cuba !

Peaceful business development with alternative system when western sanction appears.

thx mate 🇦🇺 my country is delusional and paranoid of BRICS
I'm sure if you conducted a straw poll in the streets or around your workplace, you wouldn't find 2 in 10 people who even know what BRICS is or what it stands for - that's the horrible position that Murdoch press and the ABC have created, an irrational fear of the unknown!
Most of the former Colonies of the G-7 Nations,

Last year 60 nations were represented,
I am still attempting to discover how many Nations
attended this Summit.
2200 people from a lot of delegations.
36 nations attended the Kazan Summit, over 20 of them sent their leaders
@@jerrystakeonchina799 I am seeking the unofficial list of who was there making Trade Deals.
Did Mexico send a Delegation?
I know Cuba attended as did Valenzuela .
I was wondering how many Nations sent Delegations.
Think BRICS has not even provided a list.
As far as I know, Mexico was not in attendence, at least not in a formal capcity.
In alphabetical order here are the countries attending:
Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaija
Brazil, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia
China, Congo, Cuba,
Ethiopia, Egypt
Iran, India, Indonesia
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan
Laos
Malaysia, Mauritania, Mongolia
Nicaragua
Palestine
South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sri Lanka
Russia (host), Republika Srpska

I haven't seen a list of attendees offered by BRICS, I saw this in some Chinese media and this list is confirmed by Wikipedia as being 36, so our lists match
We all know that the US dominates global they want to ensure that national broadcasters 'toe the line'. The ABC in Australia follows the BBC example . To assist in unraveling what is going on, I refer you to a current article in NAKED CAPITALISM by Conor Gallagher.
